Thank you to anet for making this solution. As someone who has spent a LOT of money on gems and such, it’s good to know that you are willing to fix this.
As for the mystery tonic thing, I highly doubt the artificer tonics will be usable for this. It makes sense that the new chest will use items from the BLCs. I used a lot of my mystery tonics and boosters when I didn’t need them too. No matter what is done to fix something, there are always people whining. If you decided to delete all of it, that was your decision and I don’t agree with a way for it to be reversed now that you know they are coming out with something else. That’s not how it works in real life, either.
Soo the rewards are 28 candy corn, 3 account bound skele tonics and 3 account bound halloween tonics… Thats what I got for spending 2g40s on 2 keys to open 2 chests for 6 tonics to put into the new recipes… awesome.
Looks like this just went live, but the killstreak experience boosters don’t look like they work. They are not showing up as valid forge items. All the other boosters I had work though.
32 chest, random tonics, normal halloween drops already gotten easily, and fragments(onyx,charged).
No one in my overflow has gotten a skin. HA…..
Oh well random=random.
You can sell these items and get money, unlike account bound items.. I’ve had tough luck too, but still happy because I can get some money out of my account bounds that I never use.

The fact they gave a second chance doesn’t necessarily mean that the chances will be higher…at least we got the chance to get rid of the useless boosters and tonics, I’m ok with this

See? You expect to get a skin guaranteed for opening TWO chests? This just shows how people don’t understand the concept of these BLChests (No offense) , which fueled the QQ storm on the forums in the first place. I’m still baffled how ANet gave in to this whole storm, but the damage has been done, no use making any effort there.
People are going to kitten no matter what they do. It’s chance. Always has been. They said you’ll get a second chance, and that the other items associated with the Mad King chest would be Halloween related (as that was another item of contention). They did not however state that the chance of a skin would increase exponentially or become guaranteed. Really tired of seeing this. You want a skin, farm, get gold and buy one.

So Anet is all this and all that just because each and every one of you doesn’t get exactly what you want? They took an extra step to give you another chance, it’s called gambling for a reason. Imo they shouldn’t have even bothered with this, because you all knew the risk when you bought the keys. Sad lot of kids you are…
Yeah, I have a dozen different boosters and I tried putting them in the forge, and the only one that would be accepted is the experience booster. Not the strength, rejuvenation, killstreak, magic find etc. boosters.
I really liked it, Didnt get any skins (shoulder or weap) but got a HEAP of candy and halloween mats which is good considering i’m gona need 2000 corns by the end of this event but yea I thought the whole thing was quite fun and already very generous of Anet like I dunno why ppl expected to get a skin in every chest or something?? cos like u now have 50% more value to your key cos of these forge recipies (and this is concievabley as long as candy corn exists) so yea I’m happy it always was a gamble so I think this is prob the best way of handeling it

Look, I was pretty upset about the initial Black Lion Chests, but you know what? The fact that ANet did this at all and gave us a second, free, chance at the items? That’s pretty cool. I don’t see why anyone has real ground to complain about it when they didn’t have to give these chests to us at all.
Honestly, for those of you who deleted tonics, the new “lotto chests” are just as useless and low chance as the black lion chests. Just since they require “boosts” they have another CS item required in addition to the tonics.
So you really aren’t missing out on much. I opened apx 50 of the new chests and had worse luck then the black lion ones, I opened when the event started.
Anet, I hope in future events you add non lottery skins for Armor and Weapons which can be bought with gems.

I’m not sure what there is to complain about. I got over a thousand candy corn, close a hundred of each of the rare mats, and a bunch of the shards/lodestones from each category. I easily gained the equivalent of about 10g from these chests.
Wow, they really need to hire someone that understands rewards. Got more tonics by blowing useful boosters on them. I don’t need exotics or skins worth 500g but come on, dont ever give me a fluff CONSUMABLE item when I pay money. Gamble or not. They need to constantly be designing skins, like 20 a month to get. They removed the armor ladder but barely replaced it with anything. At least this way, people can be rewarded with nice things, but there’s also still “better” ones to get that will be more expensive.
I am disappointed that I didn’t get a weapon skin over 42 chests, but I did at least feel like I got something in return, like the Gift of the Moon recipe which is pretty valuable over TP, and lots of materials to go towards crafting those.

Try to look past the skins. The event IS fun. It’s unreasonable to say the event’s automatically not fun because a SKIN doesn’t magically fall into your lap.
17 Mad King chests, one shoulder drop. SAVE your boosters. The trash you get from the mad king chests aren’t worth it. The chance is just as low as before, don’t waste your time.

I would seriously pay $5 for a weapon skin. What I won’t pay for is playing the lottery any longer.
Shoulda thought about that beforehand. In gambling if you’re not ready to lose, don’t start playing.
This is a game. If I’m out of money at a Casino I’m done playing. If I get tired of constantly losing at lottery garbage in this game, I’ll go play an MMO and participate in a holiday event that offers better rewards at less chance.
