Wat. They put dungeon changes in patch notes. Summary:
- Fixed some safespot exploits (maybe)
- Increased fractal drop rates (maybe)
- Fixed krait getting stuck in walls (maybe)
- Actually improved dredge (maybe)
However, past experience tells us that Anet didn’t bother to test any of these changes. So expect new safespots, new bugs blocking progress, reduced drop rates, and MORE DREDGE.
Ok just tested!
The amount of dredges at the pressure plates officially scales with the level: on lvl 11 there were like 3 dredge, also they only respawn when you stand on the pressure plates.
The turret part is changed in the following way:
no more dredges in front of the turrets: including the big mob group,
There is a pile of lazer rifles on the left wall which anyone can pick up
the three turrets are no longer targettable, they have cooler circles and only do damage.
you must pick up the rifles and pass through the turrets untouched without dodging( you’ll have 0 endurance) to get to the door.
You need three people to simultaneously hit the wall with the rifles to damage it, it does about 1/5 the health I think, and the rifle is unusable afterwards, leaving you with 1 skill: explode.
While hitting the wall, dredge spawn appropriate to the level.
extra stuff:
Turret hitting patterns change through time, meaning you can predict it as easily
If you get hit by a turret while running with the rifle it will be unusable and have the explosion skill instead.
Blinking or portalling with the rifle in hand will make it disappear.
Clown cart:
Rabsovich will spawn alone, with less health and spawn dredge throughout the fight, once rabso is dead, cart disappears.
Not yet sure if the dredge spawn next to rabso or in front of the cart, people will likely just fgs him anyways.
I figured they would go that route with the dredge car since it’s just easier than revamping the entire fight and testing any new mechanics.
Just did a level 49 fractal with my normal team, and yes they did make dredge better, sure a lot of loot was removed but meh,
However, the Uncategorized Fractal seems to have taken a massive buff, the Tom battle was stupid, he went into that spin attack and would not stop, no matter what we did he would not stop the spin attack, then when we finally got past that, the final 4 bosses also seem to have taken a HUGE buff, the boss that fires the rockets will 1 shot your entire party now, you can no longer stack these,
Before today the same group I always run with would normally take about 1 hour to run all 4 fractals after update it was closer to 2 1/2,
Its like a double whammy tonight, no loot from the new content, and no loot from fractals, think its time for dungeon runs only now.
It’s been a long time since I’ve done fractals so my mind is a bit foggy but aren’t those rockets reflectable?

Dredge was never hard to begin with. It was just long. It didn’t get easier. It got shorter.

remember that mystic forge patch about “greater range of rewards” meaning you get lower level items? yeah…
Dredge is a lot easier, and as far as I can tell, the drop rates are worse ^^ my 50 run just got 1 infused ring and 4 people getting nothing, yay ‘fixed’ right?

It’s been two days.
Wow, one run yielded mediocre results? I’m overwhelmed by the evidence :P
Haven’t played it since it changed, but I’m glad they removed the clowncar. It was nothing more than a useless timesink.
If the other changes also make the other parts faster, then even better.
Dredge wasn’t necessarily hard, but way way too long.
