100% i would buy a series of well illustrated books that had all of the lore in them. like an exhaustive history of tyria. go ahead and write it up through the GW1 and GW2 story lines. you could just create a character to act as the player character in gw1 and make the gw2 main character a descendant of that original character. id pay a good bit for something like that. especially if it covered ALL the history and went through the lore as well.

It’s not even all about the queues. ET’s identity in WvW is just gone. We have a few guilds who pride themselves in taking up the call, slapping on the commander tag and running the circuit. I actually made it into one of the Borderlands tonight. I did love seeing the groups running around and the battles that ensued. the horrible thing is that this is not our tight knit little community though.

Even if we had been merged with one or two of the lower tier servers, we would at least have the same styles in common to work with.

Temporary lower tier server linkings over the next few months should have been enough to gather date to see which of the low tiers needed to be merged together, without displacing the top tiers.
Once a good balance was found in WvW population and coverage , then the good matches could have been permanently merged. I wouldn’t even be as upset about possibly losing our server name to a new name as long as our way of game “life” stayed relatively the same.
It’s not the actual server that I need but the guilds and friends I have come to know and enjoy being around that is the important past. Adding another small server permanently would just add another same size pool to pull new friends from.

Tossing us into an ocean of higher skilled blob groups (and I say higher skilled due to the fact that they are accustomed to the tactics needed for a max pop WvW environment) is completely unfair as there is no room for what we bring to the tactics table based on our small server experience.

I would say it takes 3 of our guilds to put together the compositional make up of one of Blackgates regulars.

What it should have taken to start the process to gather the info for a merger was to take the bottom two servers of Tier 8, link them with the bottom server in Tier 7.
Take the top server in Tier 8 and link it with the middle server of Tier 7.
Top server of Tier 7 remains.

Theres 6 servers effectively made into 3, eliminating Tier 8.

From there you can readjust according to WvW participation per server along with your Glicko until you have some roughly balanced outcomes.
Sorry Tier 6, I am unaware of your current state, if it’s as shoddy as ours then maybe they could continue the linking up through T6 as well. 9 servers into 3 would be even easier.
But there is no reason to be shuffling anyone with the top 3-6 servers.

yeah i tried to play in this new environment and i agree. i cant function in this maxed out population stuff. and honestly i dont want to. i hate this. it has ruined my favorite area of the game. and if it stays like this, i wont be in WvW anymore. i just have no interest in this kind of nonsense. the first 20 minutes of team chat i saw when i finally got in after an hour of waiting was the other server trash talking my fellow commanders on EBay. these are friends of mine and it was just aweful to have to deal with this. i have made my point. i wont be playing wvw long if it stays like this. its a shame i convinced a few friends to buy the game based on WvW when this is what the developers turned it in to.

So, my guild, [Para] Paradise, has run into an interesting problem. We are a IMMENSELY active guild. and have been enjoying decorating our guild hall. However, we have reached an problem. We cant put up any more decorations. Apparently the limit is 1000 per guild hall. We sorta blew that out of the water in no time. Devs, is there any plans on making it possible to upgrade that limit? Why is there a limit at all?

i would love to be able to get these:

all 4 seasons = Legendary Collector of Tears
4th season = Legendary Salt Hero
3rd season = Salty Legend
2nd season = King Salty
1st season = Saltiest of Salties

My question is simple. i want to know if there will be the same kind of crafting in the mystic forge for these new legndaries, or are they only obtained through the collection system. any kind of answer backed up with proof or a quote from a Dev would be awesome. thanks so much!

I main a warrior and was very concerned when i heard about the torch being the weapon. but after last BWE and this one, i love it. the burns man. THE BURNS. i am already planning on swapping over my soldier gear for dire gear. so strong. that being said… i would like to see a bit shorter cooldowns on the torch skills, and two stacks of burns on the rage skills or shorter cooldowns. but, that is my opinion. the condis are great, but it just doesn’t feel like they are on par with what some of these other classes can crank out, and if i am going to run a condi build, i REALLY wanna run some conditions. other than that, could not be happier. sword torch longbow is amazing and can really devastate in wvw as well as in pve, which i have never seen before

i totally think its either off hand or dual focus wielding. specifically a skin that has an exposed fist. if it were me, id pair it with elemental atonement types(flame, water, air, earth) for the four skill types and then a large aoe blast finisher that combines all of them. focus it on evasion and jumping around the foe while punching the enemy. for utilities, make them arcane melee skills. the elite could be an arcane power-up. animation from the signet of rage, make it a blast finisher, damage and launch foes then taunt them. utilities could maybe be an arcane double kick, us the technology from the revenant hammer jump skill to jump at the enemy and double kick. then maybe a spinning whirlwind of arcane fists. have it interact with combo fields liek the axe 5 skill does. a third could be a bunker skill. bunker down for 3-5 seconds with a pulse heal and no damage from attacks. forth should be a leap face forward at a targeted area that is an aoe that causes cripple and weakness. heal should maybe be something like the shiro heal from the revenant where attacking heals for a bit. could be pretty sweet. any comments? sorry its not formatted all pretty and stuff.

yeah from what i saw on my account, i lost about everything these fine folks are pointing out. do you even test these patches??? like… with a real client and stuff?

ok you guys talking about the “bots” and third party programs need to do a bit more research. they arent using a bot. with the rangers, the pets auto agro when the player gets hit. this counts as an interaction and keeps that player in game. they are making smart use of in game mechanics and are not exploiting anything. literally they are choosing to not do anything. at all. get your facts straight

I’m not surprised by this guy’s comment, as the majority of the toons I see doing this belong to the guild he is in, PARA.

My guild has nothing to do about it. my point is people need to realize that no rules are being broken and no one is violation EULA or anything like that. ANET put the mechanics into the game, those players are just using them. constantly reporting them as botters doesnt work because they arent botting.

That is exactly why it was so sad! We barely knew her! the sister of Marjory??? She would have been sop interesting for us to get to know! Now, we never will get to. She’s just gone.

Ok. So usually, i am not one to get emotionally involved in a game. I usually like to play to take my mind off of real life issues. Guild Wars 2 is my sanctuary. However, this latest Living Story update, combined with the first part, has fundamentally changed how I will be playing this game from now on. I got attached to these characters. When Belinda came up in the first mission of the last episode, I shrugged it off. I thought to myself, “Well i guess we’ll get to see more of her in the future.” Then, Kasmeer and Marjory have their bits to say about it. Fast forward to the end of the mission where Belinda meets her end. She’s dead. as I sit in front of my computer staring at my screen, I feel my eye twitch from a tear. Somehow, you developers have gotten me emotionally involved in this story line. AND I DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE IT. Now, i can’t just mindlessly grind this new content to extract every ounce of gold from it. Now, i want that next update. I want the next part of this story. I want to see Marjory get her revenge. You did well, Arenanet. Yiou’ve done well. You’ll never hear another peep out of me about the Living Story as long as you keep writing it like this. You made me feel.

P.S. That last cutsceen. Wow. Just wow. For that alone, i would leave most other games. Please. Keep that coming

ok so i know i made a bad judgement call with this issue. some guy was posting in map chat about not being able to sell a dusk on the trading post so i thought i may be able to get it for a deal by trading him directly through mail. long story short, 300g and 100 ectos later, i have no dusk and no gold. i really hope i can get some help here cause i dont believe i violated anything, just made a terrible mistake. i submitted a ticket (#474705) already. also, idk if there is a place, but i would like to post this jerk’s name so everyone else will know to stay away.

agreed aidendale. they could use the same one from the end-game mission in arah. where you kill the elder dragon. just add the npcs such as crafters, bankers, traders, merchants, and the like and release them. perfect setup. plus it would tie in to the theme of the game right now. could even have an inventory item that called down a chopper to pick you up and have them at the airship on deck waiting to take you back down

same to me. armor costs about 40 silver total but it ended up taking about 1.2 gold cause the server lagged. i went back and clicked buy twice i guess but still only got one item. the runes weren’t delivered at all though
