There is little satisfaction in knowing that I wasn’t the only one. Anet, you now see that so many of us have had the same exact issue. GW2 is a remarkable game and I love every minute that I have wasted away playing. However, I truly regret every moment I ever spent on this event. It’s been nothing but headache from the start. If it hasn’t been the lag , it’s been the constant disconnects. Anet, you have said from the beginning that you wanted to create a game that everyone can love and enjoy the hard work and effort you good people have put into this beautiful environment. Don’t go back on your original goal now that the game is out! All of these good people, including myself, want a swift response and resolution. As consumers of your product, we deserve a response and compensation for the time and effort put into this event. So many of us only want what what we feel is owed to us due to this event’s shortcomings. For me, my situation is the same: I got disconnected at the end of the Ancient Karka event. I reconnected and was placed in an overflow where the event was already completed. After all that time spent fighting the Ancient Karka, I got nothing for the work that other people profited from. It wasn’t just me out there fighting, but I did my part and I feel that I, and everyone else this happened to, deserves our fair share. Anet, this situation is so unfair to so many of us that spent our time on repair, resurrection, dealing with lag, and so on. Please, Anet, if not for all this, respond to us simply out of respect. Let us know, if nothing else, that you recognize there was an issue. Hopefully, a resolution will come in the form of compensation of some sort.

In the same boat as you guys… I fought through bugs during these whole three days and then what? Just when things finally started to get good (no lag was present) it crashed out of nowhere IN THE FREAKING END? Are you kittening kidding me? Even after the disappointment from the first day I still kept doing what could be done, in order to participate in this whole fiasco. I suppose you just like to waste people’s time, Anet.

P.S. – After the crash I couldn’t log in the game or even in THE kittenING FORUM FOR A WHOLE HOUR? WHAT IS THIS?

At the point right before the boss kill when your killing the blocked gas piles. Halfway through killing the piles I got stuck in the terrain of one of the piles as it blew up. Couldnt /stuck myself eventually the boss finally got far enough away where I wasn’t considered in combat so I was forced to teleport back to the Karka camp waypoint. Did that,but got stuck in a loading screen which is where I stayed. Had to break down and do the ole CNTRL ALT DEL and close gw2 and reenter. But of course I got back got instantly transfered to overflow where the acient karka was killed. then finally back to my own server where of course the karka was killed there too. Was there from the time event started, 3 hours of work. In the end no loot no accomplishment…nothing.
I kinda want to kick a puppy right now. please fix this or reimburse somehow pretty plz. I earned my stuff and so did alot of other people.

Count me in, UFO sound bug and crash close to end of the ancient escort and couldn’t log back in. Eventually I manage to log in just to find my guildies talk about their loot in chat. Tried to move between overflow servers but the event was over everywhere.

For me this is just the proof how ArenaNet is unprepared for this kind of events in their Server Perfomance.

Logins Went Down,Trade Post Down, Disconnets, Delays….

If ANet dear to say this event was an Sucess and don’t admit the problems that existed in this event…. It’s Done For Me!

Exact same thing happened to me. Spent My entire evening doing the event and got nothing to show for it. Things like this really shake my faith in the game and make me want to re-evaluate my continued participation in it.

Are you actually kidding ?! 3 hours of grinding this event to get DC/ed literally at the last boss fight at the top of the tower ?! wheres my loot?

Same as all the previous posts… I would at the minimum like the accessory and the 20 slot bag plz mailed to me

Just to add my voice to the many that Dc’s near end and missed the final kill and chest by the time I got back on

I felt into the lava during the last boss-fight due to texture bug(because i used the necromancer elite skill), when there still was the ground, stuck at waypoint loading, disconnected, couldn’t reconnect… lost all the loot.

I was disconnected too

I was booted also.. but then when back in..all i got was southseas screen and heard entire finale but still no loot

I’ve never posted on these forums before nor am I one to dwell on negativity but I must say that this event went rather horribly for myself and many of my friends. Not only were we plagued with disconnects, multiple deaths and horrendous lag, but then at the end of the event during the cutscene over -twenty- of us disconnected in a lagfest. Some were able to come back in time to loot the chest, others were not so lucky.

Please, Anet I know you guys are reasonable and wish the best for your customer base. Either make a vendor so these people can at least get the 20 slot bag or something, and acknowledge the error of this event. Thank you.

Really, Nate? You d/c right when he’s about to die after 3 hours of killing countless Karkas, after a whole weekend doing the Events, anxiously looking forward to my chance of getting a free Precursor and some Exotic Weapons. You completely waste 3 hours of your life for a reward that you, most unfairly, did not get? It’s not my fault the Servers couldn’t handle the amount of people and decided to shaft me out right when my Server was killing the Karkas.
Your answer was completely ignorant, cold and mean.

I’m sure there have been a few posts about this. Appologize, but I have to say this has been a big disappointment. I don’t have much time to play – but I have really enjoyed this game thus far. I put time aside for this weekend’s event and was pretty stoked that my family gave me the weekend to do so.

Anyway – to cut to the chase, I spent 2 plus hours working with a large group of people to battle the main event only to get the ancient to the enterance of it’s nest before being dropped out of the game. This happens from time to time, I understand. But to not be able to get back onto the server I was on to complete the event… that was the biggest slap in the face.

I have to be honest. I never write on forums – only read. But I have no course of action but to express my disappointment. I’m sure there is nothing that can be done… I doubt I will ever take time out in the future for a world event on this game again unless safety nets are put in place for this to not happen again.

Seriously disappointed….

Well after nearly two hours, I can finally log back into the game, and the forums.
Similar issue to everyone here, got disconnected half way through the ‘destroy the trapped explosive gas’ part and couldn’t log back in, when I managed to (only for around a minute before another disconnect) I was in a different overflow with the event finished and the chest disappeared a second after I loaded in to the map.
After that second DC I haven’t been able to log-in since.

Pretty disappointed to have missed the final section of the end of the event and miss out on the rewards for taking part.

Hopefully Anet can find a way to sort something out for those that got disconnected, but I won’t keep my hopes up on that

And another, disconnected and came up with nothing. This was after 3hours in a particularly hard overflow, really not amused.

Just to think that I was so excited for this weekend, first I lost a chance at the mini pet and now the one time event also.
As I said earlier my servers event bugged, went across so many overflows to find one that still had it and got dced.

Same here (my client crashed), exactly 1 minute before the chest, I was in voice chat with guildies, we just had to finish the Ancient Karka at the end.
Due to login server issues, by the time I was able to login again the chest was gone. 2 hours and a half killing karka to be unable to even touch the chest.

I spent roughly 3hrs+ doing this huge event. Fighting nonstop and helping each other res. We finally got to the very end. We were chasing the Ancient down and finishing off the webs to kill and then it happened. Weird sound, screen went white and the game crashed. I tried to log back in as quickly as possible. I was sent to another server and left with tremendous disappointment. Extremely upset about what happened.

Adding my comments so GW2 will pay attention to how serious of a problem this was.

I spoke to a Mod in the game who said “You can file a ticket at support.guildwars2.com – we’re seeing similar reports”

Got booted at the final fight after 3 hours of dying over and over. BTW, I’d like a refund on all the repairs since I got ZERO for it. I was disappointed with the bugs all weekend, but this final fight bug which cost me the reward has my blood boiling. To the point where I don’t think I will do these one time events ever again.

My client was disconnected twice during the event… On the first time I was able to get back to an overflow server where the event was still going on. On the second time I got just a message telling that “The Sea of Sorrows is quiet once again”. Checking with guild members I realized that some trial accounts got precursors and a lot of paid users got nothing besides 3 hours wasted, tons of silver spent on teleport and armor repairs… Yeah, I’m really frustrated. Guess I’ll never put another coin in this game…

Same here… 2+ hours spent and I get kicked just as the ancient karka is getting exploded down the ramp. I log back in to see a bunch of people comparing loot. I was, and still am, rather pissed about it.

I was disconnected (sound bug crash) too and missed the end of the event (and reward). We were obviously slow at my overflow so I wasn’t able to find any running event after DC. Really disappointing experience.
I’m really sorry that this game has no monthly fee so I can’t show Anet what I’m thinking about their professionalism.
Only thing which made me happy this weekend is that my friends have no time to join so I wouldn’t need to apologize for the invitation.

The Ancient Karka was being pushed back into his cave when I died, so I tried to revive at a waypoint but the game stopped loading after like, 10 minutes. Then I couldn’t log-in for 2 hours and the event was over in just about every overflow instance =\

I couldnt log in at all. Was very much like the early headstart days. The login just hung there untill it error’d to a grey screen. Tried a few times and just kinda dropped it. – Im not going to give any special attention to Arenanets events in the future, it just makes me annoyed that I wasted time trying to play the game today at all.

Same here. Disco after 160 minutes hard work.

Yep, same here. 2 1/2 hours, DC’d, tried to get back in only to be added to an overflow where the event was already finished.
I like this game, I really do, but this was a pretty lousy weekend event.

I also disconnected at final battle and received no reward chest as I was able to log back in but into an area that had already defeated the Karka and no chest was available! Very disappointed after spending all afternoon on final event!

yeah a reward with nice drops and ppl falling through textures and getting disconnected, so awesome … keep up the good work!

Same here – Crashed right at the end, just moments before we kill the Ancient Karka. I wasn’t able to log in for 20-30 minutes – Error 42, and when I finally managed to do it – everything was over. No experience, no karma, no chest. Nothing. This is ridiculous…
Besides – I wasn’t able to log in the forum for over an hour and a half…

My own personal experience was bad as many of you. I DID get to finish the event…but only out of sheer luck rather than by normal means like most other people.

I started my first try, got to the end of the first reinforcement wave…and game froze on me; leaving me to restart.

I Re-log and get put in a diff overflow…get past the 2nd reinforcement wave this time….then crash 5 mins later due to the same issue.

At this point im frustrated beyond belief…log back in..and like most..find myself in a instance where the karka is defeated. Tried relogging numerous times…no luck getting in one that wasn’t done.

At this point I shook my head at the 2 hours wasted but also the disatisfaction from this event as a whole in how it turned out due to issues beyond my own control and no way to be compensated for my efforts in leui of missing out on everything.

I got lucky however, As some guildies were in a instance still doing the event and was able to backdoor my way in. Regardless of this fact, and being thankful for the opportunity to finish the event and get my loot; It should have NEVER come to a solution like that to get there.

I feel the pain of many people, and cant imagine how people feel that didnt luck out like i did and got stuck with nothing to show for their efforts and time due to issues such as this.

It is a shame but i do feel there should be ways in the future to compensate people if issues like this arise or arrange a event as such people have other opportunities to gain the reward(s) sometime after the initial start of the event so people are not left out due to personal reasons or technical issues such as these.

Will see how things go in the future….but by far this was a very iffy event to say the least thats gonna leave a bad taste in alot of peoples mouth going into potential christmas events…

I hope they make the chest account locked and then let people who did not get the chest redo the event.

Just to make sure the developers are aware, a lot of us had the same problem on server I was on. Extreme lag about 2 hours in, then we were all booted out and unable to log back in until it was already over.

Pretty upset I missed out on the unique bag, nevermind the good loot.

I got DC’d RIGHT at the end, literally 45 seconds before the final death of the ancient Karka! It took almost exactly 3 hours on my server/overflow, and like most of the other people here, I logged back in to find I was in another overflow where the event was finished.

I was still in group, but on trying to join them it said their overflow was full. Couldn’t get back in, couldn’t finish, couldn’t get reward.

So very disappointing! What might I have gotten as a reward? Sadly I will never know!

It happened to me too. I mean, I enjoyed the event. I really did. But then to get booted when we got to the final phase, and unable to find my original overflow in time?

So I get no reward. Again, I really enjoyed the fight, but I’m going to miss that 20 slot bag.

I also got nothing after 3 days with 6+ hours of playing the event. DC near the end of the ancient and then Login Server Failed until the event was over!

Event was great ANet, liked it… unfortunately: Yeah, 4 hours on overflow server doing the event… everything fine no desync no nothing, which is amazing… then got to the final part to kill the Ancient Karka… at the bottom of the hive… i close to attack it, get a few shots … and fall through the floor into the lava and die… figured i’d have better luck trying to respawn at a WP and run back to get chest. OF course no such luck … boss was almost dead… i teleported… aaaand STUCK in loading. Had to end process… and then couldnt even log-in … firewall exceptions somehow changed or something was wrong with the loginserver. By the time i got back in 10-20 minutes after…. of course nothing there anymore…. got absolutely nothing didnt even see it die (couldnt see anything from in lava under rocks) … and no chest no nothing… at least since one time event we should have gotten in mail rewards (a chest) all who participated. or remake event… not like island’s going anywhere. (maybe for who didnt get rewards for killing ancient one – if possible to distinguish) I can say my char name but im assuming ArenaNet knows what char i was using from this account during the event and can see i got nothing. Would like (if no compensation or remake) at least an answer, ANet … even if delayed. Thanks

1. Wife and I got d/c and got no reward despite being part of all the events all weekend leading up to this event.

2. Very glad I did not not invite any friends to play GW2 over this weekend, as I would have been very embarrassed, as this was not a good reflection on how good ANet can be.

Im posting here also saying that I’ve been there from the begining…. Crashed :

When i heard what I missed…. I’m now “unhappy”.

“unhappy” can be replaced by lots and lots of other words !

For a 2h30 event : no mail reward? no npc distributing ? I lost 2h30 min of a half bored half thrilled event?….

Sorry but I want an solution and “NO” is not one of them.

Got a DC too and was also their. I am totally angry. The guy who already found 8 Precursors in my guild got one and me (who played nearly 700h) did not even get a loot from this crappy and anyoing event. Sorry but after the Ranger balance patch the next big dissapointment.

One step away from quitting this game…

I really enjoyed the event. I thought it was incredibly difficult and satisfying. It was worth the effort, and I felt it made our overflow bond. That being said, I was kicked at the last phase, and couldn’t find my overflow again.

I’m afraid I’m a bit bummed out. Again, I really enjoyed the event. But no reward at all seems a bit harsh, since it was due to a disconnect.

like many in here i joined the event at the begining and fought my way through all those reinforcement was playing on an overflow server got to the nets destroyed them bombed the place was following the ancient karka down and boom

enthusiasm dead.
the reward should have been like heart quest rewards send us a chest in the mail or something.
now i expect an apology cause that password thing happened to other people so it’s not MY fault has to be somebody’s fault and well there is just you and me XD so it’s your fault if you don’t apologies give me my time back i’d rather have been reading my book .
and fix the login to your forums been trying to log in here to complain a bit for ages

got DC and couldn’t connect for 3 hours. totally missed the event, nice job considering they gave an unbalanced earring. i’m very disappointed and hope they will take a serious position about this

Starting by Squad protection quests, after so many death, got disconnect inside the Hive when the team where all the way up. Relogged into another Overflow server where the Squad wasn’t at the same point : and bam, in the middle of the enemy hive with absolutely no one around.

And it gets better, finally got to be able to cast spells with a 5 second delay (woot!), we manage to kill the reinforcement at 90% bar. Got disconnected again. Relog. Guess what, in an Overflow at 50% only. Massive lag again, no spell casting and huge freeze (i had a magazine to read hopefully for these times).

And all of that, for nothing. Not even enjoyment.

3 hours of slogging for nothing. D/c’d right before Ancient Karka was killed. Anet’s response will be interesting, as they are without doubt solely responsible for this event failure. Coupling it with an invitational weekend was bordering on the insane, when they’re painfully aware that their servers can’t even cope with the existing player-base.

my friend has been enduring weeks and weeks of disconecting issues, bugged general content, and now a disconect right at the end of this main event. He couldnt even log back in. It took him almost 25 minutes to be able to log back in, only to find out that he had no credit at all, no loot, no fun.

Result: he desinstaled the game and i lost someone that i really like gaming with.

Now, and because hes the guild leader, almost everyone int he guild logged out and im left to wonder if instead of providing fun this game is all about making people mad for playing.

I really am hugely disappointed.
