ahh forum bug! Ahh there’s the raid, Kills bugs dead forever, in case there is some kind of live temporary killing.

So, I was thinking I should probably find a dungeon/fractal guild as I started playing a bit more often. Any suggestions? I’m not serious enough (or skilled enough yet ) to go for one of those big time guilds but looking for something a bit more casual, not PHIW casual but just casual casual.

I’m having fun in [ARES], they’re strong in dungeons but don’t have a lot of fractalers. They also have a pretty dedicated pvp crowd.

i honestly do not know any fractal guilds that are like that, since my guild that I am currently in hates fractals like a religion. Been wanting to get into fractals myself as well.

I’ve never had a salad before so I took the plunge leveling my engi because of the xp weekend. I was afraid it would be a kind of odd combination but I actually love it. I wanted an excuse to use mawdry so I’m rocking purple for now, but maybe in future I’ll play around with the teal/red/orange mordrem look.

I believe they are intentionally avoiding that word because even if they introduced instanced content. They dont want to use the same design as our classic dungeons. So we may get new types of instanced content. Maybe elite zones or instanced bosses.

There was also a fire attunement effect. So id be very surprised if it turns out that wasnt an ele.

My group of friends always need 1 or 2 more for fractal 50, usually around reset time or a bit later

@deSade: Speculation says guard will have long bow and ele will have sword. One thing I’ve concerned about is once you go into specialization, you lose most of your original profession- based skills/traits (to earn the new one). That’s why I made two eles

You can swap between them like you can swap traits. Theres no reason to create 2 of the same class.

Agreed with spoj. That wouldn’t make sense with the actual philosophy of the game IMO.

I just want an excuse to finally have a male for my harem. And so that I don’t have to swap stat/build/gear too much in PvP x)

Haha. My doubles are used for storage/crafting. Splitting my gear between them was too much hassle.

And no, hehe, I PUGed it the other day, it was an interesting experience, Water camping staff Ele, 2 thieves who didn’t stealth, good times Got it done though. I am now a dungeon master!

And Iris, you know I’m down (and Minigrump too), though I’m not great, still learning all the tricks in fractals. I really wish some of the bosses were larger, so hard to see if mai trin is shooting or spinning, if anyone has tips on how to figure that out while she’s surrounded by fire/explosions?

My god. The expac gets announced and all the creatures come crawling back out of the woodwork to make anti-zerker threads. The general forum has been 100% confirmed ebola outbreak this week.

On the serious side, my trick is to always stay at her side or back, roughly within 600 range and… count for the CD. She will almost always spin after her pistol teleport shot. That or 2-3 sec later. I use speed signet to run out of the fire aoe so that i won’t waste my dodge.

Several particularly illogical and ignorant anti-zerker posts almost drew a response from me. But then I realized the posters don’t want an actual conversation. They simply want to scream down the hall of the asylum.

I like the casuals, they’re nice persons. I’m glad that they don’t care about how we play the game, that they’re always open for advice, that they know what they’re talking about and that they share my opinion that berserker is too easy and takes the fun out of the game!

They are (mostly) stubborn people, trying to remove everything they don’t understand / play. Then they complain about how toxic the such called “elitist“ community is. In fact they are the ones being toxic.
I gave up hope on them and only jump into their discussions every now and then.
I thought Nemmi, VDGM and Vne were exceptions, but the majority of the casuals seem to be their clones.

People who post on the forums more than once a week, or make half hour long youtube videos are not casuals.

Sorry I just hate that the term casual has come to mean the same thing as someone who simply play sub par. That’s not what casual means, it’s a terrible video game connotation that derived from older MMOs where gameplay at the top end was held back because the majority of players simply didn’t have the time to invest to be there (read not being able to do 6+ hour raids).

I realize I may be wasting my breath but it just bugs me that we’ve continued to create a new meaning for that word. The true casual nature of GW2 and most newer MMOs is great, the fact that you can play them a couple hours a week and have plenty of fun, heck even less if you wanted to. And in that time you could be soloing Arah, just because you don’t play all the time doesn’t mean you have to be bad.

Well its fairly easy PvF because their position is one of complete ignorance and misunderstanding. Unlike arguing with someone on a truly debatable topic, they are simply 100% wrong. So this makes it fun to point out their logical lapses since there is 0% chance they can turn the tables on you.

There is a subgame of player vs moderator where you try to demonstrate your complete disdain for them without getting infracted for “being disrespectful.” I find there are certain dismissive terms that infuriate the nerf-zerker-crowd but pass by the moderator. Since I don’t want the game to get ruined I’ll refrain from mentioning them specifically.

Like, isn’t the new skills and profession thingy supposed to bring some fresh air to this stale game? The way they’re presenting specialisations, it sounds like they’re trying for new spins on the existing classes while preventing skill bloat. Basically, they’re giving you more skills, traits and weapon choices, but restrict the combinations possible at any one time. That way, they can add on new stuff continuously without having to worry about eventually ending up with a pool of skills and traits that 99% of the player base don’t know how to sort through, while the remaining 1% combines them for something totally overpowered.

They’re pretty much turning each class into two classes with some overlap and the ability to switch between them at will (assuming you have unlocked all skills, traits and weapons and are out of combat ).

Actually that’s what I was thinking, too … I really can’t see another male character next to your guardian. Plus, I want to see what pretty lady revenant you can come up with .

Does the lfg tool show both NA and EU groups by now? …for some reason, I get mainly EU groups on my NA account, and I can’t join any of them. That’s pretty painful.
