I say biggest flaw is reward system not the chain of and competing events.
In LA’s rescue you had conflicting events and rewards but citizens savers seemed to forget those that zerged also saved citizens in need if close by. They simply did not spread out in the map for it. Why? Because really it didn’t pay off, there was no rewards and not enough active spawn points to some areas. It was pointless going far away on your own get ganked by a few veteran mobs and then having no spawn close by. Another mistake was also complaining about commander tags. Those could have lead players and zergs to outer locations and help citizens in far places off the map while doing the miasmas there for example, the beautiful result was that everyone then simply just stuck to bank forum area.
And this leads to why i think the design itself isn’t that bad when comes to competing events… do you really think there would be enough people in those events to help you get the 1200 as it was, if you didnt have those farming events inside?

Last couple of weeks or so i noticed some “apparent changes” in loot that I cannot confirm if it is bug or working as intended and i would like confirmation.
1- Kraka Queen: Folllowing a Tequatl kill (1 chest/day/character) i would take taht character to kill Kraka and always got a chest so I believed it was also 1chest/day/character. From around a week or two i noticed i only get 1 chest in kraka per day per account not character is this as intended?
2- Lion’s Arch release notes on rewards states that killing a knight would grant you some designated loot. Since the release I noticed depending on fixes (not sure if being on overflow vs main map makes any difference) repeatedly getting loot from just 1 knight, repeatedly getting loot from all kinghts killed, and finally repeatedly getting no loot at all from killing knights. Is it currently working as intended (or what was intended)?
I am not looking for complaint on loot just want to know if this is working as intended.

Looking for a PVE/social guild in Desolation server, active on weeknights around 21h-01h00 GMT preferably with a more mature base of players.
I’ am after a guild with players active around that time frame so I can have a chance to run pve content with guild mates. I miss doing content with guild mates and not just random players who do not communicate. Especially when new content is out is much better and funnier to try it out with guild mates.
It needs to be an International/English speaking guild as english is the only foreign language where i can effectively communicate;
About me:
- Been in Desolation since Beta and NOT willing to transfer;
- Took a break of maybe about a year and come back a few months ago;
- I would say average skilled player;
- Use TS but available to use other;
- Playing online for severall years;
- Currently have 3 level 80 chars;
- All crafts maxed (for now at least);
I understand it might read out being very “picky” but i kinda know what i am looking for.
If your guild is recruiting and if you believe it could fit what I am looking for whisper me in game or something.

One ignorant question: Does Magic Find bonus affects in any way the ascended gear drop and in what circunstances?
On topic: got on my main 1 ascended ring at level 151 (+-) on rank chest (I am currently getting close to level 300) and 1 predefined stat ascended weapon from Tequatl (with stats i have no clue they are suitable to).
Have 2 more characters level 80 never got anything else ascended…

Nope in Hard Capping if you dc you most likely will not be able to join your party or main map unless you get the spot of someone else that dc’s in the meantime.
Happened to me before in the middle of killin Teq I dcd and got stuck in overflow and receive no acknowledgement for the part i fought.

And what is the purpose of server guesting system? to allow players to experience playing in other servers and other servers comunities OR is it just intended to allow farmming other servers repeatedly?
If you read the last paragraph in my second post in this thread you will understand I am not against guesting itself but against mass guesting into a server in way that makes it unplayable for the hosting server players.
As for the last replies:
how much earlier you think is necessary? maybe 2 hours? 3 hours? 4 hours? and make sure i stay in auto run against a wall as i see so many there?
And honestly I see no point in joinning a Teq killing guild – what for ? to know where to guest for it?

Those ‘guesters’ only have a few hours to play also.
Should they be punished for being on a server that does not have the manpower or organizational skills to defeat Tequatl?
They have just as much right to do that event as anyone else. Their time is just as valuable as yours.
It may be “your” server, but that doesn’t give you exclusive rights or preferential treatment for the events that occur on it.
Yes it should give preferential treatment to home (server) users because that same event is available on each server.
In fact those that dont have enough players to do the event are those that should organise themselves to collectivly do it on either of their own servers.
Also servers have to fight on their own in WvW its not like everything is a sharing dream among all servers.
Server competion and representation is part of the game.
There are issues with population on all servers and server migrations have taken toe on all. I am on my server since beta and not planning to move even if many times i dont have people on maps to do events and such.
If your server doesn’t work for you that is not mine nor my server’s problem. Just like in WvW if you dont have the headcount that is your server problem not the other servers.

Many people at reset que for over 2 hours to get into the Main map- you are leaving it too late.If more people were prepared to learn this fight and the defence roles it should be possible to organise within 20 mins and at non-reset times.
You missed the point. I go there all that time before just to try to get in not to be on time for organization. Organization takes less than 10 min if ppl are not afk which normally they are because they have to be parked there for so long to have a chance to do it.
It doesnt make any sense that you have to gather more than 15/20 minutes before for an event that takes less than that.
Someone i cant quote right now explained the soft and hard caps thank you but i know that and what I experience is hardcap almost an hour before.
I am not against guesting as principle i just say it needs to be capped/controlled/ limited (whatever you want to name it). It should either cap guests per server or map, OR for example – and considering you can guest 2 servers a day – that you cannot guest the same server every single day (otherwise just transfer) for instance a player can only guest each server once every 2 days.

I go to sparkly fen 55 min before its time and I thrown into overflow and cant join my party on main even if i spam the join option during all that time.
How about a cap on guesting players per server?
Why will so many server guests be able to do it on my server and i have to waste my playing time trying to get in and failing to do so?
How about looking into this setting some limits on guesting?

A couple weeks ago my necromancer (light armor character) which is my armorsmith crafted 2 pieces of ascended heavy armour and I stupidly decided to complete the package to my warrior by applying the superior runes to both pieces.
Well… this left me with 2 heavy armor ascended pieces soulbound to my necromancer which he will never be able to use , that he cannot throw in the mystic forge or even salvage.
Yes I know it is my fault. Yes I know it says when applying the runes it will soulbound the item to you.
The thing is I made a very costly crafting and a stupid mistake and have no way to even get anything from it. It is probably my ignorance but i also dont get WHY is that we get an item soulbound just by adding a rune or sigil to it without even using it. There is no way to revert the soulbinding as far as I know.
So my question is why cant we even salvage the ascended item and get back at the least part of the “non-ascended” materials use on it?
Would be nice if whomever looks over these things takes this situations into consideration.

Well my main is a warrior, my 2nd 80 is a ranger.
I believe that most of the hate comes from ignorance about rangers and how they can contribute to the war effort.
They might not be the best WvW profession but i do think they matter as support to the zerg. For WvW i use a range pet and the fern hound the first on agressive mode and the second always on avoid combat why because the F2 skill on the hound that grants regeneration to you and allies.
As weapons i swap between long bow and axe+warhorn the later allows you to buff with call of the wild that grants fury might and swiftness to you and allies. My healing skill is the water spring to help out players and not only my self.
And i am not stating this is the best build for WvW its just an example how you can build the ranger to help out even if there are other classes that do same things as well or better.
Now yow cannot really expect that rangers are able to charge like an heavy class, we need to keep some distance and not get ganked or overrun.

I agree in general with ANet’s postion on nightcapping – doesnt really make sense. However and to be true to that you can’t have 2 leagues of servers based on time zone.
I don’t know if it is technically possible at this time, but all servers should play against all servers this is what makes it true for ANet’s concept. With this on there is no night cap issue. (this and ending the free server transfers…)

Desolation will hardly improve its ranks. Not well organized and apparently lost many of it WvW players and its slowly changing into a PVE server.
Personally the worst thing in WvW right now are free transfers and orbs.
It makes server rankings meaningless as WvW players keep jumping from server to server. Orbs on the other side are simply hacked and exploit constantly favoring the hackers and the servers they are playing on (nothing against the servers itself as they can jump from server to server freely).
WvW is “end game” for me but unfortunately its loosing its appeal more and more.

I am no super player and i am not concerned about not using the “perfetc combo build”.
I personally never liked GS.
I don’t like the way it looks. Seems ridiculous to me to drag a weapon or even look like you can’t hold up you blade.
In terms of traits GS is the favoured weapon. I use double axe/Hammer + rifle 90% of the time and need some deep traiting to get anything from traits like piercing shot or hammer cooldown (still too slow or is it bugged?)
Also i dont like the positioning of trail skill in 3rd. I like my targets bunched and then hitting 1-2-3 keys all the time on hammer or even on axes. After being used to that when using a GS i find myself stuck in the middle of fights by either not doing any damage as skill waiting for direction confirmation or it went through and I find myself in the middle of nowhere.
I do think that when it comes to trait lines, weapon type specifics traits should be balanced or broaden because everyone should be able to play any weapon they want without feeling like one is being forced to use something else otherwise.

Well rare craft ingredients (yellows) (not subcombines) should have a spot for them as well. If you have an artifician you will understand exactly what i am talking about: too many laying around in your inventory/bank.

Another thing our server does to farm is get about 5 people and roll around the map killing PvE mobs, it generates good drops and XP. I bring alts to level all the time in WvW just doing that on slow days. On top of that with just drops I can make almost a gold an hour.
And then there is people really wanting to fight in WvW that have to wait in queue for hours…

last night i was with my team on dungeon and an annoying tapping was over running other game sounds.
But we tracked the cause.The sound was from the “walking” of the pet of the ranger in our team. As soon as another pet was summoned the noise disappeared.
We were able to identify it because by the end of the fight the pet was still moving around and the sound remained until he stopped.

This is false problem.
The fight is supposed to be 24/7 and I would not like it any other way.
The real issue here is having servers split between US and Europe for WvW.
This creates “false” timezones in WvW.
Even if the majority of the population on a server belongs to the same timezone there are also different time lines in it West coast vs Eats coast or Uk time vs Moscow time (as examples).
What may in fact disrupt the time zone, in the current system, is when only a server (or some) have a split population from both US and EU servers.

Hi,
On Honour of the Waves Ice structure in Frostgorge Sound there is a skill point signaled.
This said I went aroun till i found a way to get up on top that boat/iceberg island. When I finnally was able to get on top the structure i start falling down to ice walls /corridors when ever i tried to jump to in lots of apparently solid things like ice stairs and platforms. I was a nightmare. Needless to say i didnt get to the way point (which maybe under water since I did not check it out yet).
Maybe we were not supposed to get up there or to be walking on that area but i don’t think it is WAI regardless.
