All you people do is complain, cry, moan and groan.
About what? How TC is ‘face rolling’ or ‘Stomping’
TC zerging isn’t the issue.
The issue is you guys don’t change it up. It’s the same thing every time.
Run -> Stack -> Charge -> Die -> Back to step one.
SoS: You have the numbers. Experiment a little.
Mag: You’re hopelessly unprepared for anything other than a tower Siege. AC can’t win every war for you.^^^^^^^^
Get your Handy Dandy Notebooks out, with a blue crayon, sit in your big red thinking chair and THINK. What I said, alone, can be the difference in you winning or losing.
Oh please.
You know what we learn from TC?
Numbers win. Run in huge… I mean HUGE zergs on every map and run… I mean RUN from every open field fight.
You havent shown anything new. Your server is much bigger and wins cause of huge framerate killing zergs.
Unless you just showed up in the past month, you should know this. We beat you even up. You win because numbers win. Not just in players, but in resources from those players.
Get in our thinking chair… glord please.
Maizen Blue – Thief
And what of us that enjoy our home on TC and want to face T1 servers as equals?
Then wait it out. Get to Tier 1.
I was only ever addressing the hypothetical solutions to balancing Tier 2. Bear in mind, even if TC gets to T1, whoever gets bumped down will cause the same problem in T2.
What remains true is that the least radical, most logical course of action for balancing T2 is for TC to disperse, that was all I was saying.
The competitive 6 servers is hopelessly optimistic, I’m afraid. What is in the realm of possibility is further detaching Tier 1 from Tier 2 and below by not having a “1.5” server. It will get stale for T1, but the system will favour gluing BG/JQ/SoR together, and keeping Tier 2/3 together. On the slim chance someone goes into T1, you’ll have a blowout for a week. But it’ll overall be more balanced than the 5 weeks of steamrolling T2 in TC’s current state.

I just transferred off SoR back to SoS to avoid the clusterkitten of skill lag from the mass zergs and TC has a more comparable wvw population to T1, not SoS. SoS used to have the population/coverage to match TC, but not in many months.
What I’ve seen tonight says otherwise. SoS outnumbered us at least 2v1 and they even wiped us one solely based of the shear amount of people. But they still get smashed. Why? Well, my quoted post answers that.
TC has won many outnumbered fights because numbers don’t win a war.
1 thief can fight 5 people if the thief knows their class, I’ve done this plenty.
Never rely on numbers, rely on tactics and knowing what class can do what.
That’s everyone’s problem. You make a class get it to 80 and expect it to win. Yet, you don’t take the time to sit there and break it down past “I swing sword you die”

Heh, there’s another solution: get the T3-T8 servers to transfer a ton of guilds into TC, DB, and FA that way those servers have blowout matches and the top 6 servers separate from the rest and never get matched up with the lower servers. Hmmm, interesting.

BG made it into T1 due to other servers collapsing as well (SBI notably). Lets wait and see what SoR acquiring another EU guild does to BG and JQ’s stability first. I think the crux of most of your solution rests on your theory that SOR/BG/JQ although a balanced matchup will always stay balanced all three servers will stay this competitive.
Granted the current T1 probably has the three servers that are more stable than previous T1 servers but sooner or later its quite likely that one of the server folds and its probably not going to be SoR.
There is a very good chance of there being three T1 servers including TC, just need to wait it out. Servers collapsing in T2 and T1 previously allowed TC to rise from their previously stuck position of T 2.5 into T2. I am sure this similar scenario will occur again.

I understand your talk of crayons by this statement, obviously you need to update your eyeglasses prescription.
Fun fact, did you know SoS had outmanned buff for the first 30 minutes tonight? Don’t roll up with your huge zergs and say we have the numbers.
To give TC credit though, we haven’t seen those big zergs as much tonight. Perhaps the rest of TC hates reruns as much as everyone else and are off playing other games because ArenaNet insists on poisoning the well.
SoS is listed as a Full server. Now, I could be wrong, but that would mean you have numbers. So, if you have numbers, but can’t get them to come out and play. Do something about it.

This matchup was pretty unlikely, doesn’t even show up in the top 27 for Maguuma (it’s #28).

What I’ve learned is that when groups die to us even numbered, like TSL or PINK, they transform into one mega zerg so that they can skill lag us out and win with press button.
We clearly need to adapt to T2 meta.

Not very soon I don’t think. SoR was already owning EU even in the 6/17 match up. And definitely the ones prior. Now we don’t even have the benefit of RG taking some of the pressure off. It will be back to the same old, and I suspect it won’t be any different than it was last-last week.
I think the whole mass server exodus, and then inflating another server mentality is the past for GW2. Something radical would have to happen for any of these servers to collapse any time soon. BG’s HB is rebuilding, SoR just got KISS and JQ just got Agg. The last two happened even before 6/17 ended. More than ever the mentality is to stack more guilds rather than leave and start over.
And staying as a “1.5” server will only have adverse effects on everyone in the match, especially over time.

looking forward to this match-up
Been saying this ever since we went down but a lot of people just think its easier to recruit from outside than working with the inside (reminds me of companies where consultants started running the business because own people were ignore).
Also, way too many people play for ppt and win intead of good fights and got no respect for the enemy.
“Opportunities multiply as they are seized.”
Honestly, I like matchups like this. Reset night during these is never fun, but we shed all of our fairweathers throughout the week.
TC will likely have a dramatic drop in numbers after the weekend, as most servers do, and we’ll be able to get some fights that aren’t 80 vs 30-40, hopefully.
Either way, I’m impressed by CERN. I don’t really like well stacking, because it’s super frontloaded, and you guys pretty much always outnumbered us, so I couldn’t tell quite how skillful you were, but you were still incredibly competent, and didn’t really make any mistakes when we were fighting. So, props to you guys. I was pretty impressed by KH as well.
Anyways, we’ll see how this match goes. Our fairweathers will die out, and we probably won’t even have that many keeps until tomorrow afternoon, but we’ll stabilize eventually.
Lol at SWäG for being a bunch of poor sports at fight club. Lose every match so you call some buddies in and gank fight club and think you’re awesome.

Good. We don’t want to people who can’t spell our server’s name to post here anyway.
Is the system trying to raise TC’s rating enough to fight BG/JQ JQ/SOR BG/SOR?? I don’t really know I don’t understand it…need the match geeks to tells us. I’m just guessing at this point.
You are aware that our rating has actually suffered as a result of the lopsided match ups?
The only reason we’re still in the green is due to the presence of new transfers. TC’s had another growth spurt.
For the toast!
It’s funny how all these evenly matched fights where our opponents beat us seem to have the opposite result when i am present. Must be my own bias of remembering successful ousts and then fabricating the size of my opponents group when my groups are not successful. Nah, that’s crazy.
Shout out to kitten , good fights early in the reset- hope to see you out and about throughout the week.
My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

I think this may have just hit the nail on the coffen in me quitting.
5 weeks of this crap seriously ANet seriously?
Don’t quit
To SoS Posters:
Ignore the qq. Let’s play for fun and enjoy the challenge. Anet’s matchmaking is screwed up but atleast we have someone to fight, would rather take this then beat up on BP/CD/SBI/KN because of coverage.
Follow @twitch.tv/Luvpie
How hard is it for Anet to drop the 3rd place server down 1 tier and the 1st place up one tier. It not blood y rocket science and is much better than is current system.

Yet another week facing Zerg Coast….
4 out of 5 weeks we are matchup with TC and now we got guilds maybe looking to leave due to these horrible matchups every week.We haven’t had one decent matchup since these dumb random matches began.
We’ve actually lost 4 WvW guilds this past week due to this ridiculous charade.
The only thing this catastrophic failure of a system is achieving is forcing even more people onto a smaller and smaller group of servers (wvw people that is).
I’ve been on my server since release day and even I am thinking of moving to another server or quitting altogether =(
I’m sorry but I am at a complete loss to understand such incredible incompetence.
This times 10. My little guild is thinking of leaving too. It’s just bad. The sad thing is that I think this is what anet wanted. More pay to move. Cause you can’t be this bad at something in this day and age of mmos. This match making is horrendous.
Before RE and some of us in Dii moved to TC, we actually heavily considered SOS. We thought:
“SOS already collapsed, and it picking itself back up. It won’t collapse again. It should be stable. "
Little did we know.
I am glad we picked TC at the end. Our friends in BLINT wasn’t so lucky.
One of the reason why smaller server is un-attractive is because any of them might collapse any day. No matter how much people preach about the stability of their server, a smaller server is prone to collapse. I am sorry but that’s the truth.
Big servers will continue to get bigger. For example the EU guild KISS from AG recently moved to SOR, the “already” most EU stacked server on NA. They decided within one day, so I think its fair to say that guild knew exactly where they wanted to go right from the start.
All of this is from the way the WvW system is designed. I really hope Anet have some idea on how to fix this. Maybe a server merge or something.
Wow didnt realize having ONE EU guild qualifies as the most stacked EU. I guess those 3-4 EU guilds on BG for months didn’t really exist.
I honestly think that basing the teams on home servers is the cause of all these problems. I get that there’s a lot of server pride, but this sort of system naturally leads to these problems. The problem is that the solution would likely take a huge amount of resources that I highly doubt ANet thinks is worth investing in WvW, so we’re likely stuck with what we’ve got.
Tarnished Coast learned more about WvW tactics while getting rolled by SoR and BG than we did at any other time. Use these chances to look at the things that each server does and learn from them. It’s what we did and it turned out well. Don’t get discouraged and keep up the fight. Best of luck to you all =)
BTW- Shout out to [derp] on Maguuma, Nice fights and like what you do with your range classes and group movement. We will be watching.

Thanks! This is the first time we’ve raided in awhile, it’s been very fun. Also the first time we’ve coordinated with PYRO in the same channel tonight on our BL. Our PPT is horrible but TC has been giving lots of huge fights that we’re definitely not used to and I find it pretty fun since there’s no skill lag either.
Had great fights with PYRO all over MagBL^ ^.
GL on GvG’s to anyone who has any, I’ll be on vacation all this week after tonight so won’t beable to participate ; ;.
Had fun commanding for the first time in SoSBL. It’s a little disappointing that there was no large group to contend with, but an excellent learning experience for me.
Also I must say that TC pugs are pretty darn strong. I witnessed a small SoS guild group running untagged get wiped by evenly numbered pugs. As I ran around the map taking stuff, the pugs running around won all the fights in areas of contention.

Who has TC beaten with a larger wvw population? Name one server. You got stomped by SoR which is the only server TC has faced with a larger population. In fact, WvW matchup history shows that TC was ranked 6th while SoS was 1st. TC’s “rise to power” was solely based on absorbing guilds just as the “downfall” of SoS was due to guilds transferring off. (Notably, [TSym] to SoR).

If this week’s match up was DB-Mag-SOS, you guys will face the EXACT same problem. DB will just roll over all of you. So what’s the difference? What’s your next plan? Disperse DB also?
Same thing with any of JQ, BG, SOR or FA facing Mag and SOS. The exact same thing will happen. So what are you going to do disperse them all?
Give me a break please.
As far as low population servers are concern, none of the top 6 servers is any different. They will roll over you, period.
I do feel sorry for you guys. But it is all Anet’s fault. Instead of disperse the bigger server to fit your needs, why don’t you transfer yourself to a lower tier server so you can enjoy yourself there?

You really don’t know anything about TC do you? Before this new match up system TC was known for being able to take down larger groups and their skill in open field fighting. FA, DB, KN, and yes even BG (though that was rare) are all prime examples of servers that TC has worked hard to over come. There’s a reason why “TC is never happy unless they’re red” is a saying. We’re used to being the under dog. It’s kind of weird being the top.
Also saying that TC is only here because we absorbed guilds is insulting. I can list on one hand our NA wvw guilds and guess what? They’ve been the same guilds for as long as I’ve been on the server (with the exception of RE), and I’ve been on this server a very long time.

Plenty of people moved for various reasons. So I don’t see what you are getting at.
Talk to IRON and ask them whose fault is it that they have to leave.
Talk to TSym and ask them whose fault is it that they have to leave.
Talk to WM and ask them whose fault is it that they have to leave.

Answer from all: Its Anet.
Speaking of which, let’s test your personal loyalty to SOS. Let’s say you are starting to dislike the situation on SOS. One day your guild decides to transfer. Most of the people that you enjoy playing with are also moving. You can either move with them, or you can stay on SOS and play with people and strangers that you barely know. What would you do?
Its the people that you enjoy playing with and spent the most time with that should have your loyalty, not the server.

SoS’s hiccup atm is not something about our community or whatever, most of the guilds that transfered off or have to transfer off don’t want to. Togethor we built a fantastic community it’s a shame that only one person can do so much harm.
Despite everything I’m still surprised that this situation hasn’t been properly spoken about. If someone apart of it was willing to give me a proper account I’d gladly share it at my own expense.
First of all, I’m on BG. Secondly, no matter where the other two servers transfer TC will still be the Tier 1.5 server steamrolling T2. That’s the problem here.
It can’t be avoided by transferring lower. The only solution is to buff Tier 2 to be competitive (and therefore glue the top 6), or disperse TC. The latter is far easier.

Let’s not have a repeat of last week’s matchup thread of DB/SoS/Ebay PLEASE.
And yes SoS has had a T2 or greater server in every single one of it’s matchups, and yes being one of our commanders i’m quite burned out (and I’m sure this doesn’t apply to just me), but I hope I can still give you a respectable fight TC and Mag.
If no one else will say it then I will, missed you TC :P but can you share hills this week? >_< Lol

WvW is a relatively small part of the game. I highly doubt ANet will ever do anything like that to try to fix WvW balance problems.

You guys are beating us, rejoice! Take heart!
So where are those elite TC zergs that win open field outnumbered? TC was rolling over and dying to D$RP/PYRO repeatedly until we logged off and even more of them logged on.
Stacking with your back against a corner and falling over and dying is a great tactic, we obv have a lot to learn from top tier guilds like [CERN]

Our reset was pretty bad, I dunno if you checked out the map much. I think you guys pulled ahead a bit before Oceanic time because we concentrated a lot of people in our borderlands and spend most of it open field fighting the TC zerg. Fun as hell but not productive PPT-wise.
good ol’ Tsarazi ;P

Oh look someone that bandwagoned from SBI to Kaineng and then Kaineng to TC. Please tell me more!

Contrary to the DB matchup, i had a great time facing TC tonight, Our commanders did a great job pulling what forces we had together to atleast make it fun for us regardless of the score. Hope to see more of D-rp and pyro leading together! Despite the badges and profit, i much prefer this gameplay vs karma training

It’d be nice to have real match ups again. Getting tired of fair weathers coming out in a zerg and giving my server a bad name of running from field fights. KH thrives on field fights and hates zerging, but it’s hard to find fights when zergs steal the life from our opponents and they stop showing up.

It was nice to run into KH being split off from the CERN/TSL/PINK/whatever the hell zergs all night tonight. Props for not going full blob.
