Absolute +1. ArenaNet are not realizing that they are killing not just the main thief skill itself but also some of the traits that are related to it and that they worked so hard on. GG, ANet, disregarding your own hard work.

Since when 1 gold and a crapload of blue items is considered a good reward? Especially if you happen to run it with people who refuse to listen and you spend like an hour and a half inside? =/

Hi ANet team, players,

I saw that there’s a thread about the bug with the laser (haven’t paid attention so I won’t comment on this), but I’m surprised there’s not thread about Tequatl becoming invisible after the defense phase.

Basically, what happens is this:

• Defense phase kicks in after his hp reaches 75%;
• People successfully defend the batteries and laser and move back to double damage spot;
• You pick your reason for the bug:
  # Some say it is caused by excessive damage dealt to Tequatl;
  # Or maybe just a wrong behaviour by the code;
• When it’s time for Teq to come back to “life” and everyone to go to their positions, we instead get the animation where he takes off again while in fact, he, as an object, he is still on the same place (also shown there on the mini map)
• Bone walls are spawned randomly afterwards, the usual rotation is DPS -> Destroy bone wall -> back to DPSing invisible Tequatl;
• Defense phase kicks in again, upon successful defending the laser, Tequatl lands?! again and you just DPS him to death.

Bonus chest rewards usually get bugged too and you only get two chests as a reward.

My complaint here, and probably the complaint of many players who do Tequatl on daily basis just for the challenge, is not about the bug with the rewards that occurs, but with the fact that simply stacking under his head and bashing him to death takes away the fun of actually participating in the kill process of one of the hardest champions in-game. Not to mention that many of the achievements required for the “The Sunbringer” title are also nearly impossible to get facing the current problem.

I would be grateful if we get a response from the ANet team if they’re aware of this issue.

Haha, I second this so badly. I’ve kicked one of our member like 4 times already. Must agree that it’s a poor UI, especially when you’re trying to join a guildie on another map and the option itself is placed right above the Kick from guild button.

Everyone who says that Tequatl needs to be nerfed should stop trying to find a good map 5-10 minutes before his spawn. Good maps are getting hardcapped kitten minutes before the spawn so if you really want to do him, just port in Sparkly Fen and wait like all of us.

Tequatl needs absolutely no nerfing, in fact, with that invisibility bug lately, we’re trying to NOT over dps him (yes, this is how full our map is).

OP, you’re welcome to whisper me tonight before the spawn, just make sure it’s early enough, and I will taxi you to our map.

No, people can walk up to the dungeon entrance and first start “Story Mode”, then complete it, then repeat but this time open “Explorable Mode”. Then people use the LFG and state they’re newbies and they need help. Party gets full, you do the instance, everyone’s happy.

Seriously, after reading the forums during the last couple of days I’m actually starting to wonder if ANet actually saw a good reason behind dumbing down the leveling and player experience…

Edit: And just before you demonize me, I’m not a path seller but a player who had and still occasionally has his deal of pugging dungeons. Telling me people can’t get into playing given content because of sellers or whatever other reason is just a poor excuse for people’s laziness to learn or work their way through.

Dungeon running can barely make a fraction of the profit TP players can. And you want to reduce the already limited amount of loot we can get in game? I mean the gold reward is LIMITED to once per day. You… no. Please don’t ask for the one thing in the game that gives an okay reward to be nerfed. My thief that I made after the feature patch just hit 80 yesterday. At level ~75 I had only 3-4 traits unlocked… Note that 1 or 2 of them were unlocked in WvW. Seeing the requirement to get a trait seems as if ArenaNet tells me how I should play: go to this territory, find this, complete this map, finish that dungeon…

I really, really dislike the new system; it doesn’t give us any flexibility as in trying out new builds or even trying out the build you want unless you complete half the world map and half the dungeons. So now, instead of being able to actually experiment with my thief build, I had to pick one from the internet and just go and mindlessly grind the traits.

Please reconsider the new system, it does more damage rather than helping out.

I was thinking about buying GW1 in order to get some nice skins and titles, but guess what – nope.

Exactly, it’s so extremely situational that it even kittenes me off. The fire ele does kitten damage, the water ele does nothing pretty much, air is wtf?! and earth can only be used as a meat (rock) shield. And what’s even more annoying is that when you tell them to use whatever kitten spell they have, it’s bloody channeling so it will interrupt whatever channel you’re currently doing.

I’ve always thought that “Experienced” in the LFG means that I should have Experience booster running. That’s why I always bring my lowbie alts to the “80 | Experienced” parties since my goal is to be 80 and I’m using experience booster.

I’m back on this thread, leveling a new character at the moment and I want to express that I’m still very disappointed by the new traits system. As many before me have stated, the new trait system does not only make your character weaker, but also makes it very frustrating to unlock traits, to experiment around with your build or to change it accordingly to the situation. At times, those few points that you could get in one trait line or another could be game changing during leveling. Now, it’s just grind all the way to 80 without even thinking for your traits, it kills the pleasure of actually thinking where it’d be good to allocate a few points and where not.

How Lupi Science works for me:

1. Go to Lupi;
2. Die instantly.

No values and calculations whatsoever needed.

I can’t believe that:
1) This thread is going for 3 pages;
2) We have people from DnT and rT talking on it;
3) Considering point 1 and 2, you’re all still arguing about the kitten FGS.

The problem is not FGS – if you nerf the damage, people will switch to bear form, no one will bat an eye and you will get similar results. The problem is the extremely boring and easy dungeon/bosses mechanics. FGS is not game/ground/kittenwhatever breaking, FGS just makes the whole encounter faster, it’s not saving you from a certain death if you don’t kill the boss fast enough. Why’s the link of rT’s speedkill Lupi record (which is adowable btw)? You think that they can’t kill it just as good without FGS? It just wont be as fast. We need more champions like Mai Trin that have different mechanics if you want to reduce the focus on FGS, but for me personally FGS is absolutely fine and if you are not fine with it, you’re free to do your dungeons/fractals and speedclear records without it.

Yep, they are now. I can’t find any of my elites useful now except in very particular situations. Thanks, ANet, 10/10 challenging PvE content after the FGS nerf.

I haven’t logged on since the update, does it mean that I have to now get into PvP and WvW in order to complete my daily quest? Seriously, Anet? I dislike both, especially WvW since I’m playing on a really old rig and it barely handles champ fight leave alone WvW. :/

Have you asked yourself if the “majority of players” wants to truly experience this content? If one wants to really do something, one finds a way. My first run in Arah was on path 3 and we spent nearly 4 hours inside but we eventually did it and this didn’t put me off, and yes, I put up my own LFG (wow, hax!). The fact that people don’t do something because of this and that doesn’t mean they cannon do it.

I also don’t do PvP and WvW but this doesn’t mean there’s problem with those, right?

Me and a couple of friends were actually practicing for this however due to RL reasons on my side I let them down. I don’t think they found a fifth so that’s one team less to participate. My hope is that there are still a couple of new teams out there that are just too shy to register just yet and would do it before the deadline.

As Ropechef said above, chance for winning might be really small or non-existing in first place, but I’m sure the fun that everyone would have while doing this, would be sufficient.

And now to the thievery part – my general concern is that … I kinda feel useless as a thief. Well, except for the blast this field for stealth and hide in my shadow refuge part. As a person who mains an ele, I’m used to do a lot of stuff and provide party wide support in the face of various boons, CC, projectiles destruction and reflects, conjures and last but not least the best tank EU (Earth ele). As a thief I feel … useless :< I want to exactly learn which utilities and traits are useful for the different encounters because personally to me, it doesn’t seem very useful to just swap out my power signet for smoke screen and the other way around.

And of course I’m full zerker kazul. c:

Guys, lets be honest on this one:

Fact: I did farm the Queensdale train even before the spider was nerfed to an elite;
Fact: I got my level 80 exotic gear when I was like level 22 due to the train;
Fact: It was indeed a fun activity and at times a nice way to socialize with people;
Fact: By hitting level 60 I had some pieces of my cultural tier 3 armour aka insane farm.

Now, lets look at it from the other side:

The train is probably the dumbest way of leveling and farming in the game:

• Everything you do is press 1;
• Due to that reason by level 80 you still have no idea how your hero works exactly;
• If someone messes up with the train order, everyone goes into insulting spree (I’ve did it and I’ve seen people doing it);
• It is in a starting area so many new players prefer to just join the train and two weeks later, they still have no idea how to get to Kessex Hills.

So .. yea. Move on just like I did after my first char hit 80. I started doing dungeons and this was when I realized how useless I am because, happily, in dungeons, you’re 5, not 50.

To be honest, at times I feel so bored that if I could, trust me, I would skip all the possible bosses in Arah just to get the gold and be done with it.

I don’t play a Charr, I’ve never had one but I think… this is the best thread on the GW2 forums.

Why, people, why?

So, I got lucky and I actually managed to get Lupi down solo. Thankfully, he only dropped dome once and I was lucky enough to survive the rest of phase 3, although I panicked a bit and he ran off the wall. To be fair, I even think fighting him off the wall in phase 3 is actually a bit easier for me.

I was bored out of my mind last night so I put up an Arah pt3 lfg with the “LF Tank & Healer” description. Took us 1 hour to get people in but I got a very surprising (and really kind) whisper by a person who found our LFG funny. We got down to chatting and it appears that this particular mister has been lurking those forums (he even said he’s seen me, yay!) and has been trying to keep informed about dungeons strategies and so on. It looks like we still have sane people lurking this holy place, guys!

Just wanted to share this story with you since I found it really cute

Maybe. In fact, very likely, but maybe not. Even if ANet plans on any changes it will probably be in the distant future, I don’t really put any hopes in changes to happen in the next few months. Still, they might actually write down and think on some of the ideas that we give them as a feedback on the current PvE state.
