The NA Bronze League Thread
I have been reading a lot about HoD allegedly sandbagging, as well as hearing about it on TS and now reading about it here. I had to chuckle. Is it possible to sandbag in a recreational on-line game? I think not.
Either way to me it does not matter. What does matter to me about HoD is that they appeared to have GREAT Commanders and an amazing cohesiveness as a server, sometimes to a fault which unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of.
Great Job Guys and Gals of HoD!
As far as FC goes, I am VERY Proud of my Server for hanging in and not giving up like so many servers I have seen. It was a real job sometimes, holding on to 2nd place, last week more so than this week. Playing against what I have seen this Season, 4th overall is not a bad place to sit. When you are on top you are trying to hold on, everyone below has something to climb for.
Oh and BTW, for that HoD Norn Warrior that kept doing the /sit emote on my head while I was waiting for a rez …. I will be looking for you!
If that was you just outside of SM in EB with a necro friend. THat wasn’t a norn warrior, that was a human.
I don’t see anyone crying here. Did a lot of HoDs avoid trying for silver? Yes. Did I cry just now when I said that? No. NSP or IoJ would have been just as strong. If all you see are tears you might want to wipe your eyes.
On FC we had the toughest schedule of all and imo we did very well considering when leagues were announced on 9/6 we’d been in T8 for almost a full year with only 3 total wins in recorded history. GJ Fergs
Congrats HoD on the win. Congrats DH on the improvement during the season. Congrats AR on the rebound. Everyone else thanks for the good fights!
lol @ FC having the toughest schedule. Everybody thinks that about their league schedule.

Honestly, who cares whether HoD purposefully tanked or not. Had things been different, whichever server ended up in HoD’s position would have simply fulfilled the same role as the bronze league’s heavy hitter. There are massive population and coverage differences between the various servers in this league. And any server at that position in the ladder would have likely also had an undefeated victory.

Compared to you four, there was hardly a whimper out of DR and even less out of Kain who just finished a rocket-sled ride from mid-silver to 7th in bronze. It amazes me that you guys pule in the forums every day for 7 weeks straight instead of using that energy to improve your servers. You get out what you put in I guess.

Pretty happy with how the league turned out, honestly. I think we had the best league NA!
Well it is that time again, end of Bronze League Season Numero Uno. Before I start my breakdown of the League I would personally like to thank every one of you who jumped into WvW regardless of the score. We had the most competitive League by far in NA and I’m proud to be in it. So without further ado I give you:
The Bronze League Server Breakdown:
Henge of Denravi: First off I would like to congratulate my own server for placing first. (Though we all know you tanked, dirty cheaters <3). During the season our WvW became tighter and closer. We began to work more as a team and less as individuals and I for one am proud of that. You better all stay for Silver League cause its about to get messy up in here. Use the yak finisher with pride.
Darkhaven: Congratulations on pulling off second place. If you want to read the drama involved let me direct you to this weeks locked matchup page: Fight For Second feel free to comment. Just kidding its locked. Darkhaven way to pull it back together after the leaving of your WvW guilds. You guys really stepped it up mid way through the season keep it up.
Sorrow’s Furnace: Congratulations on being third. Started from T8 and now you are one of the top three in bronze. I tip my hat to you. CoSA , SF your numbers during prime time is scary, keep it up and work together. The first week with you guys was by far the best matchup I personally had. Try and change those fairweathering PvErs into WvWs and you guys will become a solid server.
Ferguson’s Crossing: Where to begin… T8 to fourth in a two-month span? I think that is kitten good. Work on your open field fighting more and we will see you in the top three next season easily. Your guilds need to work together regardless if you dislike each other or not. I’ve noticed near the end of the season you aren’t running in your Zerguson Crossing ball of death. I do not know if this is because everyone is tired out from the league (I am) or if you guys are doing your best to prove us wrong. Either way keep it up.
Gate of Madness: From being predicted to be in the bottom to being right in the middle giving everyone a fight. Placing fifth this season was fantastic. Now if you could only work on getting those meddling PvErs into WvW more often. We have seen what you can do when the PvE events are absent. I would personally love to see more of this. Maybe that is why Anet put PvE in WvW? To inspire the GoMmie Bears. Either way amazing job this season.
Anvil Rock: Let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your first win in over 7 months. Predicted to be dead last by almost everyone. You guys may have had a mass exodus but you are slowly bringing yourself back together. From reading the forums I am going to say good job on improving your homeland defense and keep it up. May your rebound be a quick one.
Kaineng: My dear KN. You have showed your server is not dead. You just lack WvW guilds. Find those dedicated WvWs left and remake that core group you guys are lacking. You came in fully aware you guys lost nearly everyone and still put up a fight. Good job. Your early morning / late night crew is somewhat intact compared to other bronze league standards. We saw that when you faced SF and other servers. Wake up that sleeping beast and start anew.
Devona’s Rest: My personal favorite server since of the name. You guys have had some rough patches as well. I made some friends while fighting your server. You guys lack numbers but have heart. Once again try and find those core WvWs and come together to form a guild. Keep up the good work you guys can work through this bind and get that engine roaring.
Eredon Terrace: The Roaming Capital of Bronze League. You guys put up an amazing fight. I will not deny you fell short of expectations. But the sportsmanship award goes to you guys by far. Not once complaining about any matchup you guys stood strong in what you had. I wish you the best of luck next year and may you come out punching.
@Sagittia, I love your roundup post. You did a great job finding something positive to say about every server.

Our next segment will be the Bronze League Guild Recap. Please note I am not aware of every server or guild so I will do my best to get as many as I can. Yes, this area will have trolling. So put on your big boy pants and lets get this started.
- [Dx]: A guild from HoD. This was probably the guild with the biggest impact in leagues in my opinion. This was our Asian night time crew that carried us in the hard matches and we would not have been where we are without them.
- [Yarr]: A guild from FC. You guys are an annoying roaming guild that I personally love. Silent you are a sexy beast <3. V-Dee stop being killed by rangers. Fxpo you need another legendary. Y Not you smell. I love you all, except Winter. You know why. Also please run a real build with real runes.
- [Fun]: A recently formed guild on DH. I am not sure if you made the impact to DH WvW force or not since I have not face you guys. Either way I’m glad to see another WvW guild come up and good luck in the future.
- [IoM /DI]: Heard some people got you confused with the IoM from BG so you had to change your name. Either way keep it up and get ET that kick they need to leap to better things.
- [MU]: Another guild from HoD. You brought 5 people and have become a force in WvW. Keep it up you PPT gazers and learn to open field better you noobs. Maybe if you didn’t hide behind siege you would be good. Hodor out! <3 But seriously they made a huge impact on HoD wvw game and getting people into the open field fights.
- [CoSA]: The biggest guild in Bronze league. Keep it up guys work together and perfect your WvWing. You’ll be a big player in upcoming seasons. With your 1000 members or so. It was fun fighting against you.
- [Deth]: Undefeated in GvGs during the league. I don’t think any other guild has managed to do this. You guys have perfected the double dodge roll and it amazes everyone still. The way you guys avoid the fights is breath taking. Keep up the dodges and maybe one day Aldix will return!
- [RH]: Keep doing your thing boys. Regardless of numbers you will be out there fighting. Love the tenacity. You may be a small guild but you have experience.
- [VLK]: The RP Filipino guild that packs a punch in WvW. You guys really need to stop running so many Charr Hammer Warriors and learn to play more classes. Like Thieves and Mesmers.
To all the other guilds that have not been mentioned and spend countless hours defending and attacking WvW. I salute you and keep up the great work. It is these guilds that will carry a server not the big WvW guilds.
I think this about raps up my summary of the Bronze League. I wish every server the best up luck and may the bags be plenty. Since we know now the WvW rewards are a joke.
I shall leave you with the VLK “Yo Mama” joke in hope I do not get banned.

*Sorry for the delay I have a 1 hour 1 post limit…
I’m going to put this in persepective the reason IoJ fell apart and why they were not in bronze if because up until the week before leagues started matchups like this were occurring
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/99
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/101
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/105
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/109
4/6 weeks IoJ Rofl stomped servers (other matchups had SBI in them) Then BP got a decent SEA transfer and with that IoJ fairweather Oceanics didnt want to play cuz they werent just rofl stomping at Oceanic time any more which lead too
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/111
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/32/113
Around this time SIC left the server as the community decided they disliked there attitude and once the last week rolled around b4 leagues [SE] had about 15 of its core members xfer off IoJ without premission from the guild leader or a group decision for the guild leaving [SE] leader with no choice but to move the guild. With SE gone one of IoJ’s biggest guilds and another guild lining up to leave [CORE] spent the entire week decussing weather or not to go and the final decision was to leave.
Basically if IoJ had no chance of being in bronze league at that point we were still doubling HoD’s scores due to last second xfers is why IoJ is at the bottom of silver if the guilds hadnt left we would have been mid silver fighting servers like Ebay and CD with close match ups Even now IoJ can beat NSP/Bronze league servers not by nearly as much as b4 but its because of there great oceanics so basically coverage wins

-“We have Cannons we dont need Cloths”
- [Deth]: Undefeated in GvGs during the league. I don’t think any other guild has managed to do this. You guys have perfected the double dodge roll and it amazes everyone still. The way you guys avoid the fights is breath taking. Keep up the dodges and maybe one day Aldix will return!
This made me laugh so hard I spit my gatorade out all over my keyboard.
On another note was lots of fun the four weeks I was in Bronze league in my opinion was definitely a good decision to get out of silver and come down here gl to all the servers in the RNG the next couple of weeks hope you guys with come fight the might of AR!

I too had a lot of fun in WvW this season. All the matches were well fought and none were the boring stomp fests like those we in Kaineng had on the way down to Bronze before the season. I look forward to seeing all of you again, on the battlefield.
Congrats to HoD and all those that participated!

I reject your foo, foo! While i was their early to congratulate GoM on their surprise showing at th beginning of the league, I stand but my statement aimed at the whiners over the past 7 weeks:
“It amazes me that you guys pule in the forums every day for 7 weeks straight instead of using that energy to improve your servers. ”
I have zero respect for whiners, and people that whine in games even less. No excuses.
You’re free to list to all the things you’ve put in to make Henge of Denravi a success. Maybe you will be the amazing person who will teach us to make our servers the success yours is!
I have worked hard in my support of Denravi and worked to help us wherever I could, and many folks here know. Some even know the behind the scenes stuff I do for HoD.
Im not going to list anything. Todays achievement is the credit of many people who worked hard even when things looked bleak, most of whom nobody on here even knows exist – but they showed up every day to turn our server around. Today belongs to every last person on HoD – from the newest WvW fan to the old Titian Alliance players who stuck with their server. /cheers HoD!
-Plains@HoD
BTW: yes, I would be an asset for your server. but I suspect Henge of Denravi is stuck with me.
Ya’ll spouting nonsense son! As was said before, HoD only ever maintained its position, never tanked and never increased, because weeks leading up to leagues we got hit with strong Mid Silver dudes.
And honestly, I thought SF would have taken first… Playing against them was stupid scary week 4. But how did we manage to pull out on top week after week, even though if you look at our server populations, we have less then most US servers? We adjusted our game plan…
Listen, I watched HoD gain a lot of fairweathers… who later then turned into main stay WvWs because of our commanders. Seriously, those guys were so well organized, communicative, and encouraging, you couldn’t help but feel like your doing your part for something more grand than you. And we actually had a hugely hard time with SF week 4 because of their insane numbers. But the commanders switched up our game plan to spread, let SF zerg do its thing, but for every camp 80 of them flip, 20 of us get 3 camps at the same time. In their BL. It was a sound plan, and a smart one, and the commanders very clearly lead us to do it in an organized way.
I think Ive only ever seen our server argue once during the whole 7 weeks, and not because we were doing “Awesome” because we were all on board of keeping our advantage up, and keeping an eye out for each other. 3 musketeers like. Ya all make it seem like we tanked an naturally could crush everyone. We have less WvW population than at least half of bronze, a lot of the time zerging wasnt the best option… We do have a great night coverage team, and awesome scouts, so our zerg knew exactly where to hit, every time.
And hey, I watched GoM be a server that I didnt expect anything from, wipe me. So what we were swinging for the fences, a lot of your server took up our challenge and got way better. I’m really proud of Bronze, as it seems like our league has toss ups. The first post in this thread declares Kein as the probable winner…
Really… good job everyone, everyone worked their kitten off… Sheesh, no need to get so aggressive and hurt over it.
We have less WvW population than at least half of bronze.
Would you like to know how we know you are out of touch?

Big fan of HoD, but you’re easily top 3 in bronze and possibly number 1 in numbers. I’ve heard you guys can queue 4 maps on reset, according to a player from HoD. Darkhaven queued 2 in leagues, and I hear the same is true of SF. Oddly enough you guys gave us outnumbered in our BL this last reset.

Sometimes we get a queue on ET BL during prime time, when everyone is pilled inside our garrison (which is likely our only node on all four maps).

What you may have heard is not always the case of what in fact happened.
The only night all 4 maps were queued were those first two weeks of league. A number of other servers had this problem in Bronze as was reflected on these boards when people claimed they could not get in due to the PVE masses seeking their achievements.
It was not just HOD that had those issues. Once those numbers tailed off as they did for all servers, the only time I ever had to queue by recollection was for EB. Reset night might have seen 3 of the 4 maps queued but I always managed to get in without a wait into at least one.

you must have got in before the queue. i saw HoD players quoted as late as week 5 stating “we queued all maps again guys great job”

Regardless, HoD had the highest population in bronze league by far.
Ok, so whats going on with the AR/SF matchup?
Same thing that happened last week
[url=https://] [/url]
No I live on the west coast and on reset night do not get home until around 6 pacific.
This past week there was only a queue on eb on reset.
You WILL recall there were servers claiming that if you were green you could not get in a map? That was not just HOD.
When I came home the first few weeks of reset I could not get in for some time. Since those fairweather type numbers dropped there have been no issues.
Now before leagues started I never experienced a queue unless it was on EB on ANY of the maps. This suggests to me that our numbers were not big enough to create such a queue. So if we follow this along logically and while this anecdotal as it was my experience.
1>Prior to leagues get no queue unless it EB. This does not suugest a larger population in WvW.
2>Leagues start on first few weeks a queue on every map when I try to login at same time. This happens to many servers as evidenced by the complaints on the boards. This suggests to me an influx of PVE types for every server.
3>After a few weeks in WvW of leagues I no longer have a queue on every map and can get in at least one. This suggests the influx of players from WvW wanes.
4>Early season and on the queues on reset night no longer lock every map and I can always get in. This might have been week 3 or 4 but I certainly noticed the no wait.
Now we might have queued more maps reset night then others from midseason on but that merely reflects the bandwagon effect and the likelihood that more of those once PvE players became WvW players. A good portion of this can be attributed IMHO to fact we were winning. If those PvE players came in on a weaker server and were getting wiped every night they might have just stopped playing. If they play and find themselves winning every night they say “Hey I can do this, I will stick around”.
Last week and the week before that and the one before that I know as a fact I had no queue at all unless I tried EB. I always got in our own BL.
This past reset night as leagues ended I got into EB my first ty logging in Albeit I logged in later then usual.

>>Regardless, HoD had the highest population in bronze league by far.
Anecdotal and can not be demonstrated. I would suggest SF had greater numbers then us . When I did manage to get into Ebay we had a number of servers that had bigger numbers then us. There were weeks I went to all maps and got the outnumbered on at least two of them and in particular those first few days with SF.
Since the numbers are fluid it hard to accurately claim one server outnumbers all the others in WvW. One more time if a servers guilds work together more then any others and pull in guilds from other servers then they can give the “appearance” have having grater numbers as they get local number superiority as needed.
I recall one night in our OWN Borderlands having lost Garrison because we were outnumbered. I can not recall the enemy but they were well dug in and we had a treb set in Nwest tower. We had three guilds working to try and get it back and two were pulled to go to another map for an emergency. The one remaining was asked to stick around and give the impression we were still there in numbers so that enemy remain dug in.
If those guys in Garrison came out they would have wiped us. We just kept hitting and retreating giving the appearances that we still had numerical advantage, That enemy remained glued in Garri even as they outnumbered us until those other guilds returned from the other maps.
Now in a case like this those people in Garri think we outnumber them. We did not. As it turned out those two guilds that rushed to that other map bounced to a second to salvage a keep in trouble before they got back to us. In both those cases the receiving end would think “They outnumber us”.
The fact was maps were stripped to gain that advantage.
Now the need to do this waned later in the season. This again the bandwagon effect kitten experienced with that sudden drop in numbers.
That day of the Golem rush I was in our own BL all evening. We had the outnumbered all that time with less then 20 of us on the entire map. All of those people that FC saw came from other maps and were in fact attracted in those numbers just be wanting to SEE all those golems. They might not have come over in such numbers were it not for those Golems.

Of course it is anecdotal, anet doesn’t release the numbers. I don’t know why you would bother arguing this fact. I guess there are just two HoD players that are delusional enough to believe that they can get into more maps that are not queued therefore HoD has less numbers. FC managed to queue 3 maps during our last encounter with HoD. HoD queued 4. During the second to last week HoD queued multiple borders (4 according to various friends I have on HoD) while FC managed a solid 1. HoD can also queue EB throughout the course of the week where FC barely manages to queue 1. FC also has a larger population than anyone but DH and SF. People from other servers say that HoD has the largest numbers and those people have been from SF, DH and smaller servers like DR too.
These are all either very strange phenomena or HoD has the largest wvw population. You can take your pick but know that almost everyone on here thinks you are a troll or are blind to everything but that 1 skill.
To be sure HoD has a good volume of skilled players and some rather impressive tactics and division of its numbers at certain times.
To argue HoD won the league with sheer average player skill and tactics alone however is madness to the utmost, I hate to say. If it was only ever cases of one large zergball warping from wp to wp creating illusions of multi-zerg, then FC probably would of pulled second and you’d hear the same reports about us 24/7 since we’re apparently pros at mega zerg ball stacking and leaving for greener Karma filled waters.
Fact is, when you shift TS channels and hear reports of Henge zergs numbering upwards of 50 people in three different map channels in the span of 2 minutes, it’s not mere smoke being blown from a jealous server. Granted these are somewhat rare occasions, and getting your points hit from lack of coverage is also a factor.
As for the “tanking” thing, I’m surprised anyone holds that against HoD. It’s not like we’d of done much better against any other potential Bronze winning contender from the silver league.
It’s disappointing however that the rewards amounted to so little, especially when you still have to go through the hell of leveling crafting and acquiring a large amount of ascended mats to make an ascended weapon. In the very least, it would of been nice to see more mats in the chest.
Ferguson’s Crossing server.

Ok, so whats going on with the AR/SF matchup?
Same thing that happened last week
I heard it’s somenthing to do with oceanics…
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
Ok, so whats going on with the AR/SF matchup?
We beat AR by the same amount we beat SF. AR has a night crew lol, that’s the main difference. SF beats them in prime time, but when night comes… Anyways. I’m really surprised by how poorly Dh is doing this week. I guess it’s just cus we’re against 2 servers that can defend their own BL lol.
I think certain servers are going to be hit hard by the season ending. SF and Dh are probably two of those servers.

Your labeling a person a troll because of a difference in opinion is both childish and petulant and shows exactly where you are coming from. As to your suggestion that you speak for “everyone here” I will take that as hyperbole as I think most FC players have a bit more class.

I do not think there many arguing that HOD won sheerly because of skill. It only one of the factors. The single largest factor is however not numbers but our off hours coverage from DX. This was most telling in our match with SF. I would turn in at night that first round with HOD having a lead of a few hundred points if that and wake up to find our night crew widened that gap to a few thousand.
The fact remains however that we did not have these 50 man zergs running each and every map and i was on our own borderland maps many times wherein we were getting that outnumbered flag.
The single most obvious example is that Golem rush your own server achieved. If we had these zergs on every map we would not have lost an upgraded hills, Bay, and Garrison before we managed to stop it. Those people came from other borderlands.
I will not speculate as top how many lands FC had to strip to get that zerg to HOD Borderlands.
From my own experience I think numbers wise AR, ET, DR were at the bottom of the list. Kenieng would be in that lower population group as well. GOM was a strange one sometimes having great numbers and then dropping off. They were unpredictable.
Hod, SF and DH had the higher levels . FC In our first week match seemed to have more then it did the second time around.

Ferguson’s Crossing server.
SF beats us in prime time NA no doubt. Too bad wvw doesn’t cater to prime time numbers. AR has kept both kain and SF keeps in their bl away from upgrades this entire reset weekend. Every night when our NA players stay up late to help our oceanic players out, we have kept our T3 keeps/towers. So it minimizes our overall coverage. AR is a server of opportunity. The score will only get more inflated once the weekdays arrives because like we have said….AR gets better as the weekdays come. Regardless of the pvd talk, in theory we at AR believe that we can attract more wvw people by not losing our ptt to night capping. A lot of our NA players understand SF coverage gap and take advantage anytime we get. So after all the SF smack talk in week 2 of season 1, we at AR are hungry to show we can compete against servers in an overall wvw fashion. When we night cap SF/kain it is due to server determination…not 100% oceanics transfers.

Oh not so rare. I tended to play our home borderlands a lot and they were overrun or saw upgraded keeps fall more then just a few times. We took them back by calling on other maps. If all maps zerged by HOD as some suggest we would never of had to do this. As I recall on that very first week FC was flipping a lot of our home borders with a zerg that had numbers we did not match. I distinctly recall one of those very early battles where they flipped Woodhaven and myself and the entire crew on HOD at the time wondering how to deal with those numbers as we tried to siege up Garrison. ( I do believe though am not certain FC then took Garri before we managed to recover)
People do not like playing defense as much. You flip less keeps when trying to hold on so get less of them champion loot sacks i guess which is why there always those longer queues for EB. Those keeps and castles always flip back and forth.
