I’m looking for a name of a song played during the human personal story, it’s not in the ost. Starts at 6:50 in this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iOTduz32pY .
No, I dont know anyone. I’m not even sure if the guy plays anymore, he’s never online when im online so I need to send a mail.
So today I logged in after 9-10 months of not playing, my intention to see how the game had changed. I was looking through my mail and noticed a number saying 10/10 in the top, I realized this was the player mail limit and deleted a few player made mails, got a few gold seller advertisements and then I received a nine month old letter which was about “crafting my chestplate” and it contained the materials for an exotic chestpiece.
I suddenly remembered what happened- Before I stopped playing I offered to craft a chest piece for someone before I stopped playing and they said they would send the materials by mail. I never received the materials, I do not remember why but likely it was because I did not notice I had 10/10 player mails or perhaps it was as bug as I thought at the time.
The player in question was of course not happy with this and I was called a scammer, which I denied as I indeed never received the materials, that is until now. When I remembered what happened I quickly tried to return the mail only to accidentally click the take items button. I felt pretty foolish at that point but I tried to compose a new letter saying what happened with the items inside but it said they were ignoring me and so I couldnt send it.
So basically what I ask is how do I return the items to the player if they are ignoring me? As far as I know I cant send items to an alt of mine then send it to him so I’m not sure what to do.

For those who want something different, a game that is actually trying to be fun instead of being a shore, with longevity based on how much you enjoy playing the game as opposed to how much gear you have left to grind – for those players, there is Guild Wars 2.
This is a problem. I like the fact that the grind for the top equipment is easier compared to other games and non continuous, the issue (or one of) is that people just dont find the content enjoyable and I would at least partially agree. Look at the games with no grind and no progression and see why people play them.
I see alot of people calling it a grindfest. What grinding is actually needed to get anywhere?
Leveling? Nope, dynamic events, hearts, dungeons, WvW, crafting etc. It’s all up to the player.
At 80? Nope, not really, unless you really want that shiny gear, otherwise all you need to do is spend 3 hours and have full exotic gear and do what you feel like.
Leveling with crafting and forms of PvP is nothing new to mmo’s, personally I find leveling repetitive and pointless in this game among others.
At 80 I think a sentiment is that many of the supposed things to do at 80 are in fact grinding eg getting legendarily, gear skins, heart’s. There is a lack of what most people perceive to be fun activities/goals and problems with core mechanics (mainly combat). I think this could be alleviated by giving more sandbox type options to players.

Dual Swords for Thieves, better sheaths, Warrior adrenaline mechanic?

I talked about this to some people in the game and the opinions are mixed. Some say two swords isn’t sneaky enough. Others say thieves wouldnt’ have the strength. Anyway, I think all the discussion about ‘realism’ and what is right for one profession to use or another is just speculation and personal view. I can understand that. Of course those same people go out of their way to explain why it makes sense for casters to be able to wield greatswords. In a nutshell, discussions like this are ridiculous. I can understand that giving thieves a greatsword would be silly, perhaps, though I could see that being viable as well but every game I’ve played thus far had always given rogues / thieves / assassins the opportunity to have a sword in each hand and it is something I’ve come to like very much. A stealthy fighter who wears light or medium armor and excels at fighting with swords. I’d also value this option greatly from a roleplayer’s perspective as I am one. It is a whole different playstyle as opposed to the ‘rawr’ smash warrior so don’t suggest I try another profession. Neither am I looking to play a ranger because they use pets and are generally different from a thief as well.
Absolutely. Classes are just game mechanics and dont have the same basis in lore as in game. For example Rytlock, a warrior npc often wields and uses a pistol, things like thief double swords and mesmer double pistol should also be added among others. I do think all classes should be able to wield all weapons, even if just for cosmetic purposes with no damaging abilities.
Secondly, I was wondering if it would be possible to give Warriors a proper Rage / Adrenaline mechanic. Having abilities that are only limited by a cooldown feels very mechanical and uninspired to me yet at the same time the warrior profession does have lots of potential, imo. Back in World of Warcraft my main was a warrior for that very same reason, the rage mechanic was what made it so fun. In GW 2 warriors already have it but it only uses their one burst or special skill while everything else the warrior has is on a simple cooldown. Wouldn’t it be more fun to play a warrior if their four weapon abilities consumed Adrenaline as well while their first weapon skill and taking damage generated it? It could be balanced along with proper cooldowns.
Agreed, I find GW2 combat repetitive and lacking of tactical use. On a warrior (my only class at 80) the weapon skills often amount to simply using what ever’s not on cooldown. In WoW there was some choice in that you had to prioritize which abilities to use rage on where here its only two abilities and in most cases waiting for a full bar.

I dont think any of the factions you mentioned are “light” or “dark” and the ones on the right side dont have much in common to join together for.
Agreed that you should, leveling itself runs counter to the statement “play the game your way.”
If they did so happen to remove or somehow negate levels I believe it could add to the replayability of the game. The reason: you can play all content with all classes, combat itself is also in big need of an overhaul but you’ll be able to play everything instead of one locked in template without grinding out another character. Unfortunately levels are central to PvE so I dont know how they’d be able to pull it off.
There is a grind in this game- grinding to 80 and grinding for the gear with stats you want and for every character. The difference between this and a typical MMO is that its shorter and you dont have to keep replacing your gear. This is of course only about mandatory grind, dungeon sets, legendary’s etc are a massive grind-fest.
yarnHaving the gold to gem/gem to gold conversion rates decided by players likely won’t have a large affect on third party rmt and it definitely wont stop it completely. EvE has been mentioned as an example of this working yet one search will show that it still has third party rmt. Plex also has a useful purpose- you need it to play the game
It squashed it by 70%.
Do you prefer RMT squashed by “just” 70% or go on like now, with RTM totally free, rampant and laughing? What would you add to the shop that is “worth spending gems for”?
Nice skins for armor and weapons, appearance change items, exclusive pets that you cannot obtain if you didn’t play GW1 or buy the next version up of GW2 etc.
There are plenty of things they could include in the Gem Store to make it more attractive.
There are also changes they could make to existing items – for example, Black Lion Chest Keys are way to expensive and rewards from the chests do not make it even remotely worthwhile buying them.
They could even sell Skill Point packs for crafting purposes (it would create no in game advantage as the items crafted are just the same as Exotics with nicer skins).
Lots and lots of things they -could- do to make Gem Store a more attractive service.
How about nice particle effect addons where you can choose the colour?
So many things they -could- do….
They could add what you say, but will it be enough?

From what I know of WvW your base stats and stats from traits are scaled to 80, gear however is not and trait skills, weapon and utility skills are all unchanged which gives a geared level 80 a massive advantage over someone else. I favor having it work similarly to sPvP where you are on even ground with everyone else.
But the deaths are really forgettable and are mostly cut scene driven. Nobody in this game dies from one shot. Everybody can be shot several times before collapsing, so to see a character die from one bullet is just: Nope not buying it not in this game world.
It’s certainly possible to die from one bullet in Tyria. No one in lore dies only to return at a floating cube nearby fully healed with a silver or so less and a broken helmet, its game mechanics like much of the game.

Gems have uses, some people may find what they can buy with them very useful but for most players this is not the case and this is where a problem lies. If you want to make them more useful, aside from cosmetic items what exactly can you do? You could add more boosters, increase their effectiveness, add stated items but these are all advantageous. The game is already pay to win, if you want to increase gem sales without making it more pay to win you would have to rely on cosmetics.
One of the few options which could be effective is reducing demand for gold.
