are you currently on a lga1151 socket? if yes, then the 6700k is the most powerful cpu you can currently buy.
and no, that cpu is not overkill for gw2. the only thing that matters in this game is single core speed – the latest i7 k models (6700k for lga1151 or 4790k for lga1150) do have plenty of that, with the included ability to overclock them for even more juice.
gear shield nerf was totally unneccesary, gyro nerf is not good, literally every useless piece of this class was not touched. but thank god they improved the physical damage on the burning bomb. and don’t forget the damage buff on rocket boots, a skill which was only used for dps anyway – nobody would ever dare to care about the glitching jump end anyway.
just how far can you be detached from your own game?
Bump this to the top!
I want a leggy cape!!
Cape won’t happen, but Wings made of crystallized salt would be nice
it won’t solve the blob problem, since people enjoy steamrolling everything.
it will only lead to one or more maps being completely abandoned while the other 2 maps are blobfests.
also, there was a poll about exactly this question, which ended with not enough votes for different borderlands (people fear being in a disadvantageous position because of their home border rng choice), so the desert borders will stay in rotation quarterly.
This bug happens once player-models disappear due to your character limit settings.
once the models disappear, the nameplate stays in place until they appear again (either you target them – or somebody in your group does – or they get so close that they would be rendered again).
The problem with this is: wvw is very fps intensive sometimes, many players play with the character limit on “lowest”. The bug makes following enemy movement impossible since you cannot see them move, so you are stumbling through the battlefield without knowing your enemy’s position, even if they are in range for pressure (on lowest character limit they can be literally next to you and you don’t notice them).
a possible workaround at the moment is setting character limit to “highest”, although that absolutely murders your framerate.
i have relatively few experiences in lua,
but if it supports json-deserialization and httprequests, that will work.
other popular options are c#, java, node.js or php (all of these are easy-to learn imho)
Same problem here. Stuck in “Match is in progress” after being caught in Courtyard on Wednesday. Also, i get these “Client cannot connect to login-servers” after every loading screens since i was bailed out of the bug map.
My concerns so far with the Squad UI, especially in WvW:
No Boon/Condition Indicators
Absolute gamebreaker for me. Raiding without visible stability-timers and condition-indicators is straight up impossible. Clearing conditions “when you feel it’s the right time” is kitten. you need to see, when your teammates are under condition-pressure, and you need to react on time, which is not possible with the current implementation.
More than one Tag
Would be nice, if subsquads could have their own tags, or something comparable, so you can see, where they are around you as well as on the mini-map.
The black bar
the bar at the top of the squad-ui (only for the commander) is horribly distracting.

i made a little video about it.

seems to be the case again.
https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/account returns
{
“text”: “ErrBadData”
}
So, the match_details.json-endpoint no longer returns owner_guild-uuids.
https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/wvw/match_details.json?match_id=1-1 for proof
this seems to be broken since the “May-19-2015”-Patch, the last time my tracker tracked a claim was 2015-05-19 16:00:02 UTC (Guild “Dull Egotistical Raiding Party[DERP]” claimed “Rogue’s Quarry” in Matchup "Stormbluff Isle-Maguuma-Henge of Denravi (T3-NA))
Intended? I hope not :>
may be based on how many characters you created during the stresstest.
guildie of mine deleted his revenant and created a mesmer afterwards, got 2 chests
Maybe they’re rewarding people who farmed a beta key, that seems to be a common thing among the people in my guild. Will be some fun forum threads if it were true ;D
i don’t have one
but i would take one, you know, arenanet?
Ask the sender if it wasn’t a mistake, if it is send it back.
Sometimes people misclick and send a mail to the wrong person.
official arenanet mail though, with the red logo and so on..
Hey there,
i just received a random heroic chest via mail..
i didn’t buy a heroic edition nor a deluxe one.
i didn’t have my account reinstated.
i don’t know why. did i do something? account birthday? something?
i’m officially confused now..
also, the search in this forum isn’t working.
It.. it’s over..
after nearly 2 years of desperate fight, it’s over..
guys, we can finally die in peace now..
will there still be a way to access something like those oauth offline-tokens? that is essential for my plans.
if not, that would be even sadderYes, API keys do not expire unless the user revokes them.
very nice, that’s what i wanted to hear.
Very sad, i liked the oauth system.

Hey there,
I have accepted my test-app for my account, but it does not show up in the /account/applications app-list at the bottom.
Am i doing something wrong,
is that intended or is that just not implemented yet?
Also: what would the response look like if i try to get an access-token with a refresh-token when the account-owner removed that application from his list?
thanks in advance
holy kitten, thank you :o
The boosters from my 10k-AP box do not stack with the boosters in my bank.
now i have either a cluttered inventory or a cluttered bank.
not very good.
ignore everything above.
with 300$ you would not get a better performance, since you would need a new motherboard AND a processor better than your current one. i don’t think that little increase (if there would be one) would be worth 300 bucks. a low i5 will not run the game notably faster or smoother.
If you want to upgrade, get a better graphics card, so it looks beautiful while cpu-lagging. Maybe you can find a gtx760 or something comparable for less than 200$. GTX960 (the newer generation) does not offer much improvement to its predecessor, has a lower memory-speed and throughput and it is like 40-50$ more expensive.
Hey there,
first of all, i’m sorry i’m posting in in this forum, i didn’t find any other forum this request/question would fit into.
My Question:
I got some GW2-Textures from reddit (they were posted ages ago), which seem to be extracted from the .dat-file. They are most of the time just white-on-black mashes or concept art, however, they would fit into my current art / information-project perfectly, since the official media-kit only gives me 4 or 5 different shapes. Am i allowed to use these textures?
Of course with the arenanet, nc-soft and guildwars2-logo underneath it.
Thanks in advance
Some time ago the api threw me this:
anet_id, name
1, Anvil Rock [D]
4, Henge of Denravi [D]
3, Yak's Bend [D]
2, Borlis Pass [D]
50, Dragon's Grove [D]
66, Gandara [D]
5, Maguuma [D]
6, Sorrow's Furnace [D]
68, Blacktide [D]
65, Kodonur [D]
9, Fort Aspenwood [D]
70, Vabbi [D]
67, Kodash [DE] [D]
8, Jade Quarry [D]
7, Kaineng [D]
69, Istan [D]
i still don’t know what that’s supposed to be by the way.
however, the world_names API ist still returning rubbish, which started at 2014-05-21 22:22:43 UTC (that was the last response with a working list i got)
First problems appeared on may 19th somewhere around 1 o’clock in CET.
Edit: Some working world_names.json for backup-strategies as of now:

With the OAuth2-System, will we be able to identify the current map-instance? would be pretty cool. That may be a way to make the api useful again (replacing the world-id in the API-Call with somethink like an Megaserver_Instance_UUID)
(edited by werdernator.6105)
Well… I think after 1 year and no positive response we can start loosing hope : <
No! The day we lose hope may come. It may be a day of sorrow and pain. But this day, hear me, this day is not today, it is not tomorrow and it is not in the foreseeable future. We can fight, we will fight, and we will get what we want. Fight with me, fellow engineers, fight with me until oblivion has come!
Any plans how to make ascended Soldier armor? There are no inscriptions, so does ANet plan to add them? or will there be no soldier equipment at all?
Nice fights at Piken-BL Hill

That is quite nice. Wish someone would do this for na :o
They haven’t even finished their matchup ^^
NA-Graphics shall be posted on reddit tomorrw
I already posted these at reddit, so i’m gonna do this here, too
I didn’t know wether i should post it to “WvW-Discussion” or “Fan-Generated Content” since it is a bit of both.

Hey there, i actually tried that some time ago and got it to work with XAML (WPF-Application):
<Window x:Class="Gw2WvWMapInterface.MainWindow"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:m="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.WPF;assembly=Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.WPF"
xmlns:a="clr-namespace:AnetTileProvider"
Title="MainWindow" Height="500" Width="550">
<Grid>
<m:Map Name="mainMap" CredentialsProvider="[your bing key]" Background="White">
<m:Map.Mode>
<m:MercatorMode/>
</m:Map.Mode>
<a:AnetTileLayer UriFormat="https://tiles.guildwars2.com/2/1/{z}/{x}/{y}.jpg"></a:AnetTileLayer>
</m:Map>
</Grid>
</Window>
You need to download a dll from Microsoft to get that to work though (only you, not the user) and register for a Bing maps key (since that thing is Bing-Based)
also, for the custom Tile format to work, you need this code implemented:
namespace AnetTileProvider
{
public class AnetTileSource : Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.WPF.TileSource
{
public override Uri GetUri(int x, int y, int zoomLevel)
{
return new Uri(UriFormat.
Replace("{x}", x.ToString()).
Replace("{y}", y.ToString()).
Replace("{z}", zoomLevel.ToString()));
}
}
public class AnetTileLayer : Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.WPF.MapTileLayer
{
public AnetTileLayer()
{
TileSource = new AnetTileSource();
}
public string UriFormat
{
get { return TileSource.UriFormat; }
set { TileSource.UriFormat = value; }
}
}
}
looks like sfr-border.
We have a wvw-event running there, called “liquid raid”
about 80% of the zerg may be drunk by now.
maybe it’s worth noting i have auto-targeting switched off, but that’s switched off always, and rapid fire always worked until this patch).
works at least on most targets, thank you.
Unfortunately that doesn’t work on enemies with those huge target-signs (most world-bosses)
edit: well, doesn’t work at all, sorry. worked on a centaur, but haven’t had a enemy since that one your solution worked on
(edited by werdernator.6105)
Sorry if this bug was already posted, i couldn’t get the forum-search to work.
So, “Rapid-Fire” (Ranger Longbow, 2nd Skill) seems to lose focus as soon as you lose sight (via zooming or turning the camera away, not character-sight but camera-sight)
Is this intended? I couldn’t find anything about that in the patchnotes and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like that before.
(edited by werdernator.6105)

What does the match_details API return, if a ruin is currently neutral? Simply “Neutral”?
The API doesn’t give information about nodes, and that’s good, because that would only attract bots..
Have to push that.
Read reddit for more on this topic. (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1fmkbt/state_of_the_game_t6_mats/)
Especially the way dust is used in this game (in many many of the high-level recipes) makes this a huuuge problem. I’m waiting for the day when there are no crystalline dusts left in the tradingpost. That will be aweful.
Please, A’Net, do something about that!
Since people aren’t farming Orr as hard as they did it 2-3 months ago anymore, the available dusts become less and less, giving this item a increase in price of nearly 15s as of today. That’s nearly 1/3 of it’s original price before the nerfs that made it hard to loot dust. We actually have a supply of 1839 in the trading post. May 24th there were nearly 10.000. Problem? The orders increased slightly, so the demand is still the same.

2. : item_id -> ID of the item, crafted from the recipe
3. : name -> Name of the item

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/59473-ranger-pve-lirus-criticalpet-synergy-build-guide/ for sword/horn, maybe you can adapt some things from there. i know it’s a little bit outdated since it was updated the last time somewhere around the end of 2012, but th core works pretty good. also: take some knight’s gear, since you’re going to be melee and aggro will switch to you from your pet now and then.
Hey there!
I’m currently building a melee-ranger (yeah, hate me!!), because i like the feeling and gameplay of the 1hand-sword. It was mentioned here like 1000 times: you can’t dodge while in midjump (while autoattacking). Are there any plans to fix that in the near future? That would make the 1h-sword much more enjoyable..
