I think it was your GM who created the post saying that majority of you guys are going to try Neverwinter because of the stale WvW, am i right ?? So, out of curiosity, how many of you guys transferred to SoR then ??

WvW was stale on EU T1 but most of our players have returned for NA T1 as it’s better than expected. Neverwinter and TERA couldn’t keep us away, we missed GW2 too much

Our guild hasn’t had this much fun in months! More of our members are active again and we’re excited for what the rest of the week will bring. Thanks again to the fantastic SoR community and it was definitely the best decision IRON could have ever made

We’d like to say that IRON has officially moved to Sanctum of Rall NA T1. We were born and bred on Desolation and had a fantastic time there since the game started. We really needed something new in WvW to bring our players back, so I hope that you will understand and there are no hard feelings.

Keep fighting the good fight and best of luck with the rebuilding, I’m sure you’ll make us all proud. It’s very admirable that the brave Desolation players and guilds battle on, I wish you all the best in the weeks/months to come.

Our sister Iron Hall PvX guild (300 members) remains on Desolation and we’ll miss everyone there, HF and GL

Hello all, IRON is officially moving to SoR! We are very much looking forward to being part of T1 NA and hope to make a difference during EU timezone. Clashing against the skilled guilds of JQ and BG will be an exciting new experience which I believe will bring fresh fun to our guildies and we will be out looking for challenging fights

It was a very difficult decision under time constraints during a power shift in T1, but we decided on SoR mainly for the sake of balancing T1 competition with more equal opposition. Perhaps this will also encourage more guilds to move to SoR to even out their coverage further. I’m sure that we’ll have a great time here and its community seems as friendly and organised as we could wish for.

I have utmost respect for the other servers and my apologies for not joining, I hope there are no hard feelings. Many thanks to the various leaders, I appreciated all your time for queries and looking after our scouts.

Congrats to BG for winning two weeks in a roll and I sincerely hope that JQ comes back hungry next week for a close three-way even match up – see you all on the battlefield, new friends and enemies

You know, it’s not like I have lots of love for IRON as my posting history shows, but for all the crap they’re getting, they never bandwagoned on the current fotm server… rather, they stood on Deso and helped rebuild during the two periods in which the server fell in trouble.

Not many left, now, after not even a year from game release, who can claim having done the same. Especially not between the so-called “hardcore” WvW guilds.
We might be using different interpretations of “hardcore” here…

I know that our server is very busy in WvW these days, so we just have to continue working together and involve more random players to make it the best WvW server it could possibly be.

As Zaowi said, we’re looking for other timezones, but dedicated European WvW guilds are also welcome from lower tiers!

We’ve improved co-ordination between our various guilds and commanders with bi-weekly meetings, as well as increasing activity on our community forum and Teamspeak.

Holding our own in T1 so far this weekend, let’s see how the rest of the week goes!

Last night’s server alliance meeting was a roaring success, with leaders from twenty guilds attending! Thank you to all the guilds who are joining the initiative for improving our WvW presence for Tier 1. We are aiming to work together to cover all maps, as well as inviting PvE players to participate more in WvW.

Our population is very high/full during Euro primetime, but what Desolation still needs is late night/early morning coverage against the other two Tier 1 severs. For those guilds from a different timezone, it will be easy for their members to transfer because it won’t be full during off-peak hours.

Let’s be lovers, not fighters! Thank you for making the best WvW thread of 2013 so far, brilliant idea

We were on Desolation for the entirety of the beta (we actually declared it as the unofficial UK server prior to BWE#1 when all the country-specific communities were scrambling to claim servers). It was simply due to our history with the server, and the fact that we’re a UK guild, that led us to think it was a good place to look for new members.

In short, we’re having a hard time recruiting on Blacktide, largely due to language differences, and are having to look elsewhere. Moving to another server (possibly Desolation) is being discussed as well, and that may unfortunately end up being our only option – we shall see.

It might make more sense for a UK guild to move to Deso, instead of recruiting Deso players to BT with the language differences. Mohammed and the mountain

We are all delighted about the news that Kaz Legacy has decided to transfer here. Excellent to have another active WvW guild working together in battle. We promise you won’t regret the decision, let the good times roll!

Congrats to Desolation for overtaking Elona on Wednesday late night to stay in Tier 2! We’re having a close fight with Baruch Bay this week, so join in with the action!! An ex-FSP guild has joined us, along with some individual players from other servers. We’d love to have more people, so please get in touch!

Desolation server in Tier 2 would be the best place to be for you! The WvW action is great fun, organised and always busy, but no queues or nightcapping (better than Tier 1). Our server is English-speaking with a close group of WvW guilds sharing TS and our leaders invite more players/guilds to join us.

We’re a popular English-speaking server and looking for WvW guilds from all timezones and servers to transfer to join us. We:

[IRON] is a hardcore WvW guild of 250 active members with strong leadership, experienced commanders and battle camaraderie. We are looking for mature teamplayers who spend the majority of their time in WvW, with quality characters that contribute to the strength of [IRON]. We take pride in our focus on WvW and enjoy a strong reputation within GW2 for our integrity and tenacity.

As one of the largest WvW guilds on Desolation, have been here from the start and would never transfer. Either epic wins or hard losses, we welcome all challenges in any tier and won’t quit. We stay united as [IRON] for our love of good fights in WvW and have developed an active community within our large group of players. While we’re serious about WvW, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and always have a laugh.

We hold a guild meeting and group farm every Friday evening prior to being ready in force for the WvW midnight reset with allied guilds.

WvW:

We have strength in numbers but also the skills and tactical knowledge to match. Our roster of commanders is highly respected on the server and there will always be one leading during primetime. There are no set raid times because our guild is always in WvW 24/7 and members jump in at anytime for any duration. We have a militaristic style that is required in a guild focused on WvW, plus being on Teamspeak is mandatory.

We concentrate on borderland maps (not EB) and can organise large cohesive groups. As the backbone of Desolation’s core WvW, our role is large-scale zerg vs zerg combat. We also place emphasis on training, implementing strategy and guarding/defending locations. Whilst we need all players to stick with the commander, those who prefer scouting and supply capping are also appreciated.

If you are as committed about WvW as we are, then this hardcore guild consisting of like-minded players would be the perfect place to call home in GW2.

You:

If you are already on Desolation and spend most of your time in WvW, then you would have seen or followed our squads in WvW. So sign up with our guild to make a difference for your sever and become part of the [IRON] pain train! We require that you spend your GW2 time in WvW, be on TS and only represent [IRON].

If you are on a different server, then you will not regret transferring to compete in EU Tier 1. There is a tight-knit community of friendly WvW guilds working together for Desolation without egos. Join this busy Tier to enjoy high-end active WvW gaming with a dedicated WvW community.

If you have only played WvW casually, then you might find that being part of an organised team on voice comms will be a better experience. Alternatively, you can try us out by having access to our Teamspeak for whenever you want to go into WvW.
