Except mesmer loses vs thief, ranger (condi especially), dps guard, shoutwarrior (unless perfect plays from the mesmer) and more.
If we’re really talking about 1v1 then DPS guard (if you know when they are going to use gap closers) burns down fast, and you have so many options when it comes to shattering the ranger (illusion IV is especially hepful).

IMO Mesmers can finish a d/d ele off, but it takes a while since they dont have a sustained burst, but can kite like hell around the ele. Shattered Concentration is a nice trait because of the boon rip, you can try the mtd-shatter build

What I dont like is that DE should be minor because its bread&butter of every shatter build, if not most mesmers. Now you need to put 6 instead of 4 points to dueling for not much rly. Besides that I’m rly happy about the traits, were finally getting something good! That might even explain the offhand

I’ve been pvping kittenter for quite a while and cant really decide which spec is better… with staff i have much more mobility + chaos storm, on the other hand there is sword2 distortion and iLeap.
Im curious which weapon set is more popular among mesmers? Gs/staff or gs/sword+troch? (or maybe pistol/focus?). Can someone experienced explain pros and cons of each?
