I switched over to Yak’s Bend last night so I might hang out on that server for a bit. Anyone can reach me through guild chat or whisper me if you need any help if you’re not in the Legion (yet :P). Characters: Silen Tium and Som Nium, my new thief! <3

Hey Glitch this was never about power it was always about Union – we were thrilled when Lokishi just up and server jumped after chatting to us in game for a while. We have no expectations, if he wants to stay that would be great but if Gunnar’s Hold doesn’t feel like home we totally understand. We were just made up to have a third.

Also, cross server party chat is fun – you don’t have to be on the same server to be in the same party for chat. So Glitch, expect a call soon…

I guess I should start off with a question: Have you guys noticed any sort of trends in your own servers that differ from others, in terms of player behavior?
As far as Yak’s Bend goes, from what I observed players almost never use the say function unless their new or there’s a bunch of them grouped together in Lion’s Arch. You can see frequent communication through the global map chat, but most of it is composed solely of acronyms, some of which I’ve never seen before. My experience on this server has overall been rather lonely, and I’m considering switching to a different one if there’s another server with a more involved base.

I think most people don’t use /say in general because of the short range. Even in a party I go out of /say range (not that it matters since obviously I use /party in a party but still). To talk to someone in /say you’ve really both got to be quite still, or going to the same places the same time and the same way. Though it’s handy to refer to people in your vicinity, of course.

Active: that’s a tricky one! When i have time, i love spending it in Tyria but… hectic workshedule, a loving but time consuming family (lovely wife and 2 kids ages 2 and 6 so you do the maths) and friends seem to keep me away at this moment from the game. So let’s hope it gets better (a few days off work would be great!) and you’ll see me more online.

We’d love to have more fellow UNIONists on Gunnar’s Hold, but I just wanted to make sure that people contemplating a move know that it is primarily an EU server. It might make a difference to your decision to move – although at the moment you can still move back for free so there’d be no harm in trying it out.

Hmm…EU or NA i dont think that really matters much to me. I am trying to find some fun and excited people to play with. FC is quiet when im on and like i said the main tie for being there…..well anyway. Im willing to give it a try. As you said the transfer is free for the moment so whats the harm. . Maybe an EU server will have more people on when i am. (fingers crossed)

@ Sasha I’m sorry to hear that. I seem to have heard that from others at FC. It seems the server have lost its spark?

Like bri has said GH is a really great server but I’m not sure with your game times that it might be suitable as you might not see the other members of GH company.
AG is also an EU server.

Just take those into consideration. As always don’t give up!

Oh by no means do i assume that going from an NA server to an EU server will find me more people to play along side with. For all i know i could just need a more active NA server (not sure of one). I do know my “play time” during the week will be an issue no matter which server i choose. FC seems to get active just about 830-9pm right as im going to bed to prepare for work (i imagine this to be true of any NA server with school, work, families, what-not to take into account). If i chose EU it seem i would be on during the tail end of their peak times. Though IMO even getting a few hours to be with active people and the chance to make friends seems to be a more enjoyable of a choice then running around with the groups of what i assume are bots, since they never talk, that run rampant when i am able to play. (not trying to make this one of “those” posts, just an observation)

I guess all i am trying to put out there is NA or EU it doesn’t matter much if i can find some to enjoy this wonderful game with. FC just seems so quiet or dead or dying or something. Its just not as active as i would wish it to be. I guess I am just looking for a server to call home with some good people to call friends.

I understand that you have taken these into consideration. If you do go to an EU server. GH is excellent. For an American server how about Sanctum of Ral ? /(Rol?) I have some buddies saying that it’s a really friendly server.

@Glitch Thank you very much for the info. I may just try Sanctum when i get home. I mean as Lexy stated the transfer is free for the moment i would guess there is no harm in trying. I have also seen someone started a FC post, so it seems i am not the only one who has found it to be in not quite the best shape as far as community goes. That aside trying a new server couldn’t hurt anymore than running maps in silence. Only way to find out is try right?

@Noppy I moved, but I kept my guild from Crystal Desert. I can still talk to them (mostly what I did anyways) and I can group with them for Dungeons. Only problem is I cannot use the guild bank. Still, I know it not the end of the world to change servers.

Guess what I am trying to say is . . . You don’t have to drop your guild to change servers. In fact it would be better to keep your guild, when you are just testing the waters of a new server. Look forward to seeing yo in game.

I understand what you’re saying, but thing is, i have no real connection with my current guild. I haven’t played much with them, they are mostly silent in guildchat (even after a warm “hey everybody! how you’re all doing?” from myself) and basicly, it wont be a lose if i quit them all together.
But…. as you say, i can just keep them on the list, and talk a bit when they want to

So gonna tell them about the move, and then off to GH
