Leader/Driver of Krew/MR

Mist RĂ¡iders wants you!**********
MR was started about 3 months ago on ET with the sole purpose to be a WvW/gvg guild. Over the last 3 months we have picked up experienced players who have done gvg/zerg busting before and have picked up many players who never done any of it or are just simply new to game. We welcome and encourage all kinds of players to come and give Mist Raiders a try. We are willing to help and teach players our style.
Some requirements for MR
1. Ts is required a mic is not. However, if you would like to gvg then a mic will be required.
2. Must run raid builds OR approved builds. Random builds will not be tolerated.
3. Drama free zone with fellow guildies. If we see one member cause unwanted, needless drama they will be removed from guild.
4. Bring an upbeat attitude. Raiding is so much more enjoyable when we have people who want to be there and want to get better and work as a guild.
5. 100% rep is not required, However if you are on and in WvW, you are expected to be with us raiding.
Current classes we are recruiting.
Guardian- 2-4
Warrior- 2-3
Mesmer- 1-2
ele- 2
Necro- 2
We also have been testing with our kill group setups for gvg/wvw so we are also looking for a backup group/possible main group for the gvg kill team. Please understand we Choose raiding over gvg first. We typically aim to set at least 1 gvg up per week usually on a Wednesday.
d/d ele- 1
Thief- 2
Mesmer- 1
We are far from being OMFG BEST GUILD status but we go out each and every night and work to improve and get better and find fights where we can get them. Feel free to reply to this thread, or visit our website at mistraiders.enjin.com and apply there. Can also contact myself in game for more info or in game mail.

I really wish some dev or another could tell us what the INTENDED effect was for this on gameplay. I have a feeling that they don’t really know.
They literally told us in an interview that they had nothing else planned for WvW beside these kind of tricks. It’s hard to stay polite when you spent real money on the store to support them making new content and what you get instead in return are these completely broken gimmicks.
It is the reason why I haven’t bought gems for over 6 months and do not intend to buy more.
The new siege disabler looked like a bad idea from the start, and the implementation demonstrates that it was in fact a truly bad idea.

Conditions suck because they are the exact antithesis of what skillful combat in GW2 should be (and was originally intended) to be about.
Conditions relegate both damage-dealing and damage mitigation almost entirely to class mechanics rather than the “active combat” GW2 was designed around. Dodging becomes secondary when conditions attacks are barely distinguishable and poorly telegraphed.
Avoiding damage comes down to what removal options you have, not how well you move, dodge or play.
It’s the exact opposite of fun and engaging combat.
You can tell that originally Guild Wars 2 was never meant to have such an excessive amount of condition spam. Stuff like Signet of Agility that removes 1 condition on a 30 second cooldown is proof of that.
But things have changed, especially with Runes of Perplexity and Tormet now added to the game and the entire concept of “active combat” has become diluted to the point where winning a fight comes down to how many different types of conditions you can apply to your opponent vs. how many he can cleanse.
in 2-3 years, WvW will be locked in a battle of epic proportions between the only two remaining players: devon and lordkrall
Sorry that this “name and shames”. I tried to edit but I’m woefully bad at doing so. Anyways, here is some screenshot of an ANET employee kind of being a jerk to us who were GvGing. Hopefully I don’t get infracted, but I imagine it’s coming.
Enjoy,

For anyone who calls “taken out of context”, I have a full 45 minute video to give you the entire backdrop of the situation.

I take it that since legendaries will soon be able to have stat changes out of combat, it would be possible to do this for other gear?
I don’t see that happening and the main reason is that it sets Legendaries apart. It makes them cooler, it makes them more worth trying to get if you care about stats and not just looks. I could be proven wrong at some point, but I don’t expect us to head down that road.
P.S. No.
You could set them apart by giving them changeable Sigils and Stats while just allowing changeable stats for Ascended Gear. Pigeonholing people into running X build because they have X Ascended gear in a game built around encouraging build diversity is completely counter-intuitive. I didn’t play GW to chase gear to make builds with and yet that’s all I’ve done in GW2 despite it supposedly being built around encouraging build/playstyle diversity. I know you’re not the guy to be angry at for this and I’m not so I don’t mean to be rude to you personally but it hurts when you old, favorite, game company does a complete 180 turn in their design philosophy. I’ve made way too many posts on this and it always puts me in a sour mood so I’m just going to stop with it now but I’m very disappointed with you guys as a whole. Completely lost sight of where you came from.
Most Thief builds and D/D Bunker Ele.
Most annoying because: Imbalanced mobility. If they aren’t facerolling, they are successfully disengaging from you with massive distance travel skills and run speed.
