No mail from either.

I played that buggy/lagy event for about three hours before disconnecting and being unable to log back in to fight the final boss.

I’m really disappointed about this, not just because I wasn’t awarded for my work but because I was promised I would be. This is really hurting my trust with Anet which is a shame because I really enjoyed the game and what they do. I do hope that they do something to fix this fix but I’m feeling less and less hopeful.

Extremely disappointed at not receiving the karka event chest… My main toon got pulled into an overflow server and I took part as long as it was possible but the lag that caused everything to freeze for minutes in a row was too much. I ended up doing some fractals after spending loads of time trying to do the event

That Anet don’t bother about us who tried to take part but basically got kicked in the head by a badly planned event execution feels really bad. We also deserves the loot.

Hey man it lagged for everyone else, and everyone else stayed. STAYING and trying being the key. The chest is only for those who tried, and got disconnected at the end. Not an hour before hand not two hours before hand,. ect,. not people who gave up and went somewhere else.

This is for people who put in the full effort.

Not sure I agree with you… I did my best to take part and stayed in the event a quite long time considering that the game froze for minutes and in-between allowed me to play for like 30 secs before going to freeze mode again. Time after time. And now I hear that many gets a second chest rewards etc.

This is my 3rd post ever on the GW forum and I have over 800 hours on multiple toons, many lvl 80, so I am not much for qq and I do support Anet. But this makes me really sad!

See, I had gotten over not getting anything from the event.

And then this happened, and friends/guildmates got mailed chests, and including people who had done the event not once, but twice (getting a total of 3 chests)

And then they decide to hand out new chests, and I still don’t get one lol. The wound had finally closed, and then was wrenched back open and had salt poured in.

It’s annoying.

Since I wasn’t able to participate I was over the event drama as well since I really like the game. However, hearing that non-participants were rewarded, and participants were doubly rewarded; well that kind of chaps my hide and now I’m really irritated again.

Sounds like all of a sudden there are way more people that got disconnected now that they’ve heard of this great chest.

Just got an in-game mail from Anet with an Ancient Karka Chest. Thanks and Good job Anet on making good on it. Keep up the good work.

I was very lucky and got the precursor The Chosen from it as well!

But this is by far the the most idiotic thing ever.

3 friends who where not even at home during Karka event have gotten the chest in their mail.

I got diconnected and spend the next 2 hours trying to get back into this sorry excuse for a game am not qualified for the chest according to your customer support.

You are making it very hard for me to enjoy this game.

It’s sad, but… The only way to assure everybody would get that chest is reward every1 who was in that map in the time of the event, and I belive then, many, and many fakes would get the chest.

Then… We must live with it.

I was participating almost to the end and still I have got no mail. There is definetely something wrong on devs side. I would say ok, I will be patient, but when I see people that did not participate at all or people that got the chest during the event getting emails, am getting seriously pissed off.

I guess you had to attend the final fight against the ancient karka to be qualified. And even then it’s not 100% sure you will get the reward. >_>

How do you really know that people who already looted the chest got it? Or people who weren’t on at all that day? People lie about this stuff all the time. Like the people who claimed they looted 4 precursors or whatever from the chest the day of the event.

Same here. Got DCed on the second reinforcement phase and was unable to log back in for 2 hours. I didn’t receive it either.

Well I have just received a response from Chase @ the support team who, after telling me to empty my mailbox, that if I still didn’t receive anything, I don’t qualify. I haven’t received anything.

Here’s a screenshot of my ignominious death and eventual disconnection which I included in my support post. You can see there is also a party member with me who can vouch for my presence. But nope, I do not qualify apparently.

The whole affair has left a bad taste in my mouth after having played and loved GW1 for over 7 years.

Another thing I wanna know : I changed my home server last sunday (map completion in WvW ^^), and plan to get back to Vizunah tomorrow. Does this change count in any ways for the mail?

I actually have proof of this, one person that wasn’t online that day at all got one, another who was in my party during the event and got the end chest got the mail. Like i said earlier, this is really the worst possible way to handle this. It be better to just pass out the chest to everyone again then try to automate some sort of sorting criteria. Is it fair? No, but it’s even less fair to have to even deal with a single person that didn’t get the end reward and still not get the mail reward. The economy is kinda borked now anyway, mine as well flood it with more typically useless crap, maybe it might actually balance things out a bit better.

I devoted an entire day to that event. Still nothing.

Bravo, guys. The script for this was apparently garbage. One more disappointment to add to the very rapidly expanding list.

Still enjoy the game, but I’m becoming far more hesitant to actually recommend it to anyone.

So then some people should expect multiple responses, and some should expect no response.

I would really like to know what these supposed “requirements” are because I have one friend who participated all weekend, until the end, disconnected before the chest, and did not receive anything and another who didn’t participate in the finale (or even log in that say) who did receive compensation.

I just hope ArenaNet learns from this and finds better ways to resolve such issues in the future.

I have a guild mate who didn’t participate in Lost Shores in even the slightest way – got a chest.

And another that has gotten 3 total.

I’m thinking they should of just scanned their entire accounts DB and mailed one to every single account. Sure some people would of gotten multiple, but at least it would of been SLIGHTLY more fair.

1) Could you read what i write in my previous messages instead of giving pre-written answers?
2) The requirements or the system are faulty, because not only me but many other people who partecipated in the event did not receive the reward, is ArenaNet just going to decline every problem , giving even more chests to those who already got one and no one to those who attended the event but never got one because of server side problems?
3) Are you aware that this kind of attitude is being offensive towards me , your playerbase and our patience and loyalty

I think that my ticket quotes says it all, but i am adding that i am really sad seeing how the whole thing was handled.
20 days and those who got the chest or did not attend the event got another chest, while me ( after many hours of playing) got nothing but a pre-written form which says nothing , not even a " sorry".
I am being answered like a beggar, but i am not.

This is not about meeting requirements, this is about do the right thing, which is care about us, the playerbase, who attended the event, died at the end, infinite loading, couldn’t log black, found another overflow to play, bugged halfway, waited for 20 days, etc.
I know, this is the same story many of us share.

The most humiliating thing about all this story is to read : " You have not meet the requirements",go away.

I have been faithfully waited for many days because of the lags, disconnections etc, and this is how i am repayed?
Not even an : " Ops we may have made some errors, everyone who played the event will get their reward."
That would not have been my preferite answer after all this time.
But at least better then that robotic answer i got.

Can we please get at least 1 chest, and get some nice support ( an announcement, something), and i have an answer, or is this the end of the story?
I have been slapped once at the time of the event, now i am getting double slapped.

Look – I just don’t see why Anet cannot admit they kittened this up royally and just send the email out to everyone – at least with the bag, trinket and basic exotics, rather than precursors.

That wouldn’t mess up the economy, and would at least improve the mood of many of their customers. I’m a long-time fan and Anet apologist most of the time, but after not getting the email today, despite sending a bug report, doing the survey and recently sending a support ticket, am very annoyed, especially seeing examples of the ridiculous ‘your account does not qualify’ email posted on the forums.

These are virtual items for baby cat’s sake – there is absolutely no cost to the company involved here, so just do a blanket send and be done with it. People have had multiple goes at the chest, and apparently some people who looted the original event chest have received the email so I can’t see how this approach would make anything worse right now.

This is quite unfair I feel. Some people receive Karka chest in the mail, even though they attended the event, and actually opened and received their gifts already during the event.

Is it perhaps because the script confuses, some people who already opened the chest, and maybe they attended another overflow server, and that got counted too?

Does anyone else get another chest even though you have opened the original one?

At least it’s safe to say that we wont see any more one-time events after this. Well… since it’s Anet, maybe 60% sure we wont see any more one-time events.

They should have just sent every account the box with an apology for the whole horrible event.

I got disconnected during the event and all I got was this thread to read.

20 hours now. I am starting to run out of patience Anet. First of all, none of this would have happened if you had used your brain before launching the event (it does NOT take more than a little common sense to know that if you put AN ENTIRE SERVER in the same spot, things will go awry, yet Anet couldn’t figure this out.), second of all, not only do you not reward those who you set out to reward, but instead end up providing doubble reward to those who had the pure luck of not getting DCed after 3 hours, or those that did not even log in the entire weekend?! And we had to wait weeks for this?! Did you test it or anything, or just threw something together and hoped that it would work the first time you tried it?

Yes, I am tired of having to cut you slack and being reasonable when the result we get back is this, and I am out of patience for today. People have kept mentioning how you could have fixed this, people who DONT GET PAID TO THINK! We are, in theory, to assume the reason you are the devs and we are not is because you are more qualified for the job than we are, in that case, get your act together and prove it!

It’s such a pathetic sad mess, it makes me feel sympathy to the employees at ArenaNet. I’m sure they really meant well, but that whole thing from start to finish, and now the very late coming damage-control, such a sloppy horrible mess. Slapstick comedy of errors.

I didn’t even recieve an email, altho i didn’t send a ticket either. So those that didn’t send a ticket, don’t recieve an email, or any reward? My patience with this game is draining..

This whole thing is a load of a BS.

Players that already looted the chest are getting bags
Players that didnt even log in that weekend are getting bags
Some players that played different parts of the event but not the final are getting bags and some are not
Some players that played the final but d/c lagged out are getting bags and yet some are not

It honestly looks like what players get bags is A. completely random, or B. completely broken, or a mix of both.

You have created an even bigger SNAFU because now all players that didnt get bags for any reason can see examples of why they should get one!

Personally I didn’t get a bag. I organized a guild group for the opening event on Friday and it was so horribly laggy, bugged and broken that it completely turned me off to the rest of the event. I didnt log back in until Sunday trying to make the huge final event but I had missed it by an hour.

Now a guildie and RL friend that was part of my group on Friday for the very first part of the event got a bag sent to him yesterday. Like me he never logged back in until we both logged in together Sunday trying to make the final event. Yet now he gets a bag (good for him btw) yet myself and 2 other guildies from the original party havent gotten anything. The only thing different that happen to him vs the rest of us was that he d/ced once in Lions Arch during the first part of the event. Well apparently somehow this qualified him for the bag

Honestly I had gotten over missing the final event and the epic loot. I didnt like that I missed the chance at epic loot mainly because the first part was so horribly implemented that I didnt want to do the rest of it. It let a bad taste but I got over it.

Now weeks later I and countless others feel like we are getting burned again.

ArenaNet – Seriously with this epic fail u should just give everyone the freakin bag and be done with it and your ‘1 time only epic events’
