I got matched with a guy like this yesterday 3 times in a row. I reported him the three times. I had to add him on my “friends” list and wait for him to get into a match.
After getting rid of him, I won 3 matched in a row.
There’s nothing we can do about this.
I do the same thing, man. I had this one guy on my block list, but forgot to check if he was in HOTM when I queued up. Sure enough, here we go.
This treads are funny, first.. the same way you are stuck with him , hes also stuck with you, and if you are playing thief and are perma down ,how do you think he feels when u are in his team?
Any way im sure its easy to blame the guy that whent afk then to think WHY HE WENT AFK , every one thinks hes a pro and yet they are stuck in divisions.

( and then this is why we get afkers)Now im not talking about top players , because those will reach legend in the first week due to good play and beeing in a party, now a casual player that is decent will reach legend in 3-4 weeks EVEN WITH ALL THOSE PROBLEMS I WROTE ABOVE, so if u r still stuck , im sorry to tell you but , its time to look at your game play and stop blaming everything else.
I wasn’t playing thief. I was playing ele. The thief wasn’t permadowned, either. He was pertty good.
There needs to be harsher punishments for going AFK during matches. I’ve reported a certain player at least 3 times for intentionally AFKing and still, I get him in my matches all the time. I only queue now when he’s in a match because I’ll get stuck with him 3 times in a row, and he’ll kitten and moan the entire match every game.
Anyway, that’s neither here or there. The problem is I’ve reported him, the enemy team has reported, my team has reported him, and he still plays all day every day. No punishment for screwing us over multiple times.

He quit no less than 2 minutes into the match because he lost a 1v1 at home. That was our thief’s fault, though, obviously.
Anyway, I wish Anet would take our reports seriously and give us a “Report for AFK” button. When we do report players for AFKing, most of the time someone asks, “What do we use to report him?”
It just seems logical to have a specific button for that.
Is there anything that could be done to the matchmaking system to widen the group of players you’re with?
My problem is getting stuck in the same match with a really bad “tiny” ele. I have him blocked, but unblock him about 4 times per day when we get put in the same match. It’s the same thing every time, “Oh, we have [me], auto loss.” And he’ll go afk mid match. This is every time we’re together.
I try and wait to queue after he’s already in a match, but the pool we’re being picked from is so small after about 2 games we’re on the same cycle again. I actually just left a game he rage quit. Thankfully he got deserter so we didn’t lose any pips, but it’s really frustrating.
It’s also not just him. The teams repeat themselves over and over unless I take a 5 minute break between queues, which I would rather not do.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I was up for ruby for the second time that night. We lost, but I’m not sure because I thought the tiebreaker tallied up all of your personal scores? Does the 1 more than 500 matter that much?
I really think multi-pip losses for solo q is a terrible idea. Here’s why: trolls are everywhere. I’ve been in 4 games in the last 24 hours that I’ve lost 2 pips for.
First game: Rev freaks out because we lost home. Score is about 130-100 their favor. Rev sits in base and refuses to play and tells us how bad we are in /m and we can’t hit even 200 in a 4v5. Lost 2 pips. I solo queued.
Second game and third games: Just bad matchmaking. I got stuck with the same DH twice who I’m pretty sure was throwing. He got 0 points both time. For one I was solo q, the other I was duo.
Fourth game: We have a DC in the first 2 minutes. He never comes back. We try hard, but can’t hit 200 points. Lose 2 pips.
I honestly understand losing 2 pips for team queue. I really do, it makes sense. HOWEVER, for anything under 4 man queues, I think that multi-pip losses shouldn’t be a thing. In the games that we lost 2 pips, I didn’t do bad. I did pretty well. We were just trolled by bad players.
Losing only 1 pip for queuing solo and losing multiple pips for queuing and losing badly with a team of 4 or more seems like a good idea to me. Solo queuers aren’t punished with getting stuck with a really bad group and teams are punished for not playing the way they should.
Also, as for forfeits and losing 2 pips: I think it’s ridiculous to lose 2 pips ( or any pips) when a teammate that you didn’t queue with DCs. I completely understand if a party member DCs to avoid people just DCing to avoid losing pips and abusing the system, but this needs to be fixed I think. It’s very common to have a DC on your team, especially in legendary rank since certain players don’t care about advancing any further after legendary.

They did bork it. The amount of clones shattered doesn’t add to the duration anymore due to a bug. No matter how man clones are shattered, you only get 1.5 seconds of it.
Hi. So, to start off I’m a bit salty. I was in a match where we had a DC. I was duo-queuing and all was well, we lost by the skin of our teeth.
However, in a 4v5, score 499-501, we all still lost 1 pip.
I understand losing a pip for just losing the game, but it was a 4v5 from 2 minutes in and we scored over 400 pts.
I also understand losing a pip when someone in your party DC’s to prevent people from abusing it to avoid losing pips.
I don’t understand why the other 3 of us still lost pips for playing extremely well in a game like that. I think that in a situation like that, like losing a teammate that you aren’t partied with, you should be given a pardon and not lose pips for a forfeit. Also, why is it listed in my history as a defeat and not a forfeit?

You were in hotjoin, the last one to join the winning team. When it said, “volunteer” you didn’t.
Since they needed to even the teams and you were the last one to join, you got kicked to the other team.
So if you were the last one to join, just press volunteer. It still counts as a win and gives you winner’s rewards.
