i really could not care any less about the ongoing ‘story’. for the life of me…hold on a sec, i have to ALT-TAB in case there is some sort of nonsense i have to press to advance this riveting tale…HA! there was…my pet killed some sort of things when i was gone, but there was a ‘talk to someone’ button…anyhow, why oh why can i not just ESC or TAB or something to go by the painful dialogue? if i know how long the ramblings would go on, i could go for a bike ride or whatnot. flame away, i suppose. /vent

finally came here to see what is what. kept going down last night about this time. still doing it. 24 hours of being denied off and on. unpleasant.

i am up to my 5th attempt. asking a small group nicely to kill him last, i get zero help. twice i have been in large groups where everyone was told what to do. this is the last one i need for the TT. i am not confident it can be achieved at this point.

i have two of the six luminescent pieces of armor (headgear and leggings). i have acquired 9 of the 10 required things for the remaining four. the last one for each are the ascended amulets/accessories.

the two i have i was able to purchase from the vendor inside the silver wastes. the others i am not able to purchase there. the others are allegedly available for purchase there, as well as laurel merchants elsewhere, but i cannot get them. i tried three just to make sure i wasn’t crazy.

i really dislike not being able to skip dialogue in the story mode, so will not torture myself to ‘earn’ the part i need when i should be able to just buy them instead for 10 gold.

any ideas why i cannot get the other four without bypassing the story mode? it seems strange that just the two are available for sale.

OP, i hear you. that WvW is just so…pointless. it is repulsive and horrible. i had to sit there running around – because that is what you do – run around boring landscapes – for something like 12 hours. i hated every minute of it.

i really cannot understand why anyone would do this without being forced to. there are all of these beautiful maps and interesting monsters all over the real GW2 universe, yet…i honestly don’t even care to know anyone in real life ho would prefer WvW or even worse, PvP. if you want to be competitive, then play a real competitive game like battlefield of world of tanks. i am embarrassed for you.

now, i have the stupid gift of battle now, so i am hoping that if i craft another legendary after this, i will just be able to claim another required gift of battle someplace without actually having to jump in the sewer again. please tell me this is so.

i do not wish to denigrate the gw2 wiki site, as i am amazed at the volume of data available here, and its accuracy.

i was able to find 16 things that need to be done for the kudzu II, but there are no base materials listed for each one or in total. 250 elder planks are one, and then 250 elder staves is another. i’m not sure how many logs will be needed for each stave, but this is probably another 3,000 elder logs.

i will repost when i get done all of the base materials required. it is really getting up there.

i’m still looking for the number ‘5,000’ for total thick leather sections needed by me thus far. that would’ve been great information to have prior to the start, no? sadly, it is not available. could be better.

oh, i’ve seen that, and it is very poorly done. nearly worthless.

the reason is that you do not have a clear picture of what it takes on the three precursor weapons. none at all. for example, try to go there and tell me what it actually takes to get the leaf of kudzu I. i will tell you:
just for the stave, it takes 20 spiritwood planks. but what does that REALLY mean in terms of sheer materials?
softwood: 2 logs make one plank. you need 20 planks per spiritwood plank. so you need 40 logs for one spiritwood plank, or 800 logs for all 20.

see what i mean?

20 ectoplasm
200 thermo regents
100 memories of battle
100 shards of glory
3000 elder logs

nowhere on your list does it show that i need 3000 elder wood logs to make leaf of kudzu I.
my list shows the total root materials needed. much more valuable.

i am very close to completing the leaf of kudzu I. i just totaled up everything required so far to get here. in addition to things like having to do some dungeon stuff, some WvW stuff, buy 100 runestones for 100 gold, get 77 mystic clovers, world completion, 250 obsidian shards and 200 shards for the bloodstone, here are the regular materials needed to get to where i am currently:

i am using the ‘base’ materials. for example, if i needed 50 thick leather squares, it takes 4 thick leather pieces to make one leather square, so that would be 200 ‘thick leather’.
