I am finding lately, after months of this hobbled return system, that my characters are almost steering toward emergent pacifist gameplay – where possible avoiding conflict altogether, and simply sight-seeing, due to the pointlessness of participating in events when the DR from repeatedly fighting the same mobs will kick in BEFORE you actually finish the event.
This particular aspect of the current DR almost boggles the mind. When the fundamental activity of most events is conflict with a certain type of mob, requiring the eradication of, at the very least, a certain amount of said mob, why in the name of all that is holy would you implement such a reward-hampering system?
The discouragement from the repetition of this system of receiving nothing of worth after ‘swinging your sword again’ should not be underestimated.
During the five odd years of this game’s development, and with their prior experience in DR system iteration from Guild Wars, is it really expected of us to believe that this is the best that they could come up with?
It’s a sorry day when the tenuous evidences of a conspiracy are far more reasonable than the supposed reality of an ineffectual team of developers.

As has been clearly stated in this interview (http://www.guildwars2junkies.com/tag/diminishing-returns/) ANet allows us to “farm” but what they mean by “farming” is totally different what the majority of playerbase considers it to be. Point is, that if anyone wants to farm X stuff it is basically not possible. First because quite large loot tables, second because 70% if those consist of trash (like Porous Bones) and third because you hit DR as soon as game decides you killed 1 too many mob in a single place/period of time.

Spot on its ridiculous why should I be so restricted in terms of farming for a specific mat? I don’t play the TP, I just want specific mats for outfitting my characters in a variety of ways and I can’t. The system appears to be implemented in such a way to drive the player towards buying gems.

It is sad to see but after 18 pages of commentary, not much seems to have improved. It remains to be seen if behind the scenes the devs actually care about what happens. We will see come the next patch next week. Perhaps they made a monumental error and just cannot bring themselves to admit to it.

Who knows, but I do know this, if this issue continues, GW2 will be losing a lot of players because of the problems of reward vs effort. There are other games coming out soon that will draw the players away and there are always the other games folks came from that can be revisited.

However, whatever happens, I know that I shall probably be one of those who looks elsewhere because I currently am not getting rewarded appropriately for my efforts. The only enjoyment I am currently experiencing is running with my guild mates just for the fun of it. None of us are purchasing gems or anything else since it does not seem to matter any way.

I really love this game and want it to succeed, but if something is not done to adjust this lopsidedness, things will get very, very empty in the world of Tyria.

I think it is safe to assume that DR was implemented to do more than tackle botting – i.e. manipulate TP/economy (see quotes from my post on page 17).

If this is corrent, then it is also safe to assume that it (DR) will never be removed. Furthermore, everyone seems to agree that since November 15th patch this issue escalated, whereas, it would seem, DR was implemented before that (see my post page 17).

Here is some more data from me – Ran Orr (lv80 zone) after not playing for several days. In the first hour I got 4 greens, 2 blues, several bags, few bones, and couple of porous bones. In the next hour things just went the haywire – over 20 porous bones, 1 green, 1 blue, 3 rag/cloth, and 4 crafting materials. I purpously ran in select few areas with high mob density. Clearly one cannot ‘farm’ in this game.

You have got to be kidding me: 1st time out to cursed shore with my thief, ran it from Mount Maelstrom to cursed shore, only stopping to do 3 separate events in Straights of Devastation. I was in Cursed Shore yesterday with my warrior for the 1st times in about a week, but was gathering so only killed a few undead.

So got to Cursed Shore, ran to pent, then shelter, killed a non-event undead at shelter, got 2 porous bones, did the pent event, and all I got out of the entire event was 1 (one) hardened leather strap.

You have got to be kidding me, DR after 3 separate events in a different zone, AND after killing only 1(one) non-event undead.

This is not perceived, 1 (one) drop the entire event is not perceived. This kitten makes me want to not play out of sheer frustration It is NOT fun, and it is no longer funny.

P.S. Thief is lvl80 so its not a level issue.

If the implementation of laurels are the sole ‘improvement’ that is being made in these upcoming patches in relation to open world reward, it is becoming rather hard to envisage any other scenario than a downward spiral over the course of 2013.
If Nexon’s focus on maintaining this incredibly poisonous, reductionist approach to such a long-standing franchise they have chosen to invest in does not make some serious adjustments, they will run themselves out of business frighteningly quickly in this fickle MMO world.
The sheer amount of choice that is in the market has created a very broad and accessible environment for players, and if one thing is becoming clearer by the day, it’s the evaporation of brand loyalty.
If a company treats their playerbase with such open, cynical disregard, no matter which arm of the company is responsible for the toxic decisions, people will make their opinion felt by simply up and leaving for greener pastures.
Be very careful how you tread, Crystin – I don’t imagine being the leader of the monetisation team that brought this franchise to a grinding halt would look too fancy on your CV…

Maybe because of yesterday’s patch, maybe because I did fractals couple of days ago or maybe because I gave a two day’s break, I actually got 4-5g worth of loot from fractals lvl 3 in an hour or so. One was an exotic worth 3.5g which I hadn’t seen in weeks. And I did this with my cursed character. I know some of you frequent fractals but if you havent recently, maybe give it a shot. Maybe it’ll unlock your DR as well.
Crossing fingers that I no longer have the curse. I will run few dungeons before returning to farming to see whether that’s the issue.

ok, since i’ve been hitting hard on anet with previous posts, i have to say that yesterday night all problem with loot seemd to be gone.
i played a couple of dungeon (cof) and a fractal lvl2, for the monthly achivement.
i tried farming only once an immediatly got bored so i’m nota farmer.
well yesterday i’ve been playing whith my gf n my side and from that fractals we both hada whole lot of cores cupple of lodestones cupple of yellowz.
well it should really be always like that!!
Now if you notice that i’ve hit lvl80 just around the infamous patch so before i never had an idea of end gam loot before and sine then i never even seen a lodestone till i started to think they are a kind of kimera, and i had TWO in one day, my gf the same,
two ldestones multiple cores an mor yellow than in a week (3!!!!)
now following the normal tshooting procedure, what changed in last two days? i’m not sure but i gues i noticed my client downloading something.. don’t you?
well what i percived was a loot rate just a bit under expectations, but please, we don’t seek perfection if it stays so gratz to anet u finally got it!
/sarcasm
but i gues this might be a potential economic terrorism act and for the sake of eveyone else wealth i deserve to be crucified in LA grand plaza for not destroying myself this obviously enormous loot!!
/sarcasm off
just joking (i hope) but if it was intended kee on rocking!

@bartem and oloap
Fractals were never a problem in terms of effort vs reward, same with dungeons (in most cases).

I did several DE’s yesterday including Melandru, Grenth, Plinx, Penni/Shelter, some escorts and for the whole evening I got MAYBE 1 gold worth of loot (including stuff I sold on TP).
There are days, however, when I easily make over 7g in less than 4 hours and that’s when I do DEs, fotm, AC.

My biggest gripe now is that botters and TP manipulators do just fine despite ANet efforts. Only normal players suffer. IMO there is a difference between effort vs reward system and time vs reward (and that’s what botters do).

Sometimes I feel like an idiot when I do Grenth or dungeon/fractal with pug and have to suffer just because my team mates are not as “efficient” as they should be. We finish the event or dungeon anyway after MUCH struggle and the only thing I get is this f… T-Shirt. I mean 3 blue items and worthless, soulbound crest from boss chest.
OK, so I farm DEs instead. Try hard, gather party, invest in food, MF, whatever is needed, basically do my job. Game decides I am a bot and gives me trash.

ANet please realise that bots do not care if they drop exotics or Porous Bones. If they are allowed to “play” long enough they make enough gold to make RL profit and afford new account if you happen to ban them. On top of that they (the botters/goldsellers) can control the market of precursors/legendaries/T6 mats (as shown in recent I LOVE YOU PM spam accross the forums). Not that I ever going to do that but if I wanted to spend RL money to buy precursor I bet all my gold I would buy it cheaper from goldsellers than ANet gemstore (gem exchange).

Goldsellers are virtually untouchable, milk is spilled already as they have enough gold stacked on safe accounts to simply play the TP and multiply their gold in “legit” way. You can’t track them, you can’t even track gold flow as there are few ways to safely transfer gold without you noticing. I could tell you how but I won’t contribute to any unfair activity.

To sum up. As much as I appreciate your job in fighting bots please allow us to normally play. I am sure the community will continue report bots and scammers as they already do. It is up to you to fine tune your anti-bot/DR code to not harm the playerbase.

FWIW, I did have major issues in dungeons as well, I would do 10 runs and would gather maybe 1 gold of total loot. I was pointing out what someone else said awhile back in this forum, that there’s a chance fractals may undo the DR bug or whatever that is. I am not suggesting this is the solution and we should close this forum. I hate the DR as much as the next guy and if the solution to botting comes at even the massive frustration of just 5% of the population, that should not be the solution. I want to have the confidence that if I farm in Orr, I will be treated equally with everyone else. Current system does punish certain players and we dont even know why we’re that subset at the moment. Easy fix is to remove the DR, do something else, rewrite it, … I don’t know.
I was merely suggesting that while anet is ignoring our plea that there’s something massively wrong in low lvl and high lvl drops, fractals might be the key to the problem of 5% of the 5%. I am not sure if it was my problem but hey I had no drops from dungeons/wvwvw/DEs for a long time and last two fractal runs were pretty good so sharing that.

From my experience it seems ANET has locked all players into strict DR unless they are running FOTM. The only chance I have at getting decent drops is in FOTM and all 3 of my level 80’s are in exotic magic find gear. I’ve also noticed magic find gear has NO effect on drops and the only time I see a surge in quality drops is when using an omnoberry bar and entering a new zone or right when I eat one.

I have also noticed they nerfed the ability to salvage ectos from rares especially if you craft them and salvage.

I just signed up for the beta for another game so hopefully I can leave this and have something to play where I don’t get punished for playing the game.

Is GW2 a game or a virtual casino?

This is my second mmo and the first one was wow, with tons of community issues. I just hated the players there. I liked this game a lot for that reason, I was even going to suggest people to support developers with real $ by buying stuff off T/P, sort of like a donation. Now, I feel the opposite. People want to provide data, Anet asked for it in extremely unclear ways, but it’s not working as there’s no communication. It’s very easy to see why frustrations build up, it’s like getting stuck in an airplane on the runway for 12 hours with no explanation. Maybe it’s less costly to lose us than try to fix the problem and we’re the lost cause.

This is not my first MMO but it is first one that is “F2P” in years. Well, except the very first MMO I played years ago I always gladly paid monthly fee. Point is, I can afford “donating” some sum of money to a company if it is stated clearly that for some services they provide me I have unrestricted access to all aspects of a game. Here I get the feeling that I am not obliged to support ANet but somehow indirectly forced to do it. Let’s be frank. There is no single item in Gem Store worth buying for casual player except Gems themselves and only because you can exchange them into gold.
Still, I do enjoy the game but sometimes I realise that I spend 90% of my gaming session mindlesly grinding same DE’s just to earn pocket change while there are other things I would rather do instead but am limited by lack of gold (levelling alts for example).

Spended several hours trying to get a vista over wvw, jumped to lake to clear quaggans.
I got 1 armored scale and a dye from krait, dye opened to a rare one (just 40s).
Later on i did hit 1 coyote,it summoned another before dying.
I got 1 large claw and 1 large fang.
I am afraid to hit something else,dr might kick back in.
Seriously,i am afraid to hit mobs because i had 4 barely decent drops.

Before patch rares gave ectos now i get ecto drop about every 10-15 rare i recycle.

before patch ectos were dropping at least every 4-5 rare i salvage.

More info: Took a lengthy break from playing, hoping DR would reset. Logged about 2 hours over last two days. Did more than 10 events, mostly in CS (entire Plinx chain, various other events around shelter/penitent). On a positive note, first time back, veterans and champs were dropping far more frequently. On a negative note, and why I won’t return to this game until this is addressed: 0 rares across something like 500 mobs (maybe more). 1 putrid essence, if that counts (it certainly doesn’t for me).

As a note, I moved around each time to at least 3 zones. I did receive some T6 mats, but mostly got porous bones. Hope you all fix this soon! See you when things change.

Just logged in yesterday to do my daily. In two hours I got 5 greens, 12 blues, fair few whites, about 15 bags, and 6-10 scraps for salvaging. Now one may think, not too bad…well the other half of my stuff was garbage/nothing.

Hows that statistics! Half of the mob kills resulted in nothing or garbage, and this was done on a zone I havent been to in ages – Harathi Hinterlands.

ANet stop kittening around – either fix this or admit it’s part of your TP manipulation scheme.

To be honest i totally agree, I remember the drop in gw1 was a way more balanced than in gw2, if u do a dungeon u could get 3-4 golds, and if u open the chests too with lockpicks u could get even more….in gw2 i drop 1-2 rares only in fractals and i got only 5 exotic drop since release!

I can understand a lot of you are getting frustrated but you have to realize that not everyone is affected by these bad drops. It seems some people have DR stuck on their accounts, I have no proof that this is the reason, but it seems like a possibility. Since not everyone is affected, it may be hard for anet to find the problem.

Couple questions:

do you group often? What are others in your group getting for loot?

Do you use MF? How much?

Do you get better loot in dungeon/fractal runs (serveral runs, not just two or three)?

I am just trying to help, I am not nor are any of my guild mates affected by the bad loot bug.

Medazolam, it was suggested earlier on that perhaps this “loot bug” might be account bound in some manner, but it is hard to tell. I certainly know that none of my characters get great drops. Once in a while I might get a yellow item off a regular mob, but rarely off anything else.

Ever since mid-November, I’ve not gotten ANY drops from champions, vets or bosses outside of the dungeons. Now I would like to understand why that is the case. I used to get drops whenever I defeated a champion, vet or boss, but not any longer.

I have tried using MF as well, but still nothing changes no matter what I have on my gear.

Personally, I do not group very often and usually it’s only briefly.

I was running about 45MF, before food boosts. Now all I’m running is 3MF. It never made a difference and I’ve since removed all my MF gear and have even salvaged some it.

I don’t typically run dungeons/fractals since I can “Play the way I want to play” and rarely have that kind of contiguous time to commit. The guild I’m in is essentially dead and only a couple people still play occasionally, but never together.

I’ve essentially given up on playing the game in any constructive fashion. I enter a map, run the perimeter, to find caves, then explore the center area and finally finish the hearts and jumping puzzles…once complete…next map. I don’t hang around, am not a farmer and rarely repeat events more than once. I have only 2 maps left in PvE, about 6 jumping puzzles, and the WvW maps. Once those are complete and I have world completion, if this issue is not resolved, I think I’ll be done.

Did the Claw of Jormag a couple times last week, since I was in the area anyway, and there were A LOT of people complaining about the quality of the drops on the world chat. I’ll probably do the Shatterer a couple times over the weekend since I’m there now, but suspects complaints will be much the same.

If they do, it’s much easier to be patient because you know they’ll fix it in the end. Right now I don’t even know if they acknowledge that there’s a problem at all.

I haven’t logged on in a week. I would usually be playing right now, but I’m simply burnt-out with the bugged DR since 11/15.

I’ve received fewer rares in the 2 months since 11/15 than in the 2 weeks I had at 80 prior to the 11/15 patch.

I’m a dungeon crawler, yet have received fewer lodestones over the entire course of my career in game than most people get in a few runs.

I don’t care if it’s bugged DR or a failure to put in adjustments to the drop algorithm to “smooth out” bad RNG streaks, but it needs fixing, and it should definitely be prioritized over the invented AOE issue.

There’s supposedly an AOE issue? As a necro with a staff as my primary weapon, and condition damage as my primary offensive skill, I fight almost exclusively with AOE and haven’t any any problems. Well, unlike a high level warrior, I’m not soloing a lot of champions, but I do alright. Can someone point to a link on information about this supposed problem?

I highly suggest grouping when doing events, can not stress that enough, if you are doing the events in Orr with lots of people there. I find I still get credit for kills solo, but a greatly reduced drop rate. If there are not a lot of people there than this isn’t really an issue. Only a problem if you need to ‘compete’ for kills.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Is-AoE-actually-a-problem-Discussion-Thread/first

The basic run down is that AoE is being used in areas where single target skills should be used so AoE is going to be modified so it less effective against single targets.

As for farming with AoE I don’t see this being an issue if you are in a group, solo only time will tell.

Back on topic: I completely cleared the Asuran 1-15 zone, got only 2 items I could upgrade to. For the entire area I did pick up only 5 items my class could use, but again I could only use 2 for upgrades. I seem to be “short” on loot as well, I didn’t even fill my inventory

Prior to the 11/15 patch, I could take a level 45 char into Sparkfly or any zone around 10 levels higher, and the Reward was so worth the risk of dieing. I could do the Risen attack village followed by Griffon quest (dont remember zone) and as long as I did enough damage, I would get tons of Rares because the game was designed to offer Reward for greater risks. However, back in the first month, rares only sold for merchant value, unlike now. And after all the bots / DR to help stop botting, drops for me = 1 yellow in maybe 3 – 4 days play time. Never have I seen an exotic, even tried running high Magic Find. Going to try again as soon as I can make enough money for a Masterwork MF set. Which may take another week of gameplay.

This will be a self fulfilling prophecy with the way the overall loot drop in GW2 is being handled presently.

It is a shame that Anet seems to not be concerned. My understanding is no commentary after so long = lack of concern.

Its funny, but SWTOR started to go downhill because of the horrible customer service experienced and the nurfing of talents/skills to the point a character was not stable. In GW2 it appears to be lack of care by Anet with issues that are being raised by the community.

Both seem to follow similar paths…soon nothing will work. When nothing in a game works as advertised, players depart to other games without even looking back. This is too bad because GW2 is a great game but lacking TLC.

Well, just finished clearing the silvari 1-15 area, good news is I picked up 8 items that my profession can use, bad news is only 3 of the items are useful upgrades.

Here is how my equipment looks at lvl21 all from drops:
head: lvl 12
shoulders: lvl 12
top: lvl 14
pants: lvl 14
gloves: lvl 8
shoes: lvl 14

scepter: lvl 11
focus: lvl 14
greatsword: lvl 19
Trident: lvl 20
Spear: lvl 20

My armour is in need of upgrades for me to survive level appropriate areas

I totally stopped depending on drops while leveling my alts. If I didn’t buy stuff from TP or craft it with my main all my alts would have gear more than 15 levls behind their actual level. It is virtually impossible to get proper gear from open world even if I just do hearts/story on my alts it seem to drop nothing ov value and I don’t mean gold just usual gear.

Besides it is stupid beyon belief to hit DR while doing single DE in Orr, right?

Bartas and wildcode, seriously guys I was having trouble getting good drops from lower level areas even pre-Nov 15th nerf (and lets be honest, it was a nerf, even though the patch notes will say it was a buff), but for armour all I did was save the cash and get armour from karma vendors as I went through.

It may not be the right stats for you, heck it might not even match, but it’ll get you safely (or more safe than lower level armour) to the next zone and not cost a heap in karma. I was scrooging the cash even back then because I thought it was ridiculously hard to make good coin as you were levelling.

Ok so you’re not gonna make GREAT coin, but you can at least have something to keep you afloat if you need it, which the game doesn’t seem to want to offer… not really back then, and definitely not now. I think I got a cursed account as well, or at least a cursed character.

I just killed 57 mobs without a single drop.

I have come to the conclusion that Arenanet does not wish me to play the game.

So I logged off.

I do not enjoy killing things for killing sake. It would be nice to get a drop now and again,

“Diminishing returns” means “diminishing gameplay” and also “diminishing players in the game” and “diminishing people you recommend the game to”.

I’m not sure if it’s diminishing returns, or just drop rates…
I have long since stopped killing the dragon champions: not worth it.
Dynamic events: not worth it. I’ll do them if they’re in my way or I need my daily.
Chests: not worth it. All blues and greens.
etc etc

Flame and Frost: Prelude

Pretty naturally, there is nothing about loot issues in the splash page for tomorrow’s update. No game that has PR people would allow that; I’m certain.

I assume that they will address the loot issues in the patch notes. Least preferably they will simply ninja loot fixes into the patch without comment.

I trust that they will address the issues one way or the other.

To that end, I am backing up my client in preparation for tomorrow’s patch. Once the patch is live, since the patch notes don’t always appear immediately, we should do our best to test the state of the loot, DR and even the MF systems both in open world and in instanced play.

We’ll see what the verdict is this coming week.

Aproposs, why are you backing up your client? Is this a necessary procedure that Anet just never mentioned?

I seriously doubt it’s necessary. But I always back up my client in case of unforeseen problems with patch/update downloads, corrupted files and the like.

If there are problems, I watch the forum for a resolution and then try the download again fresh (after making yet another backup for safety). This way I’ve always got an uncorrupted client to start with.

Edit: You can always start with a fresh new download of the client from scratch but that’s time consuming. However, that is the last resort.

Can someone point to a link on information about this supposed problem?

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Is-AoE-actually-a-problem-Discussion-Thread/first

The basic run down is that AoE is being used in areas where single target skills should be used so AoE is going to be modified so it less effective against single targets.

As for farming with AoE I don’t see this being an issue if you are in a group, solo only time will tell.

This will hamper my necro, who is already underpowered compared to a warrior. When more than 1/2 of your attacks ARE AOE, then of course you will use them against all mobs, single and group. I use them to lay on conditions against enemies so they take damage. While the skills are recharging, I will use DD damage attacks to add more damage. I cycle this method to keep conditions drawing damage while adding DD attacks. In the WvW example they keep eluding to in the other thread, this is good strategy, funnel all your enemies in to a choke point to put them at a disadvantage and use AOE to take them out. This is warriors who think they’re invincible whining about finding out other classes have strengths in certain situations. If a few warriors actually make it through the funnel then the casters are toast.

To tie it in to this topic, of course, there is a problem with nerfing AOE for a class that primarily uses AOE attacks. It’s known that the percentage of damage you cause to an enemy affects the probability of good drops. I will cause LESS DAMAGE in group events…meaning my drops will get even worse. It’s a really good way to alienate even more players since now you’ll have players who aren’t currently affected by the DR problem having drops reduced due to low damage. The whole thing is sickening.

Is it done on purpose that better loot drops for your profession drops on other profession types?like for example good heavy armor dropping more for scholars and vice versa?
I rarely get the good loot for my own profession and usually exchange the items with my friends ingame who play another profession type and get the “better” drops for my profession..
So I was wondering if this is done to encourage socializing or something

also I play very much and if i’m very lucky i can have like 2-4 rare drops on a day that are worth some silvers, exotics drop way less
Also magic find banner +foods to increase magic find don’t seem to increase item drop rate very much but rather gives few more blues, greens and better mats instead of all the junk and salvage thingies
But the biggest dissapointment to me regarding drop behavior is chestloot and boss drops 90% chances its like blue item(items if you are lucky) with a crest,..
sometimes killing a boss like for half an hour and only receiving like a silver and the stuff you get for event succes is really a sour experience.
This is probably also why people skip on bosses that take longer to kill and go for events that can be completed faster
Also most people try to loot chests out there and run for it when the mob gaurding it is distracted.Or even worse, when you are fighting to kill a boss to get to a chest they just ignore you while you are fighting for your life, loot the chest and run for it…
Maybe the event reward system should also be applied to chest looting..the more you participated the better your chances are to find some nicer thingies in the chest
This way players looting chest and running for it only get the blue item, but they deserve as much..
Or perhaps a desertion debuff decreasing the drop rates for such selfish players would be nice(becoming active if a player looted a bigger or grand chest and let other player die while fighting the boss to get to it)

The first and only time I’ve done Claw of Jormag so far I got one green, 2 blues, and junk (my main alt is level 80). Today I was running around Sparkfly Fen on my main, covering areas I haven’t been to yet. Killed 4 veteran mobs of various types; 3 dropped nothing, the 4th dropped 2 skulls. That was it.

Yea, something is borked here.

I’ve had horrible luck with drops. I have full MF gear, omnombars, guild banner, magic find consumable, and I get maybe 1 rare out of 2-3 hours of farming. I’ve also done the dragons plenty of times, and I think maybe one time I got a rare, and that was before November. I’m quitting this game anyway as I’m sure many others have and will quit. ANet is taking the completely wrong approach and after months of people complaining nothing has been done and nothing will probably be changed. I played GW1 for years and years and had a great time playing it, but this game is completely different and it’s not as fun as GW1. ANet’s answer to bots is DR but what these idiots don’t realize is that bots don’t even farm for loot like that because there are much more profitable ways of making money and destroying the game economy, for example teleport hacks and what not. There are tons of hacks out there for this game and instead of trying to patch up the issues they are punishing casual players and pretty much forcing you to no life just to have some gold. Let me give you a hint ANet since your dev team is too stupid to figure it out. You have issues with memory, that’s why people can teleport anywhere on the map they chose, they can noclip, speedhack, and all sorts of other things. So yeah instead of fixing the game properly they take the easy way out and implement DR in an attempt to curb bots, but that’s not even botters primary concern, instead legit and casual players are getting less drops, but as I stated before it doesn’t matter. I can create an alt, get him to level 2 complete a quest to get karma mining picks and then telehack to southsun and farm all the ori I want. In the end it makes no difference to me, I’m waiting for ESO to come out because ANet completely ruined this game and the gaming experience. I don’t know about you lot but it pisses me off that we have a 18 page thread about the horrible loot drops and nothing has been resolved. Sit back casuals, ANet doesn’t care about you, and if they say they do they are blatantly lieing. Sorry if my post is jumping from one place to another, I’m a little tired and kitten off.

PS
FIX THE INSECURE MEMORY ISSUES AND YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE SO MANY BOT PROBLEMS
Before anyone says I don’t know what I’m talking about, I have very good understand of how memory works [thanks for programming skills] and how programs allocate memory for usage, with GW2 the hacks tap into this memory pool and abuse it.

Well 2000posts and a couple of months later few answers fewer solutions, seems that Fractals are the New Game Enhancement moment for GW2

People posting whats your drop problem i get 6 rares a lvl10 fractal while people in Orr get one a month. The result of that feed back OMG people in fractals get drops nerf them.

Now on the eve of the 28th the new system arives.
There wont be any drops you run on your little wheel like a good hamster ( ie do the daily) get your token and eventually buy some thing.

Dont expect any replies dont expect any fixes this thread did its job to minimise the fall out till the new system was introduced now you have drip feed rewards for any thing else buy gems and convert them or do what most of my friends have done go play some thing else.

I couldn’t agree with you more and I think you speak for a lot of players. I have a fanboi that absolutely loves this game who created the guild I’m in now and he even raged about the loot nerfs and ecto salvage nerf yesterday.

I just don’t understand why Anet doesn’t realize that DR is going to chase off a huge number of players and leave them with mostly bots in their game.

I want to play a game I feel free in and that I don’t feel paranoid about how I play it. If paying a sub would fix the bot issue I would gladly do that.

Is GW2 a game or a virtual casino?

I agree with you here. Between game bugs, bots they refuse to properly fix, global nerfs they insist fix the bots, but everyone knows that’s not the case (All this achieved was to screw up the TP and crafting), the impending OAE nerf, which has the potential of making my necro even more ineffective as a solo player…it’s all very frustrating. I find myself complaining about the game more than playing it. I truly love this game and it’s kept my attention longer than anything since probably the original Diablo or Quake in the late 90’s, early 2000s, but absolutely HATE the direction it’s been heading.

I should actually go and sign up for the ESO beta while I’m thinking of it. I’ve never played a sub-based MMO, but I’m told it tends to suffer from less market manipulation and drops tend to be more fair for the content.
