Are the Oak-heart trees the only thing i can kill for plant achievement? I tried nightmare husk, nightmare hounds and things of that nature and it gives me nothing. Do i really have to kill 1000 giants, really anet, 1000 giants really?

It wouldn’t be much of an achievement if you only had to kill, say, 5…would it?

Unfortunately, yes. Nightmare Husks/Hounds etc. count towards Nightmare Court slayer.

I do wish that the new Vine Tendril enemies counted as Plant Slayer, honestly. I hate having to attack the peaceful Oakhearts to progress the title.

Plant wasn’t too difficult. The area where the champion(veteran now?) oakheart spawns in Queensdale is nice for that.

According to the wiki, these are the plants that count: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Treant

I think the vines are closely related to Mordremoth and thus should count towards “Blighted Bane” (if that existed…) to be consistent with the other dragon minion slayer achievements.

What made me wonder is that other actual plants (I forgot what they’re called but those hostile bushes by that grawl tribe) don’t count towards plant slayer. Or any other slayer achievement as far as I know.

5, no, but 100 would still be impressive considering there are only like 4-5 giants in the game that count for this chievo, and the easiest to farm seems the Naegling one which is a huge group event…

1.000 giants is stupid.

You can kill the trees in Arah path 4 during the priest of melandru, although it would probably be pretty tricky to lure the gorillas out of aggression range. The boss spawns the trees every 10-15 seconds.

Bloomhunger’s spirits in swamp fractal also count towards plant slayer. Giant slayer is indeed very long considering the only reliable way to get it is to farm a single group in a single event (broken golem in Brisbane)… but if you think its stupid I suggest you to have a look at the WvW achievement tab
And btw the next LS seems to have giants in it, which could make giant slayer easier

I wish Anet would count risen giants as part of the giant slayer achievement. The Naegling giant and the one in Harathi Hinterlands – Kol Skullsmasher are the only two I know of outside of dungeons.
There is also a skill point in Gendarran Fields that summons quite a few plants to be killed.
Here’s to hoping that we get a few more giants in the new LS episode.

There’s an event in Brisban that spawns multiple giants and they’re not champs. It even scales up with more people.

Giants may actually become easier in the near future. Watching the entanglement teaser, it looks like there may be some giants coming up in this living world!
