Sorry if you have commented this before, but now you can talk with Evon and you can make fun of him for his election lost or give him your support.

I, as a faithfull Kiel’s supporter, made fun of him, and at the end he told me something interesting: That the city is in danger, and Kiel is playng in fractals and the lion guard is in Caledon Forest…
He believes that Scarlet is going to attack Lion’s Arc…
Could it be a hint of what is coming in january? That will be the final of the LS 1st season?

You can talk to Kiel as well, and you have the same options (You can either tell her you’re glad she won and you supported her, tell her you didn’t support her, or tell her you voted for both of them). She’s in front of the Trading Post building. She doesn’t really say anything particularly interesting though, even if you tell her you didn’t vote for her she just says she’s going to continue to work for you even though you didn’t.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a hint towards something. I’ve long suspected that Evon is “Mister E” from the message sent to players during Dragon Bash. If anyone would know about the activities of pirates (like the Aetherblades) it’d be the leader of a merchant guild.

Kiel still seems to be determined that the Consortium is the bigger threat at the moment with their morally ambiguous attitude. If she turns into an Ellen Ripley caricature, something tells me it won’t be pretty. Also I take it Magnus told her he would be dealing with Scarlet personally, so she can do her own thing.

Scarlet already attacked LA – that’s how we ended up having to vote for a new Council member in the first place.

It wouldn’t surprise me if she did it again, but they’ve got plenty of defences. As well as the Lion Guard (who aren’t all out in the forest) there’s the 3 Orders who might not be explicitly defending LA but they all have an interest in keeping it safe, the armies of the various playable races who also have an interest in having a ‘neutral’ city and of course all the players. If she attacks we’ll all be there to stop her.

What people are forgetting is that it’s actually Magnus that’s pulling Ellen’s strings. She wouldn’t have gotten on the council if it weren’t for his pressuring Kiel to run, not to mention he was very insistent on making her so. He’s a pirate just like the rest (even Kiel herself, don’t forget that. She may be a Lionguard, but that doesn’t change what they are.) Surely there’s something in it for him.

Evon might be a businessman, but at least that’s the only thing we have to worry about with him. He wouldn’t go and try to hurt his main source of profit and income.

Therefore it is in our interest to see that he continues getting profit from it. He is also predictable in this. Kiel on the other hand not only is a loose cannon, but she’s acting in the best interest of Magnus. And i have no idea what are Magnus’ goals.

Just wait. The current dialogue in game hints at some upcoming Living Stories involving the feud between Evon and Kiel. And as you can see, Evon is ever so worried about Lion’s Arch, the city that he helped save.

Well technically he did as he didn’t charge space for the refugees that swarmed to LA, crowding the city and not offering anything in terms of trade. I figure him not raising quite a fuss in that regard was quite nice! Especially given the waterfall view they were given and a few bonfires!

That and Evon’s one of the reasons LA is such a notable place to visit due to his company and trade.

Let’s overthrow Kiel and put Gnashblade in office! We need someone who will defend Lion’s Arch, not hide in Fractals as it comes crashing down around it’s citizens.

No, that’s not what happened. Basically Evon disagreed with his Legionnaire on how they were going to set up their operation in LA. His Legionnaire wanted to extort money from the citizens (aka do what the pirates do); Evon wanted to set up a legitimate trading operation. Evon challenged his Legionnaire and killed her (she attacked him first), and has owned the Black Lion Trading Company ever since.

This also means that the BLTC is actually a front for a spying operation in LA. (Although I’ll grant this was years ago and Evon may have gone rogue since then. We certainly don’t see his original warband around anymore.) Humans with Separatist loyalties may want to reconsider their patronage of the BLTC as a result.

He was one of the most important citizens (an asura) of LA before it became a “city.” He was a businessman who managed trade when the town was still young.

Edsnow Wolfden released secret documents proving The Consortium used Fractal technology to manipulate the results of the election and the events leading up to it. Neither the Consortium or Kiel are anything more than pawns.
