Sigh… I hate forum wars and people calling each other out on stuff in game. IoJ is a very philosophical server, we believe in a fair and equal fights with a VERY close point spread. Typically we pick a side (normally the largest side) and try to pound it down so that the points stay even and don’t turn into a blow out. IoJ commanders will get flustered when the side they choose to ignore starts undermining the efforts of IoJ in keeping the points close to even.

The understanding in keeping the points even is to prevent moral issues in blowout matches (100k point leads are a sign of no recovery) and keep people from think the match is hopeless. Keeping the moral high on our server IS a must or we start to slide as numbers start to dwindle and some of the hardcore WvWers leave out of frustration in a numbers game.

In honesty if IoJ and NSP ganged up on DH and managed to shove DH to second place, I don’t know what we can do to not make us look like jerks. I know when we fought DR we beat them down as much as we can and assisted SF to second place because it would just add insult to injury to DR. I personally don’t want humiliate any one server this match and I don’t care who comes in first as long as the points are close.

I am ok if NSP takes some of IoJ’s camps or even towers but if you see Orange Swords in our corner and it’s not you, please don’t come over and yank the carpet out from under us. That’s a good way to tick off our commanders and start a meaningless blood feud over and demoralize both sides troops and resources.

I hope this does not get me shot on the battle field and makes some sense…

You’re fine. At least you’re being realistic about it. If DH is attacking you guys in your corner, then why would we go for it? Stonemist, however, is not your territory. There’s nothing wrong with taking it from you.

IoJ can’t hold SM for any length of time unless it’s our Oceanic’s time, in which case it can be held with little opposition.

But regarding 3rd page bottom: Some of you guys need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. 1 team holding stonemist away from the dominant team in a good D position, great. That frees up you guys to run around in either their paper towers up north for massive ppt, or half their paper borderlands you just ransacked for massive PPT, etc etc.

Or you can get sucked into Stonemist Syndrome for laughs using ‘cause it’s neutral as a justification, and not expect the other team to retaliate, sucking up more of your manpower, hurting your ppt, etc etc, blah blah.

You can use all the justifications you want, but all you do is hurt yourself when you hit anything but the bigger team. So don’t come cryin’ to us if our oceanics decide to play with blue instead of red tonight while we try to hold the fort down until they arrive

We did hit DH’s paper towers though, IoJ had them and we just reflipped them all.

The 3rd floor was because you caught us compleeeeeeeetely off guard. Hell most of us died in the lord’s room that were meant to be up there. Total ambush and nice job. Crappy scouting on our end. My literal reaction was “WHAT!?!?!??!?!!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOkittenRUN EVERYONE RUN 3rd FLOOOR RNOOOOOOOO”

But there’s more to it than just runnin’ around cappin’ it. I mean if you wanna really put the screws to the winning server you gotta really hold that north end for a while, even an hour or two. I mean they just took it right back. I saw ya take it but it flipped back faster than Megan Fox on a casting couch. Then they came right back to EB.

edit—i edit a lot apparently, so bad at foruming and that’ll pull more people off of EB tryin’ to get garrison back so you can time a nice golem rush on the north keep or something…

Have you even seen DH BL today? we wiped it once, went back to eb to recap our corner, pushed dh, started second rush, got hills, got garrison, was ready to start on bay and got called to an IoJ golem rush on our EB Keep.

Where all my roamers/small-man groups at? I’ve had some great 1v1’s this week at the front of NSP’s ruins in EB, and roaming the northern parts of the respective borderlands – although I see a lot of 2’s and 3’s, not many solos.

Good fights all-around.

P.S. Oh and I was that mesmer in QL as I said on page 3 or something! I hope your pugs were as confused as the rest of you looked when an IoJ Knight popped up next to your AC’s. I tried to do a /dance but my casting animations wouldn’t let me

I will say this. NSP doesn’t play for second. Period. We play to have fun. Its a game….
Secondly many of our guilds are looking at this http://mos.millenium.org/na and not the green, blue, red numbers when you press “B”. Now that the matchup system has changed the millenium numbers are becoming far more meaningful. Lastly, I keep thinking of AR, BP, GoM double teaming us. Wouldn’t be the first time, won’t be the last.

See you guys on the field tonight ;-) not sure which one yet. That may be a random roll of the dice. Either way I’m sure I will find a good fight and have some fun.

Not sure if you are doing something 3rd party wise, but there is no reason for a 5v3 for me to be getting skill delay. Every instance where I came into range of the [xoxo] thief my skills would lag. And I only ever get skill delays at SM and that’s even rare for me.

a) The blood flow decreased from your brain causing the skills to appear “laggy.” This tends to occur when you talk out of your kitten and make accusations.
b) You are a bad player.
c) You experienced a very rare “blame the thief because thieves are OP and we killed him” moment.
Sadly, we cannot help you with any of them.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that no players in [XOXO] “hack” or abuse any type of plug-in type program or any other bullkitten excuse you can come up with.

As an IoJer who was on for the debacle at SM today, I can safely say some of the blame is on us. We definitely were still playing for first as a strategy, and although I wouldn’t say playing DH is an automatic loss for us (and those who say so are imo wrong), looking at tactics/point spread over the week made our strategy seem optimal, but in wvw, you usually have to count on strategy ending at attacking the guys with red names, and I’ve seen that one go over people’s heads. I do think in this thread it hasn’t been expressed ideally, but despite that and its failing, I think Nom had a respectable plan. Semantics aside, I certainly agree we may have come to a point where planning to attack NSP is the only reasonable action. Not out of anger over some injustice, but as a consequence of either having to defend against both unexpectedly or prepare for the inevitable. Supposedly, some people drive harder with emotion, so I’m not telling anyone how to feel. Kudos to all the good leadership today, as all three sides had some solid and impressive play.

Simply put, DH has the most people overall in the most timezones overall, thus they ought to get treated like the biggest threat. But this is a philosophy only IoJ seems to have. As Bird put it, everyone would rather have fun and farm Wxp, and going 3-way is the easiest way to do that most of the time. Trouble is it leaves one team as a goliath most of the week.

It wasn’t just the castle. It’s been the constant poking back and forth. The castle was the last straw. Page 3 has a little more in depth explanation as to why.

Either way, we’re fed up. Diploscussions were nice, but both sides wanna hit each other anyway. Time for both sides to deploy badge dispen—-er SIEGE! Either way we’ll have fun.

Why is IoJ so kitten that NSP doesn’t want to team up? it goes three ways, you guys shouldn’t freak out cause they took the castle. its obviously not a big deal anyway (except to seemingly everyone on my server.)

Do the DH guys remember when we got SF to help us double team you? We both kept you in second until wednesday! Everyone was admitting that made that week fun rather than DH not having to worry about getting knocked out of first.

Sad to me that NSP and IoJ have 2 different understandings of fun!
And that whole SM thing, im on Noms side, why would NSP decide to hit SM when theres a shiny red corner there? I remember when it required both us and DR to knock SBI/EB out of eternal battle grounds hitting both SM and their corner!

NSP, why would you not take the opportunity to flip DH’s keep? You shouldnt need to be told what the plan is, it should be obvious!

Nice fight tonight at NE supply camp in IOJ BL [PB]. [DARK] 5 vs [PB] 10 was awesome. we got ya at the camp but you guys got us at the chokepoint with all those arrow carts at the north most supply camp.

Doesn’t really matter though. Without both of us putting pressure on DH, they get the match. It’d take constant pressure, the vast majority of the week, for DH to not come in first. Which didn’t happen, won’t happen, and will not happen. So congrats to DH.

Don’t get me wrong, this is far from a blowout. It’s actually a pretty good matchup. But there’s still a clearly dominating server, and yeah blah blah read the last few pages.
