Obviously Dragonbrand is the superior server by a slight margin, and I applaud their coordination and superior skills.
Here’s where your argument fell apart. Going off your example, Dragonbrand is the vastly superior server. They are able to hold their side of things during half the day, and dominate you totally during the night.
You don’t get to complain about losing a fight you don’t even show up to. WWW is a 24/7 battle and if your server does not have a group capable of holding their own 24/7 you are not a top tier server. Currently the problem is being sorted as the oceanic-heavy servers are artificially low in ranking from the issues with 1 day long www. This is being corrected
Was chatting the other day to get some context about what’s happening. Just so you’re aware, the majority of our “night presence” is a single mega-guild called the older gamers. I think they’re up to 5 guilds of about 500 players each now. They’ve got a day presence too but the majority of their players are oceanic. They’re co-ordinated through vent and listen to strategies.
While I feel for you guys, I don’t see how you’ll pull this one off. Even if you did pull together enough force to stop them, you’re only playing the guys that are bored and killing time. If there’s an actual battle going on to get those other players interested, you’re still going to be outnumbered severely. The 24 hour matches simply didn’t give our server enough time to bring our night guys to bear, so we are much lower in the rankings than we should be.

Has nothing to do with loosing cause I dont care loosing…Its the way how they get they advantage.
Looks like they do it by beating you.
Sorry guys, war’s off for today. None of our guys really want to do anything, so lets just play some hackey sack and we’ll be able to fight back 2 days from now, that’s cool with you right?
Yeah and it’s not decided by which server has the best players/guilds but who can bring in the most people at night times. Great concept.
The world who can bring the most people at night and keep the objectives during the day DOES have the best players and guilds.
World vs world isn’t player vs player, it’s not guild vs guild, it’s not even zerg vs zerg. It’s server vs server. If your server isn’t strong enough to compete, you don’t deserve to win.
Hi guys, heard a fair bit of discussion regarding night capping, and I figured most players may not have heard the most recent information regarding it:
Worlds in WvW are matched up based on their ranking using a modified Glicko rating,4 so that high-ranked worlds will battle other high-ranked worlds, and low-ranked worlds will battle other low-ranked worlds. This attempts to ensure that every world has a fair chance of winning matches despite differing levels of player participation or skill.5

As you can see, servers who are unable to mount an effective defence 24/7 will eventually drop in rankings. As they drop to the mid/low end of the pack, you will see less servers able to fight 24/7. This will allow the stronger servers to fight each other, and the weaker servers to fight each other, making for more enjoyment all round. Just hang in there a couple of weeks and the nightcap issue should resolve itself.
You don’t agree with me , i am cool with this , but try to explain me why without fooling yourself talking about skills or WvW superior tactics .
Also i do not care if you have canadians or not , is not the problem for me , the problem is night capping giving HUGE advantage and unbalancing the game .
If this is intended as Anet said , i’d just stick on sPvP since it is the game mode i like more .
It’s not about superior skill or superior tactics, it’s about superior servers. I do feel for you guys on us dominated servers, however the problem will work itself out. Anet has implemented a system where higher ranked servers fight higher ranked servers, so once you’re down with the group that can’t mount a 24/7 fight you’ll see less and less night capping. Unfortunately, it’s early days for you yet.
Perhaps playing spvp until the balance is resolved would be a good idea- less frustrating definitely
I know this “night-capping” can be seen on as a valid tactic, but my point and opinion is that you shouldn’t be able to gain 2x/3x of what the opposition made having to PvP, only fighting a bunch of NPC’S. I thought the whole point of this was to actually reward PvP’ing, but guess I was wrong…
Easy to counteract this tactic- prevent them from attacking only npc’s. The argument “you guys should stop the war while we should get some sleep” hasn’t really worked for the last thousand years. If you want to win a battle, abandoning it half way through isn’t the best way

USA / Europe / Australia / Asia put all those servers who have 24/7 WvW going on against each other ?
This system is already in place. Once the www starts cycling, higher ranked servers will be fighting higher ranked servers. I’m unsure what you’re suggesting happens that isn’t already starting to happen?
Also, accusing people of flaming because they legitimately disagree with your point serves no purpose.
Whats wrong with only capping Suply camps and building sieges on your forts when you have zero oposition ? you still make your server better in WvW, you just dont create inbalance…
Because it’s asking players to play half a game so that you feel like you’re contributing more than you are. If your server isn’t able to field a sizeable opposition 24/7 you are not a competitive world. Changing the game to make you a competitive world is meaningless, you might as well ask for your specific world to get a triple damage bonus on constantly because you can’t beat servers better than you.
I’m the same way. I mainly have been playing human with sylvari mixed in every once in a while.
Asura seem like the joke race
Norn are just resized humans
The charr run animation looks wonky to me
Hi, as others have reported, I’ve lost approximately 60 silver tonight (pretty much all my money). When executing a buy order, I clicked the accept button however it didn’t go through. Thinking it was a ui bug, I clicked it a couple more times. It appears that the buy order value has been deducted from my character however no buy order is present on the system. As such, I can’t cancel anything to get my money back.
