I apologise if this has been suggested before, the search function still seems borked to me.

Some of the ‘painterly’ cutscenes that have been produced for the Living Story have been pretty awesome – the Tower of Nightmares exploding, Scarlet’s Demise, the (now non working) cutscene from Marjory’s Journal, etc, and it seems a shame to never be able to see them again.

I think it would be neat if they could be viewable through the scrying pool in the Hall of Monuments, or through something similar in the Home Instance.

As well as this, it could record/allow to be re-viewed things like painterly scenes from the personal story (character creation, joining one’s order, Caithe’s description of Orr in Arah Story, the final scene after the final personal story quest, etc).

These cutscenes are lovely and it would let people re-view parts of their story as well as add a little value to the personal instance.

That’s a pretty cool idea, would make the EotN a bit more useful than it is in its current state

Can non-legacy characters use the scrying pool? I 100% agree with this idea. I think it’s one that much of the community is in support of. Ideally this should be located in the Hero Screen though under an LS tab or perhaps a ‘library’ in Durmand or the player’s home instance.

If you’re referring to the HoM in general, any player can access it. They just have to get the portal stone from this NPC http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scornheart

That is a brilliant idea. That should happen a long time from now though. Even if you were to watch past events, how many times would you actually do it? 2 times max per cutscene? I mean, I was ticked having to watch the end of this season’s cutscene and not having a “skip” option after the 3rd time. Youtube is a thing and it doesn’t take dev hours to do. I still really think the idea is cool as a way to implement these things in game, it’s just that ArenaNet has been really slow at implementing permanent content. I want new stuff, not rehashes of old things.

HoM and Priory Library are ideally suited to this idea, which has a lot of potential and merit.

+1.
I think this feature should as a separate tab on the hero-menu. I don’t really see the value of putting it into the HoM or a library (even though I usually support stuff being implemented in such an immersive way).
I just think this particular feature should be as simple as possible: both to implement and to use. Imagine if ANet had this thought from the beginning of an LS season; one and one cutscene, slowly being composed into an intriguing coherent “play all” story.

Regarding that thought: they really need to start adding narrative voice-overs to their cutscenes. For me, a player who didn’t participate in the Twilight Assault, that cutscene (though it’s really cinematic and stuffed with beautiful scenes) doesn’t tell me anything when I see it on YouTube 2 months down the line.

+1, but put it into the home instance – that one still needs love.
(I actually have my very own hall of monuments filled with GW1 goodies, but I recognize that non-GW1 veterans would appreciate this feature, too.)
