jus spec wells….dont worry about gear as much till 80..

weapons = Staff/ scepter.dagger

make a choice now. 1)do i want ground target wells (20pt curses)

2) do i want to tank hits to the face ( Deathmagic – Wells give 3 sec protection)
3) Do I want every well to heal me (30 pt blood magic)

4) 20% reduced cooldown on wells ( 20pt blood magic)

yea i used dagger/ something during early access and wells to get to 80

jus play how you want necros are strong for long aoe fights.. as long as u use staff

don’t worry about all the micro adjustments to your build till 80

if anyone has any other traits that affet wells post em up i cant think of any at the moment

yea when epidemic had near unlimited range and no LoS i liked it and would switch some aggressive wells out but not anymore same with plague signet

Staff vs. Axe

okay lets run down the staff vs axe/focus [dagger]

staff : spells
1: garbage i would take it off autocast
2: nice a Hot and a low cooldown aoe bleed not much more to ask for
3: chillblains : freeze ; poison ; poison field – strong for runners and if ur trying to escape
4: Best Staff Skill when used correctly : Not ony is it one of necros only Blast Finishers, it TRANSFERS your conditions to the enemy. Rooted and getting bursted?? Pop 4 instead of a utility and u just saved a cooldown
5: Reapers[long cooldown aoe fear] is the really good at stopping stomps on allies. Stopping revives from enemies and whatever else you need a fear for

axe: not as much range as staff
1: stacks vuln. pretty good if u wanna stack vuln
2. this is the go to spell for dmg with axe -channeled
3. aoe slow and retal. yum

focus :
4 : nice a bouncing HoT and 3: stack vuln [good synergy with axe 1]
5: a nice chill that ALSO strips boons

dagger:
4: Bouncing Blind that also cleanses conditions from you and places on enemies only transfers 3 if i remember correctly [like a weaker staff 4]
5: The Go To Bleed Aoe bomb for close range // med

- staff offers so much when used correctly

i dont understand so what if his swap was a staff u still switch in horn to gain run speed and @ 5:30 they were NOT fighting on a node so he was moving to a location or trolling for 1v1s

okay fine maybe he was 15+ in SR and that popped his SA. But we arent told the trait setup he was running.

just because you helped make the game doesnt make you good at every aspect of it

this video is proof.

-he did a lot of “bad” moves/rotations… that DS …. that SW …. that SA when SW was down already…. So many bad moves its sad

i went dagger dagger now i feel like a thief without the insane damage but a much higher hp pool

besides u get nice crunch when u crit with dagger what more do you want

for low levels i would say it doesnt matter what you do, you dont have enough trait pts at that point to make a significant difference

after say level 45 (i dont know when exactly) you will just be annoyed with the minions and most likely switch to something more… elegant / productive / feasible

TLDR : just run minions if you want

Dont run minions if your mad at them

Tell my why my necro build makes me an idiot :)

exploding minions is fun but minions that add to your vamp or your condition management is alittle more important, you say you want to be a tank/support.

support/tank doesnt need x-ploding minions. These traits are easily changeable

- Im running a wvw blood/death/SR build and it works just as well as conditionmancer. Very different though

- if you were to go 30 pt Death (minion)
– Toughness for every minion (very good)
– Minion CD reduction (its good if u wanna spam minions and yes it reduces the cd on minion not just abilities)
– minions remove boons from enemies
– Minions get more hp
– more toughness just for speccing into this line

- if we go 30 pt blood (vamp) [still focus on minions]
- You get a lot of traits to manage HP (just always good)
- minions draw conditions from allies (10 sec / 1 condition per minion)
- vitality -(jus for speccing into blood)

- Both Death Magic and Blood Magic have minion traits and provide tanky/support and both can become a good wells build

- Soul reaping synergizes well with these 2 traits (better than curse / spite [imho])\

i used to run conditionmancer (straight condition dmg) and it was fun but i like support / surviving rather than dps

I have found the work-around for minions follow these steps

1: Change all utility slots that currently have minions to wells/corruption/spectral

2. if 1 does not cut it re roll mesmer or pokemon ranger

3. If 1 / 2 does not cut it go to Lions Arch- practice dummies and have fun controlling your minions on the dummies because that is as good as it gets for necro minion control

W/ full toughness /condition gear

in wvw i do not have a problem running into an entire enemy zerg (10-20) getting focused and walking out alive. Yes DS

No i do not dmg but i make sure my team never dies

i always liked support/ beef

not dps lawlthief burst

-30 Soul reaping the life force pool is kinda redic w/toughness

-80 necro

PS: im not even sure toughness effects dmg u take in deathshroud i never bothered testing way to bad /lazy

Flesh Golem - Stability

1. golem is not useless
2. if im using a golem i dont keep him summoned (way to ez for him/her to die)

example: there is a bridge battle in wvw, 1)you approach and summon golem 2)on your first weapon swing the pet AI will send golem to attack. [this is when you use your charge ability] this lines up a charge and your stabilized golem will tear through whatever may lie in his path.

if you approached the battle with a golem already out you are risking the golem getting [stuck on environment / walking away / not doing anything]

- if golem was to transfer stability to you it would become 10x more used IMHO
- Most Necro elite skills already give stability…. why not golem as well; why does the golem only get stability and not both the caster and pet?

So when we use the flesh golem charge ability, the golem gets stability

Necros dont have access to much stability unless
— you spec 30pts Soul Reaping
— Lich Form
-Plague Form

can’t think of any others off the top of my head.

- if flesh golem’s charge gave both of us stability that would easily become “near” BiS for elite skill (situation depending).

As of right now the only reason I would use a golem is if i wanted to knock people down and miss a lot with charge also <_<
