It might be an easy assumption to say “It’s not here today (or it’s not been here in XXX days) therefore it’s never coming.” But that’s truly inaccurate. So an update seems worthwhile, just to remind forum members of our plans for the future.

Gaile, I appreciate you posting, but I really think you could be a little more understanding of your customers here. While it is great to be reassured that you’re reading this, something like this might be better:

“Hi everyone, I’m really sorry but we don’t have a time frame on the release still, but I assure you it is coming back. I realise this has been said before but I wanted to let everyone know that we haven’t forgotten you.

As for those who paid for the ICC, we are again really sorry but [insert whatever the heck justification there is for not giving refunds after this long regardless of whether it is coming back or not]."

At this point, I think it should be easy to realise that “It is coming” will come across as sort of hollow on it’s own, and “Your complaints about having to wait for three years having spent real world money on a product will be moot” is pretty disrespectful to paying customers.

Pretty much boycotted the gem store because of the continue coin debacle. You can call that moot if you want but I’m sure other players have been put off too. I can’t support the gem store after being sold a dud.

I actually have a constructive half-solution: since gliders are the fashion at the moment, add a SAB-themed glider and let people who bought an Infinite Continue Coin get it for free. It’s not remotely as good as getting the actual SAB back (oh, the pain of seeing “LFG SAB” [Sabetha] in lfg all the time) but it’s at least a positive gesture which acknowledges, rather than dismisses, the problem.

hey as long as anet doesnt let their marketing team release SAB paraphernalia again when SAB doesnt make it in for april 1st ill keep waiting in restrained, disappointed, and hopeful silence.

Untill there is no real date we didn’t learn anything new AND the conclusion is that i won’t come back…

No offense but telling customers that their complaints that a paid for service has been broken, not provided, for over two years is moot does not speak well of a company’s interest in providing good customer service.

I am so happy now! Not because I loved SAB… I thought it was fun, but… not totally captivating. A neat distraction and very cool change of pace.

But I’m REALLY happy that the SAB lovers will finally be happy again. And stop crying.

I would really like to know if it’s coming back as a permanent installment or if it will come back for a short time and be closed off for years to come yet again. I want this to remain open once brought back, but I suppose we won’t know about that until we get an official announcement.

Because Colin has never said anything that turned out to be incorrect later on? The justification always is that “plans change”, I will believe SAB is coming when it arrives because even I now have lost faith.

As for the coin, telling us that it is moot because it works with content that might be coming does not address the fact we have a currently useless coin. Retroactively add a quest like the gift box that gave us a glider. An SAB glider would give us something of worth for our money and likely stop us all complaining.

A good will gesture goes a long way in restoring confidence and good community relations.

You know people will be expecting sab on April 1st. They will, WE will, especially after these posts, there’s no deniying that.
If it does indeed come back, hurray! No need to worry, BUT if it doesn’t, like last year, please let us know.

And you already told us that, but April 1st is not like any othe day, I’d totally expect you to say you don’t have a date and then release it, it has happened twice already. But if it’s not going to happen don’t break our hearts again, just say it’s not coming around this soon and save us yet another disappointment, please.

According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.

I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.

I just wanna quote this because I think there’s a lot of people out there that missed this post. Colin made a reddit post stating the same thing last summer. Shaman data mines SAB sprites every few months, it’s still at least in some way, being worked on. But it’s quite obvious it’s not a main agenda thing…rule of thumb, if it’s April 1st and SAB isn’t out, it’s not coming this year.

In all likelyhood, Gaile’s post was to promote SAB to gear up for yet another April 1st gemstore update with SAB minis to generate money…nothing wrong with marketing…I can live with that.

But to throw my 2 cents in, again, telling people that their argument about the infinite coin is “moot” because they have a use for it “in the future” is the same kind of public relations mentality that killed WvW in this game. Bear in mind, I am one of the few that did think they got far more than their money’s worth out of this coin…so I’m a neutral party in that argument.

Well we don’t have any info to talk about, and I think most of us have just come to accept that we’ll either never get it back or it’ll be half a year or more at least before it comes back.

I really wish I could get a continue coin somehow, I spent so much gold/gems buying black lion chests when they brought back the super minis couple months ago. All I need is a continue coin so i can make Super Assassin mini…

Been wanting him for the longest time. Always have people telling me they wish they could send me a coin cause they have so many. But they are account bound so.. yeah the loooong wait continues. :/

So, a very intersting thought crossed my mind today:
SAB will return on April 1st. This will be the third anniversary of the initial release. Additionally, there was recently that hint that SAB will return. Then, Josh sounded a little bit suspiscious in a video he uploaded. Finally, that_shaman is unusually silent in the past few weeks. He didn’t post any data mining post for some weeks. I assume he doesn’t want to spoil the return.

If we remember the old April fools’, there was always an option to buy the content from the gem store afterwards. So, it might be that a permanent SAB access is obtainable afterwards. I would definitely pay 2000 gems for that.

Of course, this is just a post to get the hopes up and most likely we will be depressed (again) when we see the lame April fools’ joke.

April 1st is a Friday though so it’d have to be released 3 days before or 4 days after. I highly doubt they’d put it in have it unlock on the first. Also, they said a patch is coming the 22nd of March, so I doubt they’d do another one a week later. Though that could mean it comes with the patch on the first Tuesday of April (4/5/16)…

Funny I had the exact same thought.

The last few weeks, and last night especially something got me thinking about SAB and how great it would be to play it again. I still think it would be a perfect “festival” event if they bought it back each April.

Unfortunately it’s probably too late for them to do that now. Based on previous development times they’d have to have started working on it weeks ago to get it out for April and they probably have all their updates planned out well past that point.

But maybe something to think about for next year?

SAB will be back. No release schedule was given at the time that the infinite coins were available for sale. Two data points are hardly a trend so it being released in April of that year and then later in September isn’t relevant.

I personally have no problems with players getting refunds under one single condition. They are forever excluded from buying (or receiving as a gift) that item again.

There’s a difference. The gaming console is something that broke. It’s not something that’s available for a limited time.

Two and a half years being unreasonable is debatable. They had clear explanations for why it was not available and periodically kept us updated that it was still in the plans to continue releasing the remaining worlds.

It’s not spiteful. It’s to eliminate people from buying the coin, using it while SAB was active, and then asking for a refund later so they can purchase something else with the gems. When the next world is released, they can do the same thing again. They would essentially be getting use of the item for free. Anet has stated that new world will be released. If players are willing to re-buy the coin later then they can just be patient and wait.

Okay, I disagree with you on literally every point you made, but this doesn’t seem like a conversation worth engaging in so I’m going to leave it there.

Except that right now there really isn’t… don’t like raids, got your fill out of HoT, well sucks to be you. If you happened to like WvW, sucks to be you even more.

The fact is anything that is not PvP or raids at the moment… has very few things to do for people who have played for a long time. Sure, you can invent personal goals out of legendaries and stuff like that (where are the new legendaries again?), but if those were things you are interested in you’d already be working towards them they wouldn’t need to be pointed out to you.

There is a content drought right now, unless you happen to like a very particular kind of content. That, is an undeniable fact. It wouldn’t necessarily have to be SAB that addresses that, but at this time of the year people who liked it will reminisce about it.

I would love to see world 3 of the super adventure box. Ever since we got a preview of it when you finished world 2 I been excited for it. Maybe as an april fools surprise I think many people would be thrilled wink wink*.

They should just monetize SAB and sell a personal portal for 4,000 Gems. I would gladly pay for unlimited access.

I’ve basically stopped asking the question “When will SAB come back?”, and just wish to leave ANET with the knowledge that the answer to that question is the same as the answer to “When will I ever spend any amount of money on this game again?”

My bet(Hope) is SAB for this 1st of April.

I hope when it does return, it will ve permanent, to avoid all this happening again.
