I too would like to know what this “Qualify” thing is?

Got D/C at Ancient Karka while travelling to a WP because I was defeated.. Created a ticket the same day and have not recieved anything in my mail today.

Sounds fair to me.

I like how one can come here to see what a sucess story this would be…. ‘’Its raining percursors?’’ more likely…. because that question mark is what separates knowing you’ve been screwd of not knowing anything at all.
I’m on the ‘’not knowing’’ part, because i want to know whats the script criteria, we all get patch notes, and Anet explains what is changed when something new is implemented, why is this script not explained? We know there’s a script that ran to check logs… and i think is crearly that its was a mistake because someone that allready got reward has got again another reward. Why isn’t this clear as blue sky?

Please… let me understaind this, because now i’m just an angry costumer.

I spent as much of my weekend on the event as possible including 2.5hrs on the final event constantly watching around 50 people wipe to invisible crabs… I say as much cos at times the lag disconnects you. The events themselves were no fun and the only upside of the whole weekend was the amazing loot…. which I didnt get.

The solution to a horrible weekend give the people who did complete it double rewards hurrah! hell give people who wern’t even there the rewards.

Doesn’t everyone feel better now? a little warmer inside? o.O

So far I’ve had a bug with my story, bug with guilds, bug with chat, horrible lag in special events and crashes, and barely get any loot in game cos by the time I hear the drop rates great here it’s nerfed. Now people have maybe two items worth 2 years of playtime for me

Fair is to tell the truth and get deleted and prolly banned from forums later :P

I DC’d just before the boss was killed. Still got no mails. I’ll just update my support ticket sent just after the event, waiting for an answer.

I spend 2,5 hours killing stuff, ressing people, etc. At final stage I stayed a bit behind of the mass to ress someone, he ran off after I ressed him, and yay I got killed.
Ofcourse, nobody came to ress me.
I Wp-ed and tried to run to the chest, but got killed. Wp-ed and tried again, got killed again. Final try the chest was gone. No reward for me. Only thing I got was a huge repair bill and 3 hours of my time wasted.
I guess Im not qualified for reward.
Shame on you, Arenanet!

Can we please have an official GM say what the status is on the script and maybe even clarify the requirements for getting a chest.

Imho, seeing as there are people who attended, got multiple chest and this additional chest, as well as people who weren’t present at all and got the chest, they should simply give a chest per account and let’s be done with that. Maybe something went wrong with their requirements, but anyway, it is now kinda unfair for whoever didn’t get this chest.

I’m on Whiteside Ridge (EU). Didn’t get the chest, obviously.

I have to say I am disappointed in the lack of clear communication. I have faith in ANet to deliver the chest to everyone, as the current random spread seems too unfair to be the actual plan, and they clearly want to fix this.

Not communicating however is just angering fans and causing arguments within the community, and all it requires a single message that would take less than a minute to type.

I think it will be the only wise solution at this stage since we can say now that this script is an epic fail. For the record, yes I was at the final event for 3 hours, yes I got DC’d and yes I didn’t received the chest in my mail. On the other hand, it will be strange for me to quit a game that I really enjoyed so far. As for the lack of reaction of Anet, things must be pretty messed up there…

Still no chest either. Got booted last minute and managed to get back on. Couldnt get in an overflow server which hadnt downed the Karka to get the chest. Realy disappointed to be honest. People who werent even online, never taken part or even looted the chest have had mail. Anyone recieved there mail recently? Atleast if so we can establish the script is still running and mails are still going out. Would of made more sence to of just sent everyone a chest, atleast that way everyone got the loot once or twice rather than some.

Just got my chest. Have not opened it yet because my good or bad luck will not affect my happiness at seeing your company come through in good faith. Here’s hoping the many other issues still pending will get a fix soon too.

What A total disaster this event has been from start to finish, Only a few guys in guild got the chest and now alot are really tanked at the situation , and for a guild with over 500 members thats just not good.

Wake up Anet you have a mess of a pr job to do now, think its time for the big boss to get in here and have a look at his communities outrage over the handling of this whole fiasco from start to finish, and I think from everyone’s perspective Mike needs to say something on this and not leave it up to guys that don’t seam to have all the info, thats not fair on them or on us.

Still haven’t got mine either – Desolation. Would like someone official to confirm/deny rumors that the scrip is complete and if you dont have it already you’re not gonna get it?

I didn’t actually expect to get a chest since I completely missed the finale although I did attend the 1st and 2nd day, so I actually set my expectation really low and really surprised to see that I got the mail. didn’t get anything really worthwhile but i’m very happy with the bag and trinket already

most people I know that attended the event also got another chest, but I don’t really mind that. I’m not sure if anet trying to make a win-win solution for everyone or there’s some mistake on the script though

now I just wish there’s no longer this kind of stupid karka-like one-time event. It’s awesome when it’s pulled off like haloween. but this whole karka event is just epic fail. whoever the main designer is, really made a huge mistake

How exactly are they determining who did and didn’t do the event? If it’s by people who have bound any armor found in those chests I will be super pissed, because I bough a full set of Vatlaaw right after the event after the influx dropped their prices to around 50 silver each.

BTW, I DCd and reconnected to an overflow that killed the boss within a minute or 2 of me connecting, so I got no credit and the chest was invisible to me.

Or are you finished already, leaving a lot of players with nothing again.

Honestly, the ONLY reason I’m not seriously ticked off at how this has been handled, is the fact that this is a F2P game (after initial purchase).

That said, I’m still annoyed hearing about people who got the mail that weren’t even logged on for the event.

ANet’s script was obviously flawed. Best way to have handled this situation would have been to just send every active account at that time a mail with the box. Sure, some would get double rewarded (um, some already have as it is), and some who weren’t there would get rewarded for not doing anything (was a terrible lagfest/buggy event anyway).

What it comes down to is this: Good Faith.

Players warned ANet about One Time Events, they were told how it would negatively impact many of the player base. Yet, they still did it.

If I don’t get a chest, so be it. Again, I’m just really glad this is a F2P game and I wont worry about giving them another penny of my money.

They really should have just given it to everyone and avoided this monstrosity of failure. I received my reward ankittenotally fine not getting it again, but just based on logistics alone, it would have been better overall to just hand it out to everyone again then try to weed out who and who doesn’t get it. What a mess.

I got disconnected before the Ancient Karka was killed, but was unable to log back in before the chest was gone. I received the loot box in my mail yesterday afternoon even though I never submitted a ticket about it, so they must have some way of telling if you attended the event.
Hopefully everyone who missed out will get the reward like I did.

I disconnected when Ancient Karka was in cave and I guess just before the chest. However, I couldn’t login on Guild Wars 2 for like half an hour. So when I finally logged in the event was over and for me there was no chest neither XP and Karma… And still didn’t get the mail from ANet, tho I guess I will not get one.

Where is my reward?! Still no mail. But i was on event!

Spent 2.5 hours doing the Karka Event got kicked twice but managed to get back onto my overflow both times, as I was playing with my GF and just kept joining her when I got kicked. Played the event up to the Anceint Karka killed him and watched about half of the cinematic before getting kicked out of the game. Couldn’t log back in for over an hour after that. I got to watch my GF walk over to the chest and loot it but I was locked out of the game for over an hour and couldn’t get back in.

Funniest thing is I haven’t got the mail from Anet yet, so I guess I don’t qualify if the rumor’s of the script being finished are true. Since the Karka fiasco I’ve vowed to not by Gems again (was planning to spending £8.50 a month to help fund Anet but not anymore, I may in the distant future purchase some as a one off thing though). And I will be very wary of any future events.

This game promised a lot and delivered, but has in the past month alienated and angered a large portion of their player base and continues to do so, with nearly every patch they make.

Just hoping my server hasn’t completed the script yet.

you will never satisfy everyone. i, for one, thank you for the loot chest. i ran into a lot of bugs, lag, dc during the entire weekend event and never got the final loot so this gift was appreciated

Same story here in Piken Square, no chest received as of yet, just an official word would keep us all patient, cmon Anet, we won’t bite.

I don’t believe that they really looked at some logs or whatever. It seems that they just sent out chests to random people and nothing else. And if you had the luck that you could open the chest at the event and got a second one or if you didn’t even log in at that day and got one you can be happy now. I don’t want precursors because not everyone got one at the event. There was just a CHANCE for this. All I asked for was
to get the same CHANCE to get something nice and the bag. That’s a complete disaster, ANet and the fact that there is no official statement until yet proves that
they either know they did something wrong or don’t want to think about that anymore….

This turned out to be a huge mess.
In summary, right now there are 3 things that should not be happening, are happening:
1. People who participated, got reward, got another box in the mail. Double reward for these Chosen Ones?
2. People who never even logged on or participated in the event got a box in the mail. “Don’t know what this Karka thing is…but hey I got free stuff!”
3. People who participated, DC’d at the reward or missed out, still have no box in the mail. Sucks to be them, I hope they get their share.

Instead of this double lucky ones, undeserving ones, and unlucky ones thing…
Can’t Anet do a scan on each account for 20 slot karka bags? I severely doubt ppl just “destroy” those bags for laughs n giggles. So whoever has one of those gets 1 more box in the mail, whoever has none of those gets 2 boxes in the mail, and whoever has 2 gets nothing. At this point everyone will be at even level. Sure, people who never participated gets free stuff, but that has already happened anyway.

The only thing I don’t like is the fact that I really hoped everyone who lost their chests would have a chance to get it, despite other people getting more than one, but it hasn’t happened that way. Then to those guys, go ahead and start destroying their 20 slot bags. Anet isn’t going to say “ok here’s what we’re gonna do” and announce it before hand. Considering 20 slot bags are worth a few gold and people love them, would they want to destroy them for a chance that Anet would go through with some random poster’s idea? The way Anet does things, no one knows HOW they are determining it, so deleting ur 20 slot bags is a pretty big risk.

See, I had gotten over not getting anything from the event.

And then this happened, and friends/guildmates got mailed chests, and including people who had done the event not once, but twice (getting a total of 3 chests)

And then they decide to hand out new chests, and I still don’t get one lol. The wound had finally closed, and then was wrenched back open and had salt poured in.

It’s annoying.

No mail for me so far (EU Piken Square). Fell through the floor at the end of event and died in the lava, had no idea how to get out. Attempted to respawn at nearest waypoint but got a neverending loadingscreen.

Hopefully we’ll hear something more substantial than the automated response soon enough.

Awesome one time event, where everyone who gets participated gets rewarded!
