1. Are you enjoying the atmosphere?
Yeah - it’s an nice group of people to hang out with and chat while playing the game. I don’t think I’m on the same server as any other Union member (Henge of Denravi - please correct if I’m wrong), so I’m looking into also joining other HoD guilds to have people to play with more.

2.It is what you hoped and does it keep to our ideals of helping others?
Yeah. I’ve gotten answers to questions and been able to answer other people’s questions. I’m leveling a cooking alt, mentioned it on guild chat and got ingredients to make dyes with (awesome) and sent back the dyes I made with them. That was really nice.

3.Did you also enjoy that you aren’t required for mandatory representation?
Absolutely. I play casually and just want to have fun. Mandatory representation is not something I’m interested in. Plus, that would really be bad because there aren’t many Unionites on my server and I’m interested in multi-guilding for that reason.

4.What drew you to this topic in the first place?
Was looking to find a friendly, low-stress guild.

Are we really seeing huge attrition with new people coming in and leaving because guild chat is quiet? Or are people finding that there aren’t many on their specific server, and switching to another guild for that reason? Maybe we need a per-server officer to address that. I think we’ll get better results if we identify specific issues and finetune.

@Glitch, I do web stuff for a living. If you need help setting up or running the site/server, I’d be happy to help.

Hi. I’ve been playing GW2 for a few months, and have played other MMOs and online games, but am shy every time about potentially starting to play with people I don’t know IRL.

Are you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project, Y/N?: Is it possible to join The Legion of Honour on a token character, just so that people can tell if I’m online and ping me if they need a person for something? I have reasons for wanting to keep the characters I regularly play in my main guild.

Yep I completely understand at this time because of the lack of guesting I have no quarrel with this sort of stuff and many people join other guilds for different reasons I never like to force people they don’t want to do!

Yes it’ll be fine to a character for your reason. The only ‘requirement’ is represent if with other Unionists, sounds fair right?

Hopefully with guesting this will kick up even more dust.

I’ve talked to some leaders about that and that was one of the reasons and that they were more of the hardcore type wanting lots of activity but I stated it was a casual helper guild.

Organisation is a slight problem. I myself thought we’d have guesting by now.
Hopefully my bro can get round to the website to organise this angry mob.

Yeah, that sounds completely fair.

Wintersday is the Tyrian Winter holiday. This year it apparently involves Asuran Santa in a blimp, as well as drawing more people into the racial capital cities.

As for suggestions, I think a guild calendar (who’s likely to be online when, some kind of scheduling for dungeons runs) and guild directory (who likes what content and will play with you, including crafting maybe?) would be good.

Charter of who is on what server. (Will require close management)

News section: Folks can discuss what is going on

General/Guild discussion section: Allows me to relay ideas to every or where people would disuss how Union should progress. (I’ll always discuss it with everyone before acting) Holding referendums etc.

Events Section w/ calendar: Organising Events for Union (Won’t be me, as it would only happen Fri-Sun;))

Quest Section: Where players can seek help from other members

Question Section: Q&A

Off Topic: For what nots

Anything else?

Also ideas on how I provide easy access to those with like activities? Like the Charter but with a activity heading underneath? I need some ideas for that to make it easy to read and manage.

Glitch, some food for thought:

Should there be a section for game discussion that may not be guild centric (or should this be separate from the guild section)? A place where people can discuss builds, strategies etc. There are some great mathematical models that should be built around this game….I can see Union being a great group from which to draw people to work on this.

I’ve also have some experience in another game where factions primarily use Skype channels to keep in touch out of game. This might be another option to consider, although a website is still needed.

As for the charter – it’s a good idea. Maybe a google doc spreadsheet would be the easiest way to manage it?

And I’ll try to get people in!

Hmm… Here’s a possible way to show activities: I’m thinking if everyone is organized in the charter by sever, if you show across the columns which activities that member is interested in, with checkmarks or whatnot. Crafters should list which crafting disciplines they are most interested in. That way, if a member is looking for someone to help them level, for example, they can look down the column at who has a checkmark in that column.

It’s probably not the best way, but it’s hard to have something that’s both easy to read AND easy to manage. I’ll definitely keep thinking, too, and let you know if I think of something better.

I’ve ran the Griffonrook Run JP in my undies. Trying to get the chest open with the bomb. Fallen so many times and those bloody birds….sometimes they would spontaneously attack me from afar lol.

I should have taken a pic lol…looked so funny getting the loot in undies ontop of a hill…I was KING OF THE WORLD!!! …lucky noone was nearby hehehe.

I did ac story yesterday with my friend, and JJC, and 2 pugs, one of which was real good.

At the lovers, I started on burn the kitten duty, and we downed her when vessar was near her. We just burned her down, ignoring him, and we one shot it.

I had a great time, so did my friend, and I think JJC also had fun.
Got no real good loots, since an hour later I dinged 40, and made me some nice level 40 armor.

Looking forward to many more of these nights.

Google docs has a form option which we could probably use for people to request an invite and provide some information about themselves (server, game preferences, etc). Hey Lexy, if you need another set of eyes/hands to help with Google stuff, I’d be happy to lend assistance. Unfortunately, my web programming skills haven’t been updated since about 2006. I am interested in theorycrafting and game economy monitoring, so it would be fun (to me) to have an in-guild place for those kinds of discussions.

Gah. I’d not joined a second guild in this game before, so went to the character I was going to bring over, stood down from current guild, left guild, and joined The Legion of Honour. And soon realised that I’d accidentally left my main guild on all characters. So panicked, and left this guild too. Which I didn’t mean to do.

hey Olli, so after reading all that I’m sure you’ve come to realise how awesome we are (obviously because you put your name down). a big welcome to you! I sent you an invite before leaving the game for the night

on a separate note: you know what I love about doing JPs to “reward” myself for failure, not only the fun of the JP itself, but the people you meet in them. met a nice guy there today, who we helped through it. turns out he’s been on quite a few dungeon runs, I told him I’d pester him if we need one extra anytime (or a guide lol)
