Most of the people on my server (Jade Quarry) donate siege to commanders without being asked. Last week one of them said he got around 50 sup siege and 5g from a player.
I didn’t know not donating was actually a thing.
Within the last few months or so it’s taken me a good five minutes to load into Lion’s Arch, when before it would only take ten seconds. After the initial loading time, however, it takes maybe ten seconds.
The attached picture is me WPing to LA, leaving my computer for ten minutes, and coming back. The unacceptably long load times persisted after a reformat, as well.

Is this a problem that I can fix, or is it just the result of ANET’s changes to the game?
Yeah, I tried leveling an Elementalist by exploring, and just gave up.
Snowden Drifts? Lornar’s Pass? Forget that, why bother when the maps are empty and you can grind the Harathi Hinterlands chain for massive exp?
So much for the dynamic events and global group interaction that was hyped up pre-release.
I just gave up trying to play Ranger and succumbed to ANET’s obvious preference for Warrior and used one.
I miss having faith in the developer.
not much else to say.
+1
but wait we " on forum" are the minimal part…

“And I turn my back forever on grinding, which is artificially lengthening gameplay…”
Well that guy had best keep on turning, because that’s all this game has become…
I remember watching the pre-release commentaries and being so hyped for this game….Sigh.
Vast, desolate wasteland.
-excluding champ trains
-and world bosses
I miss going into a zone and actually running into people adventuring.
Tell him to do DEs, it’ll be nice to see someone actually doing them.
Events that don’t include champion mobs are rather pointless unless you need the XP.
Which is a real shame, I’m hoping Anet will expand the dynamic events and make them worthwhile for max level characters as well, in all zones.
Most fun I’ve had in this game was doing those events with huge number of players when first leveling up.
Right? I remember doing a defense mission at a fort/castle in Metrica Province with what must have been twenty people. It was great. Nothing like that ever really happens anymore.
I’m running around Timberline Falls on JQ right now…The map is nothing but orange because of all of the events. No one bothers with them anymore, and it isn’t much fun soloing them….I put out a call on map chat and got zilch…Lol…
DE were pushed and promoted pretty hard prior to release, but it seems as if both ANET and the players have abandoned them. Sucks, too, since they were what drew me to the game in the first place.

Around the time the game first came out, if you announced a defense/escort/gathering mission in map chat, you’d get 20 people flocking toward it, and some of them got really hectic/fun with that many people participating.
Now, hardly anyone comes when you ping an event, and those running by usually just ignore the event altogether.
I dunno, I just kind of miss that experience of randomly running into groups of people working together. I don’t really see it outside of world bosses/champ trains anymore.
