I’ve been unable to login to the game for the past 30 mins. My internet connection is working.
This is the error message I’m getting
The game client is unable to get access to the log-in server at this time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings, security application, or connecting through a campus network.
I have not changed anything in the firewall or my router settings. Didn’t install any new software and I don’t live on a campus.
I also built my own rig, it cost me around $2750 USD ($750 was just taxes, I’m not in the US nor in Europe so Electronics that are imported are taxed higher than other goods.)
Intel CPU i7-4770 3.4GHZ
16GB Ram
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB GDDR5
I’m running GW2 on the highest settings without a glitch.

I’m up for it, I’ve already sent you a pm.
Also new to the game.
Today’s patch was around 70MB but for the past 2 days it’s been around 200-300MB which was impeding my ability to interneting.
I was so happy the patch was over quickly today, a bit surprised too.
It took me 2 weeks to download the game and every since that I am being forced to download a 200-300MB update everyday when I try to login.
When is this going to stop?
I wouldn’t mind if I had a fast connection speed but I don’t and this is frustrating me.
EDIT: sorry if this is the wrong category.

So in other words I should try them all and level them all together. I don’t mind doing that, I just have to figure out a system and stick to it.
The reason I wanna do crafting is because it’s just fun and as you said I need it to craft special end-game items so ye why not.
I’m gonna begin with Artificer and Weaponsmith for now and see where that leads.
I hope I’m making the correct choices.
I know this question has been asked before, a lot, but this is my first week here so thank you for being so patient with newcomers.
I’m a level 10 Elementalist and I’m about to start crafting and wondering what are the optimal choices for an Ele and why?
Should I go for more than 1 and switch between them?
Why is deleting a ranger an easy choice?
I’m level 15 at the moment and decided to checkout the PvP area. I am a PvE player but I kept hearing that the spoils of PvP are so great that anyone should check it out.
Is this true?
Will PvP give me exotic armors and suchs? Anything that I cannot buy at the TP or merchants?
I even tried to enter a battle but only as a spectator.
I don’t have any friends in here. Is that necessary for PvP?
Anything you can make by crafting can be bought more cheaply on the TP.
Is this true?
What good is crafting for?
At the moment, I don’t have the materials to craft anything. I’m chopping all trees and all plants on my way to quests but I’m not focusing on it. Should I give it more time or what?
EDIT: just read this topic in “Crafting” category about whether or not crafting is worth it. And I have to say, there’s a lot of mixed feelings about it, I don’t know who to believe .

I purchased a couple of items with my Karma points but that was before I read somewhere that I need to save my KP to the very end.
I already asked this question and took the advise and tried to sell them at the trading post and local merchants but I just can’t. I have a set of heavy armor that is unusable by my class that I can’t sell anywhere. I can only destroy it. Should I? Because it’s taking a lot of space in my inventory, around 15 items.
Same here.
Been stuck at the last file for 3 hours with a very slow speed (10kb/s) even though my internet connection is functioning normally at a 4Mbits.
How big is that patch anyway? I’ve counted until 210MB til it got stuck at the last file. But it’s still downloading data.
This is only my second day here. Lucky me.
EDIT: nevermind, it just finished downloading the last file. Download speed jumped from 10kb/s to 400kb/s suddenly and it was over in a minute.

Thank you for clearing up the crafting confusion I had.
So my priority professions should be Huntsman and Leatherworker. This should cover all my ranger needs, correct?
I can still learn other professions but I can only have 2 active professions at any given time.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Thank you guys, that was really helpful.
EDIT: yes, this is my first character.
So I’ve been playing GW2 for 6 hours with a Ranger Asura and I got to level 7, am I leveling too fast?
Basically I’m following the green light on the map and trying to do the hearts wherever they come up, plus I’m engaging in dynamic events (I don’t know if this is what I’ve been participating in), basically when I’m walking I get a flash saying “There’s an event near by” I go there and engage. Am I doing it right?
It’s a different than your usual MMORPG so I’m a bit confused.
I only have 2 silvers and 53 coins, is that normal for my level? I can’t afford anything in the Trading Post. Should I have more money? If so, how to get more money? Should I be wearing all my equipment at this stage (chest, gloves, boots…) because I only have a couple of those items, most of my kit is still missing.
I also have a lot of heavy armor that I cannot wear and I can’t sell either, tried on the Trading Post, didn’t let me sell them. What can I do with them?
What do I do with all these crafting materials? I know I will be able to craft once I’m level 11 but for now what do I do with all these items? Will I need them all when I hit lvl 11?
Thanks.
Hey guys,
I’ve wanted to play GW2 ever since it came out but I couldn’t due to personal issues.
Yesterday I bought it! Woohoo!
I’ve played a bit of WoW 3 years ago, got to level 50. Nothing special but I’m familiar with RPG games.
So should I know anything before I get started? I don’t wanna make a rookie mistake that will cost me later. Any particular strategy I should follow regarding Crafting and Professions?
Should I join a guild right away or can I take my time?
