No boosters (gem store or living story items), all other food allowed. Pre combat-stacking allowed, but only solo. Food changing during the kill allowed.

Geez, i really need to start recording, but my Laptop’s so bad that i get like sub 10 fp/s… Also got my guardian melee solo in earlier, took me less time than i thought it would!

Dub what build do you use for your mesmer solo?

Need to practice lupi on my mes a bit… After 2 month break I’ve been missing too many feedbacks.

Watch sandy’s mesmer solo, i’ll add the link tomorrow. He has been using 10/30/0/20/10 which is what i’ll use too for my mesmer speedkill. Sadly, speedkilling lupicus is about 95% luck in phase 1.

All rampager’s gear but one celestial ring, because saving money. 2X Lyssa Rune, 2X Mad King Rune, 2X Water rune, +40% condi duration food, Skale Venom as utility food, Undead Slaying and Energy Sigils. I also just remembered that there’s Adventurer runes. These would be really good to use with med kit. I’d probably have used those instead of those that i just mentioned for maximum dodge spam and it’d probably allow me to pick another utility instead of tool kit(gear shield).

I’m currently rendering another Engi solo video, this time without failure or any other player in the instance. Should be up on Youtube in about 2 hours or so.

Most of the success videos don’t get the bubble spawned on them in phase 3. Is that just luck?

Positioning, not luck.

But beware Gary, if you lag, you might still get caged in P3 because the server thinks your are someplace else.

I really need to film all the time just to report all the bug with accompanying video.

And for you guys soloing him on warrior, I have a quick question Are you able to solo him if the NPC is dead without using stability ? (I always die at P1 switch if the NPC is dead and I don’t have stabililty)

I usually try to not trigger phase 2 without having my stability off cooldown. If you don’t use stability, you just need to get lucky that he doesn’t use his shadowstep right away or something.

I was just asking in reference to Muffin video and the fact I got my kitten handed to me earlier this evening trying to do it… until I saw that the NPC wasn’t anywhere to be found in the room ^^. (I know the last grub pops on nearest toon )

(And I did not mean having stability of CD, I meant having no stability skills like Muffin ^^)

Eh, the best i managed was FGJ/Dolyak sig/Fury sig. I’m not good enough to roll without any defensive utility yet. I always seem to get bubbled at the worst times even though i’m standing still in close range, so i decided to just roll with Dolyak sig.

Also if you go offhand sword and he is gonna cage, move a bit away from him and use #5. It blocks a few hits. But if you are in melee range, it only blocks one (no idea why though and it’s not like I aim to test that theory, too dangerous).

Oh and why do you guys go for Dolyak signet instead of balanced stance ? I like the swiftness buff better than the damage reduction one especially since I use the healing signet on Lupi now

Chryzo: sword 5 will block without riposte if you’re not in melee range. But if you are in melee range, even though you might be blocking a ranged attack, riposte will trigger and end the block channel.

Ideally stability should only be activated once so that few seconds of swiftness changing in phase 2 isn’t really helpful. And if you decide to active it during phase 3 for the swiftness you’re almost surely going to get domed after the stability wears off.

Also, if I noticed that correctly, riposte won’t block for first 0.25s, just like whirlwind attack.

Yeah, he usually unleashes his projectiles in two waves and 2-3 projectiles slightly after.

If you switch one of the warriors to a ranger, you will get OP frost spirit and your team can stack bloodlust instead of perception. While the ranger’s dps will be slightly less than the 2nd warrior, the fact that you get 250 extra power for the whole party + 7% base damage modifiers in exchange for 100 precision, you would probably be overall more dps as a party.

Well, if you have not been too lazy to change traits it would be 18 stacks from one warrior and 5 from you. 2 stacks should come from Ele Air 25.

Useless for the kill, though. Vuln gets to 25 in Phase 1 almost instantly anyway, quick vuln stacking is needed in phase 2 before first aoe projectiles get reflected.

Or, you could retrait the ele(s) to have more damage, instead of the 25 in air. In which case the Ranger is even more beneficial.

Opening strike is useless with our current setup. Might be crucial with different traits though.

I’m not an ele player, but Guang posted some stuff ages ago. Was something like 25/0/25/20/0. Maybe in reality those traits aren’t actually better, it was just something I wrote down after Guang posted it somewhere.

Oh, and on the assumption that you have a Ranger.

Maybe not worse but there are “ifs” that has to be met.

I would imagine the switch from Perception to Bloodlust combined with Frost Spirit alone would be worthwhile. But you do have an issue with Vuln in phase two, one warrior could do 18, but the rest would be iffy.

Frankly, it’s not the only setup that’s viable. We (Dub and me) were considering different team composition and strategy but ultimately we just went ahead with our normal fractal team (excluding traits obviously).
