Mortalis Ex Inferi, my mesmer
Hello everybody, here’s two little pieces I created last month.. I like to call this Ambient music!
I hope you will like them!
(In this one I imaged I was an adventurer walking through one of the jungles of this game, meeting new animals, and beautiful landscapes)
Paraphrase of night thoughts – Ambient Music
(Here I thought about loneliness, anxiety or resolution, it depends if you are optimist or pessimist. Especially when you play alone at night ^^)
Please if you’ll like them share, like and follow me on Twitter! ;D
Post your creations too so we can discuss about our music!
Hello guys, I got inspired so much in MMOs environments that I composed a sort of soundtrack that describe musically everything you can find in a MMO.
Here is the link: http://soundcloud.com/giacomo-tora/sonder
There is peace, war, sweet melodies that remember me about elves and heavy chords that aim right to the battles. I would like to write it for orchestra, what do you think about it ?
(edited by tora.3205)
I wanted to try if super Spike build was able to instakill them before they start to hit me, anyway, don’t go offtopic
Erm… Just look at new teams
+1, now PROs will come and tell us l2p… but thief is actually broken after this patch
Pre patch there was few weaponsets playable, D/P and S/D and P/D because it’s the most easy weaponset in the whole game.
Post patch weaponsets playable are: ……… P/D. (playable means at the mid level of all classes, so not as hambow, d/d celes ele)
The fact is that in my opinion, (playing thief since launch) thief is the most difficult class to play because of his stupid useless traits (we always use the same traits in every build, like 20% of all of them), we got a branch of utilities that is completely useless and because of our stupid weaponsets combos we can use only berserker or carrion stats (all the others are completely obsolete) and we still get nerfed without any reason and WE CAN’T STILL PLAY THE WAY WE WANT
Theres a 4 second cooldown on backstab. And you have to hit it from behind.
Eviscerate is a minimum of 7 second cooldown. How long does it take a warrior to get full adrenaline will be its new cooldown.
How easy is it to land a good CnD or how long to do BP+HS and get behind foe? How easy is it to set up a eviscerate and not be blinded, blocked, evaded? Since when were war and thief the same when were any classes the same?
This thread is bad – 9999
I like how you complained on something that ALL classes could complain about, backstab can be blinded, blocked or evaded as any other spell like eviscerate.
Now you are complaining about “backstab is from stealth you can’t evade it”, wrong.
If you have a bit of skill you can easily dodge backstabs, so I don’t wanna be the “l2p” promoter, but just… l2p mate
@mango
I agree in part about what you said.
D/D condition is hard to be good if its your support set having P/D as first.
D/D condition needs to be built around it to be played, but if built properly can really kitten all classes, except a bit of good invi thieves.
Then you talked about dumb players with a D/D condi build, well you should know that dumb players are everywhere and they play most of builds, even S/D or D/P, the most easy set for thieves, if played by a dumbabumpa are easy to deal with…
(edited by tora.3205)
I think it’s a nice support-damage build but I think you can improve it changing some trait and skills, I would put shadow refuge instead of devourer venom, it has area stealth to ress downed mates (1 support) and it has a dark field to life steal(selfhealing).
Trait I would change is shadow pulse, I would prefer shadow’s embrace to clean some conditions since you get healing from shadow refuge, life siphon from venoms and lifesteal from combo field.
Anyway good idea!
I think yours build is way too slow.. As being a piece of paper you have to be as sneaky as a Thief, not like a Warrior
flanking strikes is not so good to be taken instead of Thrill of the Crime, also Hidden Killer, if you take Thrill of the Crime you will have Fury so you can run for Executioner. Hide in Shadow.. ok it’s a good healing, but it’s too slow if you are running outnumbered fights, they will stun/interrupt you each time you try to cast it, and.. cooldown is too long for such healing (30 secs)
What I suggest you to run is, the build I use in sPvP and WvW:
6/6/0/0/2
- Deadly Arts: Mug, Dagger Training and Panic Strike
- Critical Strikes: Signet of Power, Signet Use and Executioner
- Trickery: Thrill of the Crime
Skills:
- Withdraw, Assassin’s Signet, Signet of Agility and Signet of Shadow, Basilisk Venom
Gear:
- Full Zerker, Scholar Runes with Sigil of Fire and Air
This is a GC build as yours, but way more effective because you don’t risk to get hit from AoE spam and it has more damage spike, if you are in outnumbered fights just burst one down (you need just 2 sec) then swap to SB and spam Chocking Gas+Cluster Bomb/AA
I don’t know if this should be added as pros or cons to my build description…
Hello, I’d like to update my old build to Yess Man’s condijumping build.
I’ve changed few things with last patches like traits and sigils. Here’s the new link with the guide:
http://intothemists.com/guides/4499-yess_mans_condijumping_build
Why do you run 1/5 SA instead of 2/10 DA?
Because that Black Powder thing saved my kitten many times when I was outnumbered

Hey this is my revaluation to D/D Condition Build , first of all, I’ve seen a build similar but it was for sPvP, using carrion and to hold points so the idea was not mine, I own just this WvW version
This one is for WvW roamers, that like me, dislike the stealth mechanic
It works on perma-evade, you can troll an entire zerg until you use shadowstep, (wrong use of this means death when trolling zergs), it is condition based, so, you will suck against those condition cleaner, BUT, what makes us strong is… that our attack is AoE.
It means you can easily fight outnumbered, for example 1vs3,4,5 without fall below 50% health.
Withdraw
Really nice skill, with a 3/4s evade, removing those condition slowing you, gives back 50% endurance every 15 seconds, give back 4 initiative every 15 seconds.
Spider Venom
- It’s quicker than Caltrops, instacast
- More damage single target
- Even the noob player know caltrops, they will never walk on them
- You have a massive-spam of Caltrops while dodging (=always)
- With 1 Spider Venom you deal 2’000 condition damage.
Shadowstep
I often use it as condition cleaner against heavy condition spammers, BUT, it’s also usefull to:
- Finisher Stomp, you know, the trick
- Shadowstep away after trolling a zerg
- Breakstun, especially against those mace warriors
- Move faster through the map
Agility Signet
This signet is magic with this build, it gives you 3 dodges, and clean a condition.
Thieves Guild
I really recommend this one instead of Venom or Daggerstorm.
They are your best skill against condition cleaner, they will help you a lot against them, taking Venom will not be a solution since this build is based on medium-long fights, it’s not burst and Daggerstorm… We have Death Leap Blossom that can stack 3 Bleeding on targets
On traits:
You will play on a 5/0/5/30/30, the only thing you can choose is the major trait on Trickery, I personally use Bountiful Thief to gain 19,5 second of vigor and rip 2 boons make targets more vulnerable, for example, when you see regeneration stacking on your target, steal is a MUST, to make your job easier and faster, the other traits are synergized with the other skills/dodges
Playing this build you don’t have to just press 3333, because your ini will burst up really fast, you must aim your skills, some tricks:
- Never open a fight with Spider Venom, your steal apply poison
- Before stacking 3 or 6 stack of bleeding, make sure to launch a Dancing Dagger, crippling your enemies will really help you, especially because you have to hit them 3x with your Death Blossom, if you don’t you are wasting initiative
- Before using Shadowstep as condition cleaner, wait until your enemies has finished his condition spamming, you risk to clean nothing (here you must know other classes skills and animations)
- Never swap weapon to take initiative, just do it when you need endurance
- Summoning Thieves while finihing a downed foe while fighting outnumbered will help you a lot, you don’t have stealth ability except CnD
- Keep dodging out of combat too, it will keep you 5-6-7 perma-stacks of might, they means 210 more condition damage
- Instead of using Shadowstep to run away from a big blop, just spam Heartseeker, reserve it for dangerous situations
Pros:
- High survivability solo-ing small groups
- Heavy Condition Damage
- Really dextrous, it can deal with many situations
- Not use of stealth, enemies cannot cry about it
- You will kill enemies as using Stealth
- Good against Champions
Cons:
- Really difficult against condition cleaner
- Condition stacking is poor, we have 3 Condition to apply only, it will make the job easier to conditino cleaner
- Need a bit of computer performance, lag and fps drop will make your life harder
Note that this build is really good in PvE too, especially soloing Champions.
If you want to play it in PvP, just go for same traits, runes, PvP Carrion Amulet and Caltrops instead of Spider Venom, your role will be Holder,

I have to admit that I like your build, I had my doubts, but it’s just so unique that it’s hard to dislike it, lol.
Suggestions:
- Change the healing bonus sigils to bloodlust or might on weapon swap. Also, take might on dodge instead if Descent.
- Change some of the runes to might duration runes instead.
- Change one of the sets to D/D for the burst combo.
What this should do is raise the amount of might you can keep up and increase your power overall, allowing you to potentially do a lot more damage.
Could you record a short video of this in action? I’m really interested to see how well it works.
Yes, playing with superior sigil of life is not so great, sigil of bloodlusts will work better.
I’m currently still testing it, it need more skill to be played of course.
I’ve never died since I’m using that, even against 20+ once
About taking a video… My laptop seriously limit me, I’m playing on lowest details and still doing 25-30 fps, I tried taking video a while ago, I was about 11 fps
I will post more info soon
Right. But “bunker Thief,” is, at least right now, an oxymoron. And every other class can perform that function better and more easily.
On your Cleric’s daggers? Yes, I did. But even a 100% critical chance will do disappointing damage with a 23% critical damage rating and 0 points in Critical Strikes. And as those crits are dependent upon weapon swap, by the time you can switch weapons again to deliver another critical Backstab, the player will likely have healed themselves.
My goal is to play a difficult build, all these common builds are so easy to play with, but I think this one is not, don’t you think so?
With a good might stacking you can reach 2,5k power, of course 23% critical damage is not so much, but remember that you are a Bunker. Everybody is able to play bunker with a Guardian, or an Ele…
I spent 10 traits in Deadly Arts instead of Critical Strikes because… there is nothing usefull in Critical Strikes for this concept build. Think, you have Mug that deal something like 2,5k damage and heal yourself isn’t it better than gain 500 HP more or get 5 might for 10 seconds?
But coming back to damage.. Yes, backstab is my main source of damage, but there is autoattack to kite your enemy while visible..
You are not obliged to go stealth everytime your Revealed debuff is gone…
Number 4th Pistol Off Hand is an interrupt, waiting for healing skill being channelled, press 4, healing skill interrupted
Please give me any suggestion
(edited by tora.3205)
“Not only is bunkering a complete opposite to that playstyle, but every other class can do it better.”
The point is I am a Thief, and I want to play Thief.
“That being said, this build has the potential for a lot of survivability. However, your damage will be poor, likely poor even by bunker standards. "
Did you see Sigils on daggers? 1+1=2, you think it will be poor anyway? It works, ofc not with the current Power, it works with might
Try to revisit this: http://intothemists.com/guides/1248-yess_mans_bunkerbackstab_thief
Btw, When I said heavy damage, of course it was about bunker damage, it’s heavy damage as being a bunker. So don’t you expect any 15k+ backstab.
I was looking for a difficult/strange build but I didn’t find any build really “strange” so I made it, I think is very good, let see it and give me feedback
Hey all, since I’ve never tried D/P because I thought it is OP (for 1vs1 ofc) I’ve made this build to solo 5-10 man zerg in WvW (maybe)
It is a bunker build with heavy damage (compared to others bunker builds..) thanks to backstab.
I still have to try it, but I was looking for a strange build to play, I’ve never seen someone with this build so I can call myself the owner of this one (maybe)
Feedback are accepted!

LOL My comment in the video , asd
Well I mean, the most difficult and efficient…
@Dee Jay I think that GW2 works on a more dynamic system of combat than others MMO, that’s why we don’t have many spells and “useless” spells, choosing a weaponset we choose a skillset, and we have to build about it. So this is not the subject of the question.
@Ensoriki
I’ve played double P/D for a week, I saw it was extremely easy because of the ranged skills that permise you to stack 6/7/8 Bleeding without going melee (very important for a thief) Does this build make difference? Wich traps are you talking about? Does it work on condition, damage or both?
Currently I’m playing a D/D Evade DB Condition build, I think it should be one of the most difficult because I play it without stealth, but what makes this build easy is just the two skills I can do. Death Blossom, Dancing Dagger, Steal.
Hi guys, the title said it all,
Wich is the most difficult WvW build have you ever played on a Thief?
I’m still looking for it…
(for sPVP I think I will open a new thread since roles are very important)
“This thieves are fun to play agaisnt”
Hi, I’m one of them, I use a D/D evading build, and my build is broken as kitten, you know why this thieves are fun to play against? Because we are thieves and we still are difficult to catch, but we does no damage compaired to others normall and condition builds.
“Beating them feel rewarding” NO! It’s just because those thief like to play as other classes to not be OP.
Just let this class need skill to be played, I’m sick to see some noobhief fight outnumber ed on 1vs3/4 just making a combo and backstab. Because yeah, they think are pro doing combos. My grandma too know those…
PS: Thief in D/D and GC, Can 20k lights, 18k medium and 16k heavy…………
That’s kitten how noobs can win playing thief, I play Thief since day one, I’ve just explained this OP build to one of my guildmates (350 Achievement points),
and we fought in sPvP yeah, he powned me many times, because of OPNESS.
Unskilled players play backstab.
Just my 2 cents.
EDIT: And D/D Backstab build does not need more skill than D/P.
Here’s my Asuran Thief, Yess Man
Here’s the updated version of Yess Man:)

Here’s my Asuran Thief, Yess Man, prepare to die!
Totally off topic, but hi!
Hey Yski, have you an Asuran Thief too? If so post your little alter
@All, I resolved updating the time clock on my PC, it was in a 3h delay
Can I Bump? Yes I Bump
Here’s my Asuran Thief, Yess Man, prepare to die!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upcoming_changes_and_features
And find the point: Dueling.
Yay
Bye
You both guys forgot Withdraw and the Shortbow, I usually down every kind of enemy in 4or5 hits, so… You are not without Initiative, then if you can’t kill your foe because of strange causes, wait the right moment to evade and swap to SB to Infiltrator’s Arrow away
It’s not so difficult, it’s just about timing
Pro-thieves usually hit more than just 10k dude, I usually hit 18-19 on light armor, 16-18k on medium armor and 12-14k heavy armor in non tanky build.
This is my record to a 80 Ranger http://i41.tinypic.com/ohlm3m.jpg
The solution is: Glass Cannon with our dear Basilisk Venom, they are medium armor, they can spec full Toughness, but they will die in few seconds anyway.
It’s time to stop this D/P 10/30/30 abuse…
There is something interesting here: Hunter’s Shot
