better level scaling (for fun exploration)

The entire Tyria could be ours to explore!!! Freely.. no barriers, no level restrictions.. it would be great. Elder Scrolls Online has the model of level scaling that I am speaking of , the “One Tamriel” system that brings all levels to a standard of equality. Bosses and other tiered enemies.. would be the same for all levels.. same level of difficult challenge and fun! Combat and exploration go hand-in-hand for me…. in Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, and Elder Scrolls Online! It is fun to fight while exploring, and if this superior form of level scaling were made, it would allow groups of players to explore together .. friends, guild members, or you could explore alone perhaps……. to explore and fight through the galaxy of hostiles!!! I think it would be a great change. I hope ArenaNet takes notice.

A Future Concern (Suggestion)

Here is my idea, for when arenanet runs out of ideas, if it happens in our lifetime (lol):

Future Expansion: The mists becomes a vast procedurally generated universe, or multiple universes, which players can explore, in personal starships, or guild-owned starships. Spaceports are placed throughout the Universe, including in Cantha/Elona’s capital city (Assuming those areas are released by this time) and Tyria’s major cities. This expansion is not so much sci-fi or high technological as mystical & magical.. so the world of Tyria doesn’t have to be altered at all. What this would allow is for players to explore freely through a vast universe or universes.. dynamic events could be implemented in a 360 degree, 3d environment.. space battles both massive and small-scale, involving guild starships or personal-class ships. The surface of the worlds would be available to explore, using procedurally generation. (I’m using the phrase ‘procedurally generated’ because to me this means that it would imply that creating such a vast universe with explorable worlds would be manageable… while doing it traditionally would be impossible or very hard). Realistic, real world problems for the player to solve, would be available… and the entire universe would be open world, this is probably possible, though i don’t know for sure.. but GW2 is instanced, and each zone is an instance.. if a universe was constructed, each new universe could become a new instance.. not sure… but seems plausible.

I hope ArenaNet gives this some thought. I know it won’t happen for a long time, if even that. But here’s hoping!

Lost Jotun Tome

“I’m so excited! This is an absolutely crucial find to the study of the Magical, ancient Jotun beings who are so misunderstood nowadays.”

“… And as they ascended the final peak, the Jotun High Wizard spoke to all those assembled in deep tones of bass, ‘Let not your hearts be worried, for upon this peak, we can seek solace and peace. And know That though I go to a greater place than all the fires that call to me here, you will be with me forevermore’. And thus, the Jotun High Wizard, named ‘Asas Kin-Farseer’ by birth name, ascended to the Dragon Fires of Jotunheim….. to guide and watch over his people for all time! And it was good.”

- From “The Annals of Jotun” by Chronicler Anan… discovered in a lost vault somewhere in Lornar’s Pass!

Less-Drama, More-PVP

in PvP

I have a suggestion for a future feature to Guild Wars 2, which would help remove drama in the PVP lobby/matches entirely.

It basically involves allowing SPVP to make use of the server vs server functionality that is present in WvW … and preventing people from other servers from speaking on YOUR Server. In PVP you’d face off against other servers instead of random match-ups.

I don’t know how much work would be required to do this, but I think it would be well worth the effort, considering that ArenaNet does not want to be bothered by all of the people reporting, either for a good reason, or for no reason at all. If the fruitless reporting stemming from the constant Drama in PVP, could be lightened… then ArenaNet would have more time and money to focus on other things, which benefits everyone.

I am not saying I know everything, but I am suggesting at least that this could be a possible solution to the drama situation in the PVP areas.

  • DO NOT USE THE -dx9single command line switch for Guild Wars 2 **

Under the latest versions of WINE, the game will be very playable, although you will experience somewhat of a Performance drop!

The game will never ever crash!

So excited to have discovered this

NPC AI Difficulty

in Suggestions

I’d like to see a new feature added to Guild Wars 2. It would allow players to increase/decrease the difficulty of NPC intelligence. This feature would be individual or group-specific, not affecting the entire game world but only a group or one player.

I realize that not all suggestions will be actually added to the game, but know that a lot of players would be very happy with this feature. Being able to increase the difficulty to a higher level for a dungeon group or just for solo play out in the world would be awesome.

Players, if you like this idea, show your support by posting such in this thread.

Thanks

I wander through the city
No one knows my name
I walk unseen and invisible
Everyone looks the same

I travel on unknown voyages
I wander through lands so vast
My journeys number in the thousands
My spells are nothing except when cast

I find what cannot be found
I seek but not yet know
My knowledge is so vast
A thousand books lined up in a row

I wish I could show you
The music in my mind
The music in my heart and soul
Fate can be so unkind

But life moves on and so do we
Always in motion is time
Endless rhythm, endless vibration
And so ends this hapless rhyme
