I guess it will, because changing the map reward system is such a super generic gameplay system.
Why should this work only in HoT. From what I have understood from the article is, that they changed the whole system and not just made changes for only the HoT maps.
They clearly speak in the blog about it, how for exampel the new system works on also older maps like the Silver Waste, which is naturally a map, that you can visit and explore, also without owning HoT.So I think its pretty sure and non misunderstandable, that the new system will work just simply for everyone, regardless if now HoT owner, or not.
I didn’t ask about which maps it will affect, as that is clearly stated. I wondered if it will be only available to those that own the expansion. If the account will trigger the reward (bouncy chest/whatever form it takes).
I imagine not, but the article does not say one way or the other. And Masteries and Specializations are HoT-specific.
Yeah, because those thigns that you list up there are part of the expansions MAIN FEATURES
ANet showed with the expansion trailer also alot of small changes, like the currently changed change of the Stability System or the upcoming change of the Defiance System of Enemies, where they will change that system to that new “Break Bar”, which qwill also be a thing, that won’t be exlusive for HoT only, but will also be something with that Anet will actualize the whole game just via a normal Patch for everyone
There is no reason for why anet should make the Map reward System Redesign out of a sudden a HoT exlusive Feature, when it is absolutely NOT part of the expansions Main Features at all, but just a part of many far more minior game improvements, that just happen to touch parts of the games more overall gameplay systems.
Main Features of Heart of Thorns, which are 100% dead sure exlusive to the expansion are only:
- The Revenant
- Guild Halls
- Specializations
- Masteries
- PvP Mode Stronghold
These things above are kind of the Main Features of the expansion, which you wil ldefinetely receive only, when you own HoT.
The change of the Map Reward System is for me clearly just a minor overall game improvement, from which everyone will be able to profit from, which will be something, that we wil lsurely see within one of the next patches as overall game improvement before HoT gets released, just like they changed with the last patch also the Stability System, where the info, that this system will get changed was also something that we got to know based on some HoT related infos
Some things you need just to read between the lines, or would it make sense for you, if ANet would make a Qol Improvement, from which everyone and the whole Game would just profit from by makign the whole game more fun to play on and that in all of its maps, because of them becoming more rewarding in general with a better more sandbox system liek reward system, that doesn’t stop being rewarding anymore just after the first full exploration – to make somethign good like that gated behind an expansion, when the game has already other way better and more important reasons as main features that should give one plenty enough reasons already to go buy that expansion??
For me at least it would make absolutely no sense at all, because such a “bad” decision would be clearly a thing, that would make alot of players just only mad and rage about such thigns like “HoT becomes P2W” and such stuff about what people would get angry about then, if the game would become much more rewarding only for people who buy the expansion and not just simply for everyone.
Because making the game more rewarding and fun to play on everywhere would be compared to that just the right decision, as that decision will definetely have also the chance to lead to the poin,t that it might brign alot of inactive players to come back again, where kittening people off about treating HoT owners in any kind of way better, than Non-HoT owners most likely would result in just the 100% opposite thing in which way Anet would be just total stupid, if they really would want to follow that kind of game design of the “better player treatment-carrot for buying the expansions-method”
Nah, I am refusing to believe, that Anet would ever get so low to actually do something like that with HoT.
