Mesmer doesn’t have a good burst, but her damage isn’t that bad either. Mage Strike is iWarlock’s auto. I might or might have not Undead sigils on my weapons.

Runes/Sigils/Potions don’t apply to phantasms. If it did, you’d be seeing Warlocks wrecking havoc in pve meta

Sword Mes / 3xWarlocks at 10 condis, with full buffs, with runes/sigils/potions applying to phantasms = 17.7k dps

First, I’d recommend that if this is truly a bug, it be posted in detail in the Bug Forums.

However, having been shown it, I’ll see if the QA Team has also noted the thread and we may be able to give you an update in the next few days.

Sounds great, thougt for a second that A-Net truely thougt it was a good idea to give lupi Necrid Bolts :P

The funniest part about lupi is that he’s now easier to do off-wall, dancing circles with him. Two completely useless attacks (rapidfire and bubble) save you energy and give time to heal up.

I’m actually considering the effect of missile deflection. Since you can easily get a projectile every 3s, could it get worth the loss of berserker’s power (not sure bout trait name) somehow ?

Actually, managed to kill him using axe/sword+gs BUT double energy sigil (and i dont know why i used prec signet instead of disc banner…) and it took like ~13 mins.
And today used my “tank” warrior in p/p/t gear with 00662 build and was able to eat 4-5 bolts in a row but such fun took me ~30 mins.

There, there Frifoxy At least mesmer is quite good with world bosses, especially the one we cannot crit like Teq and Wurm. Also do not forget that conjured weapons are aplenty to use. Those big numbers are just so satisfying

With a good engi, it’s really easy to add a 7-condi carpet for iWarlock to proc big damage. I’ve had a shatter mesmer hit my shoutbow warrior with Mage Strike for almost 5k once in sPvP. It was a nasty surprise because I always had a bad prejudice about staff mesmer damage

For guardian I used 4/6/0/2/2 with scepter/focus and sword/shield, and it was fairly easy. Some classes have it way better than others though, and I don’t think we should achieve difficulty by modifying what was a good encounter before. I wish they’ll revert it.

It seems unlikely that they would change that and avoid other issues. It also happened alongside a ton of other major bugs. Remember when people were saying the same thing about alphard. Then they fixed it.

How can you be sure that lupi’s autoattack is not supposed to hit in melee range? After all, Anet changed spider queen’s behaviour in the past.

Well I asked a dev about it and they confirmed that as far as they knew they didn’t intend to change ANYTHING having to do with Lupicus in the past few patches. Everything that has happened were unintentionally caused by changing other things, resulting in a lot of unexpected changes with bosses and mobs such as the bug where everything with a cone attack had a 180 degree radius etc.

The only thing that we aren’t sure of is whether or not it was a bug for the autoattack to miss in melee range all along. The person that I spoke with didn’t know the answer to it, but my personal guess is that due to it being popularly disliked now they will most likely change Lupicus back to how he was before.

Either way I really hope they revert Lupi to his former behavior. I don’t like taking clownshoes perma-vigour/arcane energy builds to solo him and after all of the damage-related nerfs in the past year I think he took long enough to solo/low man to begin with.

The change has like absolutely no impact on group play, but it makes pugging even more annoying than before because now even more groups demand 1shotting him. I only have a limited amount of underwater nets to immobilize him in phase 1 you know.

The autoattack bug doesn’t really do anything for difficulty, it’s more of a build check. So I’m not too sure I understand how anyone finds it a better idea for him to be like this other than temporary refreshment.

I was under the impression that they were “tracking” projectiles, as for just splash damage I’ve been quite a ways away and had them hit still, they’d have to have a very large splash if it was just that (like hit at the edge of the circle and have a splash diameter greater than the radius of the red circle).

Not sure if anyone of the original encounter designers still work for anet. Hrouda was one of the lead designers for dungeons at release and hes gone. So i doubt you will get dev confirmation on intended design for dungeons. At this point they should just make changes which make sense for the game and maintain current encounters as they are if they are fine.

So that means fix necrid bolt in this case. Because lupi was fine before and its not popular now. Pugs rely on cheesing to avoid it. It completely destroys necros viability for the fight. And its just annoying how every other class has too sacrifice so much damage to survive.

Whatever they do, I hope they stay away from “unblockable” projectiles that the game doesn’t even warn you about.

Look at Mai Trin, it’s pretty kitten annoying when her swirl projectiles, or Horrik’s just go through a reflect despite being clearly projectiles.

The obvious fix is that in the case where the reflected damage would be too strong, simply make it absorb the projectiles instead of reflecting the damage.

But to nerf a utility that keeps classes like mesmer and guardian barely within meta groups is pretty crappy.

You nerf reflects, people are just going to stack thieves and eles and maybe a single warrior.

Funny thing is Guards/Mesmers are still very nice on Mai Trin for their repeatable blocks to play designated blocker on the other side of the room

I’m ok with ‘unblockable"projectiles, I just wish it made more sense. But, either way it’s something that sometimes has to be done to make fights more entertaining.

I will agree though that unblockable projectiles on Lupi would be bullkitten, as the proper recourse on frenzied blast in p2 is to use your blocks on Guard/Engi for instance.

Making projectiles unblockable/unreflectable is the easiest and least-effort fix. So it’s likely what Anet would use against one-shotting Lupi.

Knowing this, it’s probably best to stop asking for a fix to the one-shot and just make it clear in your LFG that you don’t want to use it — same advice as for those who think skipping is an “exploit.”

The fix is pretty simple. Just move projectile point of origin to his head. It being on his belly is really convenient considering its the same height as the top of the wall. :P

Thats the only fix people should ask for. Otherwise dont ask for a 1shot fix. Obviously necrid bolt and necrid trap should be reverted. And AI player tracking should be fixed.

The solutions I offered were:

“Suggested solutions:
a) Maybe make it out of bounds to place reflects up on top of the wall? This could be possible by removing the flat surface from the top of the arena.
b) Change the point of the projectiles origin to come from Lupicus’s head.”

I see both of these as viable solutions to the problem. Despite the fact that I normally hate invisible walls, I’d be more than welcome for them to wall off the flat surface on the top of the arena, on the inside. The outside of the arena would still have the flat surface, but I’m pretty sure he’d go invulnerable after the first hit if a person was out there placing a reflect for it.

EDIT: It might actually be more work for them to change the point of origin for the projectiles because it wouldn’t make sense for them to do that without changing the animation. If you ever zoom out to look at Lupi while he uses his phase 2 frenzied blasts you can clearly see them coming from his chest, so I think walling off the top of the arena would probably be a lot better tbh because I can’t think of how anyone would be capable of placing reflects at where the projectiles originate if they aren’t able to place their temporal curtain/feedback/WoR on top of the arena.

I kind of see changing the walls as harder to do. And i can forsee loads of new bugs resulting from it. Such as lupi resetting on the walls aswell as the doors. Besides i think walls should be possible to use to the players advantage. I have no problem with the whole lupi 1 shot thing (its kind of smart). But i admit it is a bit too effective. So i would personally just hope for the projectiles to be moved or nothing done at all.

Another solution would be to cap the amount of reflected projectiles. Any projectile over the cap just gets absorbed instead. Not sure if that would be possible though.

Well that’s a fair point in that it might cause him to bug like that, but there’s no guarantee of that happening. Afterall you can actually wall him near the sides of the arena entrance and he doesn’t bug out from that, despite the walls being significantly higher than his head.

As for your capped reflected projectiles I’d only be cool with that if it were high enough so that it’s still possible for coordinated groups to do phase 3 skips off the wall :P
