Agreed, Piken never had queues, now there are 20 on every BL, so Guilds cannot get into the Bl’s the way they used to, so very little of ‘Guild Wars’ can happen now. People would rather play with some lag than ot play at all

Experiencing exactly the same issue with BT (happened when I sued to play RIFT until the company contacted BT and had the game removed from the BT p2p blacklist). ANET need to get their act together now this is on the forum and contact BT and explain the issue and see if a change, either by BT or by ANET, has caused them to be classified as a p2p. I have also posted on my Guilds forums and asked people to post here and on the BT forum, suggest people get everyone they know to post in both and get some attention to the issue

I am tired of people moaning about the way AM plays, It is very unfair saying that they are just a mindless group that has no skill and their players cant play the game and can only survive if they are in, what some people unfairly say, is a ‘blob’ . People should realise and appreciate how much discipline it takes to run around for many hours never having to think about how to play or venture into the realm of getting skilful at the game, so please give them a break. Rather than rant and rave about their numbers reflect on how much you would hate to have to adopt that type of play and be thankful that you are not forced to adopt it.
It is not true that when they face the same numbers in a fight they just melt and are commonly referred to as ‘walking loot bags’ so please don’t disparage their play style, it does take a lot of skill to stay in the centre of a massive group and to not expose yourself situation where you may need to use keys that are unfamiliar to you.
AM have definitely progressed in their tactics…before it was just 100 man gps running around, not stopping for anything…but they are far more advanced than that….they now drop siege for open field fights even though they outnumber the attackers by at least 3 or 4 to 1 and defend sup camps with ballista / acs …so please don’t say nothing has changed, give them a break.
To help them keep progressing at the rapid rate they have already have shown in the past year (see above) and maybe improve their enjoyment of the game, here are some other hints from the acclaimed tome ‘How to WVW for Dummies, Volume 1’
1. If you face 30 people…there is no need to port away…you may just beat a gp by outnumbering them 3 to 1, it does not always need to be 10 to 1 for you to win
2. If your commander runs away you don’t always have to run with them. If you stay you may discover that you have other keys you can use to fight (see above about your hopeful wvw progression over the next year)
3. If your game suddenly speeds up and you find that when you click your number 1 button it works when immediately, ‘the game is not broken’, that’s the speed it is meant to run at so please don’t raise a bug ticket, you are just experiencing what we experience when we are not playing against you.
4. If you find that a keep is defended by 5 players and 1 AC that does not mean you cannot take it, so don’t always leave and try to find one that is undefended.
5. There are more movements available to you than Forward and Back, check you key mappings and ensure you know where Left and Right are. Once you are comfortable with that, and it may take a while, there is a ‘skill’ called Dodge, it helps you avoid damage.
6. There are skills other than the Number 1 key (try this…..1..then 2 and back to 1 to start with, I don’t want to overcomplicate your play style), you may see your character do a different kind of animation. Don’t be scared of trying this, once you have mastered the 1 and 2 keys, you can then try a different rotation, 2 then 1 then 2, or 1 1 2, or 2 1 1…..there are many ways to combine these keys so don’t be afraid to experiment. I admit this does take some advanced motor skills, using more than 1 finger to play, but it could double the amount of skill you develop, so if at first you keep pressing 1 when you brain is trying to tell you to press 2, it is called ‘muscle learned behaviour’, it will take time to master the 1 and 2 keys but preserve and don’t give up, you have spent a whole year training your muscles to only press the 1 key so don’t expect doubling your hand / eye coordination to come easily or naturally.
7. If you cant manage to take a tower or keep within 30 secs, it does not mean that your opponents are cheating, check things like ‘reinforced doors’ (these are harder to break through) and if the Lord has Defiance (this works the want it is meant to, no matter how many people you have hitting the Lord you cannot kill it) wait until the buff goes and do not get frustrated that you may have to stay in the same place to gain xp.
8. Every so often check that your ‘auto run’ key is not stuck, this may explain why you
sometimes run of cliffs or away from a battle.
If you require any additional tips on how to play the game please see https://www.guildwars2.com/en/manual/ , this explains some other areas of the game you may want to explore to increase your enjoyment.

Dear Shadowraith,
Thank you for your previous respect earlier in the week, we are obviously very devastated that we appear to have now lost that precious gift you gave to the Guild.
The Board of Directors will convene an Emergency Board Meeting this evening to discuss how, as a Serious Corporation, we can once again redouble our efforts in wvw to get back onto your ‘Respect List’ that is, no doubt, a short list.
If we find any Employee who is not performing their utmost to change your perspective of the Guild we will immediately place them on one of our ‘Induction into VcY’ courses that lasts 3 weeks and is run by our own internal HR Departments.
Obviously some of our actions or posts have been misinterpreted by you so from now on we will vet any aforementioned communications through our PR department to try and get the balance right between being informative and humorous. Whilst we cannot gauge every individuals sense of humour, we have, in this instance, upset and caused you some very personal angst and for that we humbly seek your forgiveness.
Can I implore you to fill in form H341 and send it to..
Human Resources Department
3rd Floor
Corporation House
26 Serious Street
London
and mark the subject (top right of the form) ‘I have no sense of humour’ so we can immediately relate the form to your post.
If you feel that our response above is not sufficient then we have several other forms and procedures we can invoke so feel free to comment on this post and I will personally take it upon myself (despite being heavily involved in other HR activities this week, including a ‘Health and Safety’ course relating to the use of ‘conkers in the playground’ and another course on ‘Sense of Humour…not everyone has one’) to review your response and see if we have managed to strike the correct balance between ‘Effective Communication’ (another course we run) and ‘Jocular Activity’ (we normally don’t need to run this course as the Guild Members always have fun being part of the Corporation).
Yours most humbly
Pantheism (Chief Liaison Officer)

It has come to the attention of the HR department of VcY that some of our employees working in the banking division, have noticed some market volatility in commodities recently being traded on the open market.
Wild fluctuations in prices are not good for the overall economy and can lead to artificial bubbles and extended recessions should the market implode.
Of course, as a serious corporation we asked our internal Trading Investigations Branch to try and gather evidence of deliberate manipulation of the markets. They have uncovered some interesting evidence of UW deliberately trying to swamp the market with their bags and this was captured in the following image which shows a small UW scouting party arriving at Bay this evening.
Obviously this gratuitous use of numbers to depress the value of all items on the Markets is a cynical ploy to allow UW to purchase siege as prices plummet, this has been witnessed many times this week. With scouting parties this size it is inevitable that when their main group comes defenders have no room in their bags and what they have collected is rendered worthless.
VcY implores UW to make smaller scouting parties so our bags fill up more slowly and we have time to sell our items before the market value falls.

Hi,
I normally hate reading on forums a very ‘general’ questions in Class topics but there is a reason for doing so. I have a level 80 Guard that has lay dormant for 6 months but I am finally going to waken him up and run him in www. We have several great Guards in the guild but I want to see what is the most viable combination with a Shield. It would be easy to ask in Guild for advice, but the reason for posting on the forum is that Guilds can tend to get into very similar builds which fit the Guilds playstyle, so I would appreciate a view from other Guardians outside of the Guild.
Now, I know, from what I have read and what my Guildies say, that the Sword is not so much a no no, but there are better offhand weapons for WVW (where I intend to primarily be defensive, support) but I really want to run the Shield, so which weapon fits best with a Shield?
I would also like any advice for the second set, I dont really want to run a GS, I am fine with a Hammer or any other combination (Sword / Focus etc) but I would prefer not to run with a Staff (but would be interested in what scenario Staff works best).
Based on Shield being a ‘given’ (and there may well be cries of ’Noooooo, give the Shield to a warrior) if you have any builds that could be linked that would be great.
Apologies for such a ‘general’ question in a specialist forum, but approaching it from a ‘I know nothing’ rather than a ‘I think I know something’ about the topic will hopefully explain the reason.
Thanks

Following a meeting of The Management last night, we would like to extend our thanks to Rof and WSR for a great week of matchups. As this week was the first week VcY focussed once again on WvW, both servers have been most welcoming and did their best to ensure that we did not break the 3 rules we introduced (as you can see from the latest videos posted above) recently.
Unfortunately we had to suspend the rules during our GVG with NAZ.
After a slow start by NAZ they adapted and adopted new tactics and the last fight was much closer, so kudos to them. We were surprised a little by the ‘attempted mugging’ as we stood there bowing whilst holding fireworks at the end of the GVG, but apparently that is now standard practice (we have been away from GVG for a while but will remember this new tradition next time we GVG) and we recovered quickly (although there where a few expletives in TS initially)
Good luck to Rof and WSR for the next match up

Hello people, this is Pantheism from the Vcy HR departement. It has come to managements attention that there has been some letters of complaint sent to the Complaints Division since reset that have alluded to unfair fights that Vcy have been accused of.
We take matters like this very seriously and convened a Board meeting to discuss and resolve the issues highlighted.
In summary..
1. We will try not to fight any server groups where we are not outnumbered at least 2 to 1 as this is being construed as giving us an unfair advantage. Ideally we would want at least a 2 1/2 to 1 ratio of enemies to us
2. We will, as a rule, try and even the battle by ensuring there is enough time for any enemies we encouter to rez their fallen so that they can repeatadly join the fray
3. We will run with smaller bags to ensure we need to quit the battlefield more frequently, leaving it open for the other servers to roam without hinderance.
A memo has been sent to all Vcy members reminding them of these rules. If you should enounter any breaking of these rules the please send form A3f267 to our Complaints Division and we will review and respond in accordance with our Articles of Corporation, section 17.4, subsection 3A
