The forums have appeared to have been blown up, and I’m hoping a contest will help cool the jets and calm the fires in everyone’s soul!

Thank you to BBox (and guildies) for their help deciding on the next contest!

So, the rules: I want your in game Cosplays. You may be dressed up as any fictional character from any show, manga, book, movie, game, etc. If you are Cosplaying as another GW2 character, I require that you take a screen beside said character (It can be a mini). If this is not possible, your cosplay is invalid. Also, no tonics are allowed.

With your Cosplay screens, I want a picture of the character you’re trying to emulate. If it is Sailor Moon, for instance, give me a picture of Sailor Moon along with your screen.

Important facts on this contest: The more photogenic and nice the screen looks, the better. (I am saying this so that folks don’t accuse me of not spelling it out) If you play on a toaster, You can use photoshop or sweetFX to make the screen more shiny. Alternatively, find a friend who plays on a higher functioning toaster. If you see me online, feel free to ask me to take a screen for you, as I play on a nice toaster oven.

The character MUST be your own character.

So what are the prizes?

First place: A giftable gem store item(s) worth 800 gems

Second place: A giftable gem store item(s) worth 600 gems

Lilith’s Choice: (My favorite character of all those posted) A pack of transmutation charges

Honorable mentions: Some other small prize (last time it was 5 ecto, Not sure this time!)

When does it end? Friday 8/29 around noon EST.

Whelp I play on a toaster but what the heck.

Here’s my character Queen Of The Moors cosplaying as Angelina Jolie’s version of Maleficent.

Hmm I should post all my characters, I have Ridkitten, Captain Planet, Vash the Stampede, Luigi, Samurai Pizza Cat, Yoda…. but nah.

Yay, cosplay. First 2 are The Black Knight, and Zelgius. They are the same character technically, but made sure I could switch between them. Next is Ilyana, a Thunder Mage who’s always hungry. Mia, shes eccentric and searches for her archrival. After her is Titania, the calm deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries. Finally Ike, leader of the mercenaries and legendary hero.

Hope it’s ok to have this many..I couldn’t pick just one

Hello Lilith,

On the Scooby-Doo Cosplay, I am Velma and Daphne (Daphne is a mesmer clone, I dressed up as her, made a mesmer clone, and then dressed up as Velma). On the Powerpuff Girls Cosplay I am dressed up as all of them! They are all mesmer clones and my character is hidden behind Blossom taking the screenshot. I made the asura version because a Reddit user requested it.

That Scooby Gang one is absolutely BRILLIANT!

Even though the clothing isn’t exactly the same, it’s the colors that will snap any fans of that series’ attention and the dane just cements the reference. I’m not even a huge fan of Scooby Doo but I absolutely love this cosplay. I could instantly tell what you were going for from just the thumbnail and gave a chuckle and nearly broke into tears from laughter when I clicked the link.

I’ll just share the character I made at launch dedicated to Riou from my favorite RPG series; Suikoden. Too bad there’s actual tunic style armor, and the town clothes patch messed up the colors. :o

I name all of my characters after those from Chrono Trigger, mine aren’t particularly exact as I could get, but these are the two which do have a cosplay outfit for currently (2/3 of my 80s).

First up is Magus, aka Janus:

He is a master of the elements in game, but uses a Scythe. I decided on Elementalist instead of Necro to stay true to the feel of the character. Maybe one day I’ll get the scythe staff skin, but currently I don’t use a Staff, and I don’t have that much gold to drop on a skin for something I don’t use. Maybe soon!

This one is my main! She is fantastic, and an Engineer as true to her in-game love for science. The second photo you can see her in what I use this outfit for (healing gear) her Pistol/Shield with her normal shoulders/backpiece as well which I disabled for the first shot. Again, not exact, but I really love the way the outfit looks and it being pretty while being reminiscent of the original is important. (I wish the aviator helm/aetherblade helm/etc didn’t cut out hair and look crappy, or she’d have one of those on. Also too bad I don’t have a pic of before I changed her hair, but oh well!)

I won’t be entering this one as I actively shy away from making MMO characters that look like media images. However I am fascinated by how well people have been able to use GW2 armor and dyes to match a variety of looks.

Hmm, I suppose I could be tempted to try making one of the Four Musketeers — I’d have to pick what interpretation, though. And spend a ton of transmute charges on a new alt. So I’ll just sit back and enjoy what you all are doing instead
