haha right right, jumping out of NW tower.. after you killed all our siege on your 4th attempt? that’s honorable? hahaha you mad because you failed to sweep your garri properly? see the difference is we actually are honorable, we don’t need to exploit in order to win, and you see what happens when you try to fight us fair? we take back our garrison =) and what was that you were saying earlier about not being able to take back so much as a camp on our BL? hmmm…
Just wondering. Are you guys arguing about this tower? Are you complaining about people taking out siege like this mesmer is doing? I mean this guy climbed the stairs and instead of jumping out immediately decided to go around to the other side of the tower and take out ac’s. Coincidence that it’s [SG] again?

We don’t know at this point what the rewards will be for “winning”, but I will be incredibly surprised if it’s something significant enough to warrant spending 60+ (or is it more now?) gold to transfer to a top server and then having a terrible WvW experience in 80% of matches minimum. I believe it’s already stated that most of the rewards are linked to how much you play for your server.
Many guilds moved up to have a better WvW experience (T1 indeed has competitive, round-the-clock action), I don’t see the problem with moving down for the same thing when tiers no longer exist and T1 servers get round-the-clock boredom instead. SoR is having a preview of it this week, and I will be incredibly surprised if guilds don’t move off the top servers after a few weeks of leagues. That’s all I’m really saying – don’t be in a rush to transfer upwards because you want to “win”, or because you want to fight server X or guild Y in Z time zone. Very soon none of that will matter.
You’re also forgetting that guilds on servers really enjoy working together. The server leaders have put a lot of effort into building a community for everyone. All the GM’s of the WvW guild are friends with each other (in game, not irl) and we all enjoy cooperating with each other on the battlefield (except for that FEAR commander who just calls everyone baddies yet needs to get bannered all the time, nobody likes him). There’s certain personalities and inside jokes on the server that we share from playing together for 6 months or so. It’s hard for a guild to transfer down to lower tiers by themselves because that would mean you would not be able to cooperate again with any of the guilds you’ve built relations with, and the majority of the weeks you would not even be guaranteed to fight them. It’s very fun to be able to hop onto TS and just hang with the other WvW people you’ve met even if it’s karma training for a few weeks. While we have been complaining about the lack of fights this week, I imagine the SoR commanders and players are also secretly enjoying this stress-free week to do some PvE. I imagine in the next weeks, 4 of the weeks will be pretty boring fight-wise but I don’t think 4 weeks of bad fights is going to break apart the guild alliances that have formed.

Build a trebuchet behind the door. Can stop up to 3 alpha golems with just one defender on a trebuchet behind a reinforced door. Almost every door in a T2 keep or tower in SoR/JQ/BG has a trebuchet.

I imagine this is a shatter build. In that case, I definitely agree with Plum’s points 2 and 3. Get rid of desperate decoy and put in illusionary persona. Phantasmal haste is also pretty useless since your phantasm most likely will be shattered or killed before the second hit occurs. I would recommend taking illusionary invigoration over compounding power (3% damage per extra illusion) though.
I’ve never tried using the torch in a shatter build before. I do like the condition removal that comes with that trait. However you should try out both the focus and the pistol for wvw. The pull on the focus is very powerful during siege and the pistol stun is great.

Unfortunately you’re going to have to choose between either condition damage or direct damage. I would recommend doing direct damage since direct damage is viable in both wvw and pve while condition damage is viable really only in wvw.
A good compromise between surviving and damage is a set of soldiers armor with berserker trinkets and bersker weapons. I would recommend slotting it with runes of the centaur for the perma swiftness that’s useful in wvw and general pve map exploration. It will also give you enough survivability in pve to start off with. As you get better in pve content, you should buy berserker armor to wear in pve so that you can kill stuff faster.
I personally run with 3 sets. A set of full soldiers (when I need to get a portal into lord room of hills), a set of full berserkers for pve, and a set of full rabid for a confusion wvw spec. When I’m solo roaming with a shatter build I wear soldiers armor and berserker trinkets.

Only allow rams to be placed near gates.
Or allow rams that do damage to a gate to remain indefinitely, but have rams that never do damage despawn like trebuchets and golems.
