Soon on September 3rd will mark exactly 2 years since Super Adventure Box: Back to School was released. Just as well, on September 30th will mark 2 years since SAB was locked, making it inaccessible.
My Infinite Continue Coin has been dusting in the bank for all this time. How much longer it is acceptable to us wait to use an item sold on the gemstore which is now locked away and, by info from dev, will keep with that status for an unknown period?
Would be nice if this case was finally addressed by Anet.
I am sure none of us would be complaining about the infinite continue coin if was tagged as temporary use only during the season 2: Back to School, which wasn’t the case.
I think the big thing is that it’s just over a month until two years of ANet refusing to refund a completely useless item that people paid real world money for.
I’m a patient gal, but this is seriously starting to fray my nerves. I paid real cash monies for this coin. Now all it’s doing is wasting away in my bank. Other items bought from the gem store that were “infinite” can still be used (Queen’s Gauntlet ticket and the Airship Captain ticket are two examples I can think of). People who bought them still have access to areas that the rest of us don’t. Why do we – the Infinite Continue Coin purchasers – seemingly not have the same right? Did we not pay for them, after all?
I loved that content which is why I bought the coin in the first place. Either give us content or give us refunds. This is absolutely ludicrous and absolutely ridiculously bad PR.

I tried to contact customer support about this. First reply was long and full of useless information that took me offsite to read a response in an offsite AMA? Second reply I got was short curt reply and thought that would be the end of the issue. It is not. THIS IS WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE! Give people their gems back or come up with another solution. This is ridiculous that people are stuck with a 2 year old paperweight sitting in their bank or on an alt. A bonus of having to deal with customer support sass over the issue is not making the issue better. We get it, you’re tired of hearing about it because something was broken or the devs can’t roadmap it cause they are busy with the beta. Well guess what, we’re tired of waiting 2 years to get nothing in return but vague jerk arounds and no official answer from arena net about the issue.

SAB isn’t coming back and there never going to refund those coins they sold as Anet isn’t the saintly company some of you white knights make them out to be and sure there better than most of the others on many fronts but people have learned to never take a single thing they say as face value.
They broke SAB long before that. They broke it last year during Season 2 because of things they were already implementing for the expansion. They just weren’t ready to tell us about it, and since Josh Foreman is obviously “the guy” for making the expansion work, and is also “the guy” for SAB he wasn’t available to fix the things he broke. Irrelevant that it was certainly not him specifically who broke those things, nor would specifically be fixing them.
It has always been the expansion. They didn’t start working on the expansion when they announced it, they’d already been working on it for a while.
It isn’t about being a white knight. It’s about being reasonable and actually using logic to work things out rather than just ranting about things and then fitting them together the way you want to see them so they support your flawed argument.
Regardless of the white knights, or if people are ranting (with or without flawed arguments). The response from Anet in regards to those petitioning for a solid answer has been lacking in all departments. For most I feel it’s about seeing resolution to an issue which originally garnered Anet revenue that they are now actively ignoring and not providing a proper response for.
When it came to people ranting about the expansion purchase, the response was rather quick (because that was a larger dissenting voice affecting sales). One that I didn’t care for in any way, because I am intent on playing the expansion extra slot or not. However, this was an item that was supposed to have replay value from their self installed content and was sold in the gemstore. There has been no resolution except to those who probably trend high enough with spend to make one happen. It’s sad to see this issue not only dismissed but given a rather rude attitude when people (who spent money or not) merely would like the product to either work as intended or be given something other than dismissal from support and devs alike. We recognize we used it ONCE as it was intended. However, the intention was that we would be able to use it again before 2 years expired.
Resolutions or compromise, it’s not a new concept and when you run into 2 years of providing neither you can’t be surprised that people are either irritated or angry with a pinch of irrationality (we can’t lie, some people do go to far).
To add, I do still buy gems. Which means I actively support this company, but that doesn’t mean I (or anyone else) can’t speak out when we feel wronged.
People are starting to go back to school Maybe they should just refund the kitten coins… Even if its coming back, waiting potentially another year to get use of it is crazy.
50 pages, with multiple comments made by the devs, the latest outright stating that they need to change rather much issues in order to get it to work at all. Work that no company in their right mind would do while working on a major release.

And no, Reddit is not the Anet forums. So there has been no “devs” on the forum. There has been A dev (although I admit I only thought she posted once – 4 total, 2 of those with any value).
So yeah, 2 posts by the same Dev in the forums about the issue. As Gene Archer said before me, I guess that qualifies.
I’m now still waiting on a reply from support when I did not agree with their brush off. I don’t consider this matter closed. Sorry folks you need to do better!

Fixing something that’s broken isn’t the same as rebuilding something from scratch. I’ll grant that we don’t have a lot of information, only that physics is broken right now, but the world doesn’t need to be redesigned, the mobs don’t need to be redesigned. It’s only the functionality of those things that needs to be repaired. So, yes, it’s re-implementing it, fixing what’s broken, and preferable adding a new zone on top of it.
I don’t even understand the point of your other statement, short of starting a fight for no reason. What’s the largest thread in all of the forums? Pretty sure it’s this one. Large is not an objective descriptor anyway, it’s entirely subjective, therefore that statement can’t be disproven.
I don’t see how it’s a waste of resources to work on something they sold for real currency almost two years ago. I suppose everyone who pre-ordered the expansion would be fine with waiting two years on it, right? Since they have yet to announce a release date and all, I mean.

Got a senior GM to respond. It was simply, it’s coming back no refunds. I’m sorry but that doesn’t work. WHEN is it coming back? Are we talking 2015 or am I waiting until 2016 for you to finally pay attention on its third year anniversary of taking my money. Maybe that day they’ll announce they are still rebuilding it and enjoy another 2 year hiatus with that brick we introduced into your bank. This isn’t complaining about Baubles this is again complaing that Anet introduced an ingame item that we cannot use and haven’t been able to use. If it said I would only use it once and never again or 2+ years I would have passed on purchasing it. If you can’t ensure that content is going to return or have further use then don’t introduce it to the Gemstore. Compensation, replacements, or refunds, I don’t think people are being vague at all about what they want in return, Anet could learn from that.

Obviously this is not the only large thread about SAB, but I think it represents the community’s stance about the matter quite well, that’s why I choose to link this. I’m quite sure you know about the numerous SAB “events” since the last release both in-game and out game… considering all of this, I think it’s obvious a large portion of the playerbase wants SAB back , not to mention a large part of the current playerbase haven’t had the chance to try it out yet

I myself believe it’s a great feature in Gw2, very unique, that other MMOs do not have.

I would not be surprised if SAB never returned. I am sure they can always find something else that they would prefer to divert resources to than sab. The continue coin is still just a bad move on there part. They would not even be losing money, they could just refund gems. And we have gotten up to date info on sab recently, i mean it is up to you whether or not you believe it, but we did get new info. I honestly haven’t loaded into gw2 for a while now and i wish they would do anything cool so that i could reconnect with all my guildies.
I heard that someone in ANet got offended by criticism of SAB and decided to metaphorically speaking “take their ball and go home”. If so, we’ll never see it again.

Hertz, that is one of the most horrible things I have ever seen. “Don’t bring back this content because it’ll drop supply of the expensive skins I have” is NOT a good reason for them not to bring back content that many, many players enjoyed.
If you didn’t enjoy it then fine, if it’s re-implemented then don’t bother playing that content. But don’t kitten on someone else’s parade because of your greed.

This is why I don’y buy a lot of TP skins. I would rather play without a skin I want than feed some kitten hat their in-game lunch money.
It is fairly petty, because they will get another buyer regardless, but at least it sets my own mind at peace.

Can’t see anything happening earlier than April Fools 2016.
HoT release will keep them busy for at least 3 months, fixing and patching. SAB has always been a background project so even after that I doubt it would get high on the priority list.

Well it is a reminder of what people are missing out on, so I can completely understand. Personally I have no problem with them selling old SAB items, I want the world 2 boom box.

April fools 2016 would be fine with me, but i would also be surprised if we got SAB back that early. I think we are all forgetting about the real victims here though, the poor asuran children who aren’t being trained to fight mordremoth!
I feel like sab should be worth it money wise to make, there are lots of gem store items they can sell with it/make for it.
