If this really is an account-based issue, the quickest way to fix this is for people to submit CS tickets. We can then use someone’s account to as a guinea pig to track down the problem.

People focus on the negatives too much, what about the positives in finding new friends or winning more matches?
Sometimes I wonder if people go through real life without talking to anybody because they’re scared of too many things. I get some people are shy, but you eventually need to be able to talk to people in the world. There will always be annoying and rude people, but there will always be nice and helpful people too. You just take the good with the bad.

This is the vengeance of turrets.
Perhaps the system that the game is run on is a turret and this is the effect of using daze on the system since they’re now susceptible to condis.

As the title suggests i’ve been having massive fps drop when the scoreboard pops-up in a pvp match. Pressing B has become a habit, so everytime I do this my screen freezes for 2-3 seconds, wich can be quite punishing when playing a zerk build.
Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s been happening since 2 days now.
I’ve tried repairing my client twice, sadly without results.
Really hope someone knows how to fix this, because this is pretty kitten annoying.
I really would like to have VOIP in the game, that would be like, for me personally, the best thing they could implent in PvP.
- You can mute your VOIP if u dont wanna listen
- You can actually teach/steer beginners/less experienced pvp in the matches without wasting time to type and die while doing so (which, eventually, kittenes you off even more if you cant talk through voip)
- Will enhance gameplay overall and a faster learning curve

Have you never had any issues communicating with your team? I think it’s pretty shortsighted so dismiss something because you personally don’t see it solving anything. Let me direct you to another thread where we have discussed the pros / cons of it.

I think pugs don’t type in chat because of the disadvantage of typing in a fast paced game + you never know if your message was seen/read. When on VOIP you can speak to someone directly and if they answer they heard you, if they didn’t then you can assume they didn’t.
I think TS/Mumble/etc. remains a privilege to coordinated, premade teams.
Indeed TS/Mumble/etc. VOIP programs do help people coordinate.

I like to do pvp on Gw2 but one thing boring me out. Nobody use the ready button in queue arena, and that make us lost a lot of time. In 5 matchs we lost like a game only in waiting time. Meybe change the position of the Ready button or reduce the time of waiting will be a solution!

Hi all,
As a follow-up to my post from last Friday, I wanted to give you a run-down of the changes we’re looking to make to the engineer’s turrets:
- Engineer turrets will be able to be critically hit. (Edit for clarity: this change means the turrets can take critical hits against them, but they still cannot deal critical hits themselves.)
- Engineer turrets will be able to be affected by conditions.
Considering most minions/summoned pets are already susceptible to the aforementioned changes we feel that this is a fair way to bring turrets more inline with the rest of the game. These changes should only slightly affect the viability of turrets in PvE/WvW (low creature crit chance/condition application), while providing for more counterplay against turrets.
We’d love to hear your feedback on these changes. Feel free to respond below with your comments.

While I don’t think the OP’s suggestion is exactly the change we’re going to go with, I thought I’d drop by and let you all know that the effectiveness of turret engineer is something we’re looking into very closely right now. Once our plans are a bit more concrete I’ll give an update.

Hey GreyWraith that’s unfortunate you have had bad experiences with voip.
1. I do want voip, but it’s less important if ANET develops it. I think just having it in game as an option would be great regardless of who creates it. (Example an addin that launches a partnered application)
2. Voice coms are always superior as far as GW2 is concerned.
Interesting projection, but keep in mind this would be the gw2 community vs whatever community you came from where you had a terrible experience.

4. VoiP is a way to communicate and it’s better/faster than typing. I think saying voip is not for pugs is akin to saying pugs don’t need to communicate when in fact their need for communication is probably the greatest.

This is 100% going to happen. Our Koth server is up and running and weekly 1v1 tournaments will happen soon.
I used to run the Academy Gaming tournaments for GW2.
10/0/0/30/30 worked best for me, however running venoms gave much more pressure in team fights so testing some other Condi s/d builds now…
Only thing tho is that improv trait is so OP when you get double caltrops on a point.
Metabattle canned the build? Why? I thought it was pretty effective when I played it.

Hello once again! After receiving amazing feedback on the first karaoke tournament, we are proud to announce the 2ND GW2 International Karaoke Tournament!
We learned last tournament that Phantaram angelic voice is to hard for many to handle. Even a duet couldn’t stop the multicultural phenomenon Anas Tarcis from literally coming back from elimination to win the first GW2 Karaoke Tournament! The 2nd tournament will consist of the most contestant from the first tournament with the new faces of Five Gauge! and 2 Singers looking to sweep the competition away!
Tournament Date: 8pm est (Saturday) April 11th
The tournament will be streamed (twitch.tv/itsgenyen)
Rules: The tournament will be a 8 contestant tournament (or more). It is single elimination! Songs chosen must have the instrumental music available. All contestant must act “PROFESSIONAL”. ALL contestants must have SKYPE and a working mic (CAM optional).
Winners per each round will be chosen by the VIEWERS! (Strawpoll). If the votes doesn’t match up close to the amount of viewers (rigging the strawpoll) the judges will decided who moves on.
Host: Storm & Myself(Genyen)
Round 1: Contestants may choose any songs they desire to sing.
Round 2: Contestants may be assigned a song if not they may chose another song.
Semi or Higher: Contestants may sing by themselves or sing as a group with other people(Cant sing with people who are in the tournament).
Prize: 1st: 850G & 800Gems
2nd: 100G & 800 Gems
3rd: 50G

Actually at first i thought this would be horrible
But now i kind of like it. With the ability to mute i wouldnt care about the trollers and the ragers. It could also be a nice way to get to know people in pvp solo qs better. And ofc organization is alot easier when talking. Its pretty hard to type in the middle of combat.
Id rather they balance some stuff first before they do this, but it would be cool to have in game voip. Also maybe player made channels as well.

but i doubt this will be used in matches, or at least i wont participate since id really rather not listen to someone raging at me for not rezzing them when their on mid with 4 enemies spamming aoes.
You can immediately mute/unmute ppl with 1 click, so that would be the best option. Just like in game that you can turn off map chat or team chat or just ignore it.
Biggest thing is the ability to automatically connect with your team in soloq etc. Any VOIP is a nice thing but making it absolutely convenient to listen to your team is key.
I definitely agree, but Anet has to do their part to make it accessible to Curse Voice. Hopefully they’ll look into it as other esports games have (League of Legends and Smite to name a few).
This will work great with GW2’s inability to copy text from the chatbox not.
You can paste stuff into the game, but yea its hard to copy. All you need is the 5-6 digit ending, so that’s pretty easy and fast to type in.

EDIT: Yes some people will abuse it, but mostly it will benefit. Counter Strike, Planetside 2 are just 2 examples I know of a game that has in game voice and it helps a lot. Give it a mute option and its ok.

In game voice has never helped games that had it built in.
If you are really want team communication and team based tools, the solution is obvious and it has nothing to do with Anet.

I would be pleased to have convenient in-game voice chat tool at the pugs (i.e. unorganized ppl) disposal.Your proof is all over youtube. Just go look up any FPS with built in voice coms and cringe.
I played FPS with built in VC and had only good experience. If your exp differs – give it a try. Or press mute/ uncheck settings. Mb system like dishonor: you are going to be muted for some time if was reported N times recently.

+1 even if you make the claim that it won’t change PvP it will at least make teams a tad bit more coordinated and on the same page. It will also grow the communities communication skills as a whole which is a great one to have.

The only arguement against is from the thin skinned hugbox crowd complaining about abusive players. There’s already a solution to this, it’s called reporting and muting.

With the help of Professor Demise and I, we have found a way to transfer these NPC out of the cruel never ending slaughter they have to endure everyday. We gave them a sanctuary to be safe. The reason to why these endangered species are being farmed is because we are stuck in Heart of the Mists while in tPvP/Solo Queues. With all due respect, please save these species.

This is something I’ve been bringing up recently in my streams. I don’t even think it’s a mater of if it should be put into the game. With how the game is played, we absolutely need a faster and better way to communicate with team mates, the best way being a VoIP system. If there was better PvP API Curse Voice or another third party program could easily step in and do this.
