Hey, don’t forget about Warrior man :<
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Rampage-Lich
Sadly… I feel like Warriors got the weirdest all-around traitspread though…
Also, poor Rangers
Oh sorry I didn’t mean to exclude the all powerful Warrior class.
What’s this Ranger you speak of?
The only people who say ranger is op are the ones complaining about rapid fire :p… but seriously in almost every case (I’m not sure why I even read them anymore but I still do) it’s usually rapid fire and nothing else. The only other op ability thread I’ve seen was our underwater 3 heal lol.
What’s this Ranger you speak of?
According to old lore, the Rangers were attuned to nature, friends with fell beasts and communers of the spirits of nature. They were masters of survival, capable of swift combat, alongside their favoured animal companion.
Some Rangers found joy in using nature to make traps for survival, while others meditated to the spirits of Nature.
Sadly, a the Rangers that were now masters of creating traps were quickly overwhelmed by adventurers who discovered means to avoid these traps, or curing themselves from whatever ill the traps did.
The Ranger brethern, now masters of the spirits of Nature heard of the loss, and found themselves to fortify their defenses. However, the spirits grew restless, for it seemed that a greater entity robbed them of their potency. Now, these Rangers are no longer as strong as a community as they were before. While both talents were practiced, neither of the two were strong enough to hold their own.
A newfound power within their Longbow gave the Rangers some hope. Chased by an angry mob, they learned to use their survivalist skills to survive a number of ordeals. But it seemed, that even with this new strength and defense, the Rangers quickly fell into obscurity, only rumoured within passing stories of fell hunters mercilessly hunting their oppressors down when given the chance. Whether these stories are true remains to be seen, and the Rangers themselves have become nothing more than an urban legend.
I loved every piece of that last post! Haha
According to the old lore, mesmers communed with the lord of time while staring into a mirror, therefore making them time lords. Throughout the ages, they’ve excersized their powers to the fullest extent until recently. They grew bored with their ability to dominate at will, so they allowed the mortals to believe they could be beat. That is until a few days ago. Then they decided to stick it to everyone with much energy.
Ima think of a really cool one for guard. Kek.
In another yr, they’ll buff Rapid Fire again.

Wow! What a profound fairytale. And what ever happened to these mystical beings you call Rangers in current Tyrian day?!
Is this similar?
“When Final Fantasy XIV came out the first time in 2010 it was, quite simply, a mess. Broken, often ugly and mostly unplayable; it felt half finished”
“I did not like it. Other critics did not like it. Most importantly, the players did not like it. It was not a good game”.
“The only it had going for was its beautiful graphics, with no progression or innovation”
Solutions: These 2 things need to happen to save Guild Wars 2
1. “Then Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada said in a 2011 press conference that the game had damaged the Final Fantasy brand. He was right, and because of the fallout from the game’s failure arguably led to him leaving Square Enix earlier this year”.
2. “Square Enix agreed. After spending more than a year attempting to fix the existing game, the developer opted for a fresh start. Final Fantasy XIV closed down in late 2012. In August of this year, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn sprang to life”.
“The “sprang” bit is important. The first Final Fantasy XIV lurched to life, shambling forward uncertainly, bogged down by unwieldy game mechanics and obscured beneath a cloud of unnecessary complexity. The game wasn’t quite sure what it was supposed to be, and that lack of direction was keenly felt by everyone involved in the early days of ….".

This just instantly became my new fav topic of the day!
Wow! What a profound fairytale. And what ever happened to these mystical beings you call Rangers in current Tyrian day?!
In modern Tyria, the rumours of the hunters of the wild have spread. Some new adventurers even find themselves picking up a longbow and accompany themselves with a loyal brown bear, but in time it is said their enthusiasm disappates, as they discover the craftmanship of other professions for their adventures.
It is said that the mythical Rangers of old either hide, try to survive or seek refuge within communities where people lend their hands in order for them to seek shelter. The latter were assumed to usually pick up the way of advanced warfare, more than often releasing their loyal beastly companions for more sofisticated crafts. Those who try to survive were said to be the fierce lurking hunters ambushing adventurers, but it is said that they do not prevail for long, leaving less and less of the Rangers of old.
As for the rumours about the ones who hide; it is said that it is divided within two groups, where one has left the battlefield to grow old within the wild together with their companion – while the other group lurks deep away within the wilds, practicing their arts, for one day they will claim vengeance on those who stood to oppose them.
How much of these rumours are true is unknown, but a there is a prophecy amongst humans, called the “Circle of Viability”. The prophecy describes the end of one adventurers profession within the circle, only to switch out with another from outside. Some people claim that we have not seen the end of days for the Rangers, and that the prophecy will once more come to them, while others remain sceptical and say that their time has come to an end.
Anet:Also Rangers are OP with crusader.

You need to make a story called the Circle of Viability for the PvP forums 0_0
+1 informative thread.
Well… I would not say “everything ruining the game”.
I’d rather say “too many things are postponing legitimate enjoyment of the game for too many people”.
That sounds more accurate.

This title definitely made me LOL.
I mean really isnt this like saying, The Game is ruining The Game?
Honestly, When looking at this all subjectively it is surprising that all the Dev’s don’t put in for vacation requests whenever a patch of this magnitude and size is released.
If you just go read each forum that has anything to do with combat, its an complaint ridden, chaotic mess. Don’t get me wrong some things need to be fixed, whats funny is they know what they are and have stated it. Anyhow the whole thing is a bit more relaxing when looked at in this comical sense.
Taunt is bugged :p. NOTHING should hit through invulns. But yea got me there haha. Still think it’s a waste of time complaint though.

WHAT THE KITTEN?! I’m now questioning everything Brandon has told us in reference to Ranger Lore. He conveniently left out the part where pets are VORACIOUSLY taunting everyone and ruining of the game!!
This title definitely made me LOL.

Maaaannnnnnn and now you’ve made me lose the game. I’ve been winning for more than a year now
It’s a good list, honestly i’d start with broken stuff:
Engi: grenadier trait – Banned from ESL- there is an entire discussion here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Grenade-Barrage-Bug/page/3#post5229374
Mesmer: Blinding Dissipation – You got blind basically always, it goes through evades too. It needs to be fixed
Ranger: Beastly Warden – Taunt goes thorugh evades/inv. It needs to be fixed
Condi damage: it’s really too high, probably anet should lower the general formula.
This stuff needs to have priority.
So just glancing through the forums:
Ele op
engy op
thief op
mesmer op
necro op
guard op
warrior op
ranger still sucks.
Well, not much has changed.
It’s cool at least some diversity! Till now all you had is thief op, nerf it!!! Now all the class op
if( topic.match(/op|over\s*powered|strong/) and profession == ‘ranger’) {
return null;
}
im a successful soloq ranger, how can I help you guys?
I really enjoy fighting zerker rampage warriors because it’s fun and rewarding to accurately time my cd’s before counter-spiking and ending him. it makes me feel good.
I also enjoy fighting the new mesmers, it’s a fair fight. their shatters hurt, but it hurts less if you watch them and time your cd’s accurately.
I don’t enjoy fighting engies because theyre rallybait right now, too ez.
I think new bunker necros are pretty cool, it’s something new. theyre okay. most of them run plague, and offensive power necros who run lich are mostly just rallybait now.
I also sometimes enjoy fighting the new burn guardians because then I actually have to use my eyes and time my cleanses properly, before stunlocking and killing him.
I don’t enjoy fighting the new cele ele because burning is broken on a spec that can spam it while facerolling to 25 stacks of might. cele eles are stupid.

FFIV is a game for PVE carebears. this is a pvp forum. GW2 is good at that too. its combat system is also dated and kitten y, so its pvp is silly.
I need Brandon to come explain himself and why he left out this important current information on Ranger pets ruining the game.

You wouldn’t last 10 seconds in Ravana Extreme. The trinity is dated, but FFXIV has mastered it to a degree WoW never has.
Also imagine 7 of your friends and you getting completely rekt listening to this

Dude says the game for PVE carebears. You link a PvE video to show what? That point and click is hard? If you’re trying to prove that a game that took a second launch to not completely suck is better than what GW2 is now, then you’re going to have to lay down a stronger case.

Why, you asked about the Rangers no, and not their beastly companions – so obviously I told you what I know.
If anything, the fact that adventurers talk about the beasts rather than the Rangers is telling of how true my stories are
There’s people complaining about necro ? Really ? Since when this anet forsaken profession did any good ? We eat kitten all patch.
Everything should be toned down, or “shaved” like you were saying back in the days.
Range-r , why should i used height advantage while maintaining tactical positioning? it doesnt make any sense, right?

PvE or PvP, nothing Guild Wars 2 has can challenge a raider in FFXIV. There’s a datacenter wide MMR Season based Arena rotation coming fairly soon, although I will admit people are too busy with the mountains of other content to commit to PvP at the moment.
I really don’t have to prove anything the people leaving this game and saying they’re glad they left GW2 do it for me. I’ve met at least 15 people just on Exodus that feel that way about GW2. If it isn’t how easy the PvE is, or how slow Anet makes content, it’s how incompetent the Skills and Balance team is.
If you did any research about FFXIV other than the 2nd launch and a subscription price tag you would see that the only real competition we have at this point is WoW and even WoW players are leaving for FFXIV. GW2 has been out longer and makes less per quarter than FFXIV already and that will only continue after the masterpiece that is Heavensward.
GW2 is a pawn shop MMO for instant gratification players. The PvP just got broken to all hell with the Power Creep Patch, Anet still doesn’t make any instanced content, and they’ve taken much longer to put together a smaller expansion than Heavensward. The size and very likely the amount of content in the new area in HoT is the size of one of the 6 new zones in HW, and they made the Jobs more well rounded balance-wise, making PvP a lot more interesting.
FFXIV is just better. At everything.

really? im pretty sure all of us are here because we love the combat system, not some point and click bullkitten mechanic from 15 years ago.
