After reading all of this just want to add on a couple of things. The fact that SoR (only server I have seen post from) is complaining about JQ’s numbers and coverage is sad. You say we PvDoor, is that our fault? If you guys had the numbers you would do aswell. All you guys are doing is complaining at times where we have the advantage. For the people say SoR has better NA primetime, at the end of the day it doesnt matter who has beter NA primtetime if you cant hold at oceanic time. To win WvW you need coverage, there is no doubt about it. So complaining about it is dumb lol. Instead of complaining please just go fix your coverage then show us that you are better.

Easier said than done especially now that transfers aren’t free. I recall that JQ complained plenty over the past months when SoS had superior coverage (I’m originally from SBI so I’ve had months of interaction with JQ). The best that any server can do right now against JQ is prove their worth during times where coverage is equal.

really? do you actually fight anyone during this time? How boring must it be to rush from door to door with little to no resistance and cap all 4 maps. What do you do after that? sit around spawns waiting for one or two players to pop their heads out? or stare at the map admiring all the green dots?

GL to SoR in the upcoming weeks, unless you recruit a few more guilds to cover your obvious lack in certain timezones you will never win T1. SoS will slip a few tiers to go up against other servers that are hopefully more evenly matched.

T1 is a joke right now, and a +615 PPT proves it.

The SoS/JQ/BG/SBI threads were usually fairly civil. Honestly I am surprised Anet even hosts WvW forums. It has to be costing them resources moderating every thread constantly.

Similar issues as well, SoR claimed dominance of NA and a few guilds they had, and BG would get all tender and claim they don’t need better NA because they have better coverage. Sounds exactly like what this thread turned into. I personally like the banter back and fourth cause its drives more people into WvW to get the revenge on that certain guild.

lol…agreed….having the best coverage is a definite advantage. Unfortunately the SoS of old seems to be no more and now is suffering from a lack of coverage. This, to me, seems to be the real issue. If SoS was a strong as they were, say 4 to 6 weeks ago, then the advantage JQ has in regards to coverage would have been mitigated to a large extend, which would have lead to closer scores for JQ, SoS and SoR – despite SoR not having as much coverage.

Now, as a side-note.

There’s been a lot of whining about coverage, and while the coverage differences remain, there always will be. Blaming the problem on JQ is the easy way out, and in fact is completely misleading. Yes, JQ has the best coverage right now. SoS used to have the best coverage and had the same complaints from the other servers. Complaining about it doesn’t help the problem, all it does is get everyone worked up about it.

IMHO its completely reasonable to justify losing due to coverage issues. What I find unreasonable is that people then go on to use this justification to suggest that the players (and guilds) on JQ are somehow inferior as a result, when plainly they are not.

If you feel the need to justify why you are losing – by all means, blame it on coverage and leave it at that. What gets everyone else riled up, is that unsubstantiated crap that tends to come after those statements. i.e. there were 150 of you, and 10 of us and we wiped you for hours on end (we all know culling exists and that its difficult, if not impossible, to get accurate numbers in combat – there are exceptions to this – guild vs guild organised fights etc). Posts like these are all too common. Personally, I don’t mind the ‘Great fight on JQ BL at Hills last night, we wiped JQ/SoS/SoR for 2 hours on end while they tried to take it!’ – we all play the game because its fun and exciting and when things really work well, we should be able to celebrate them.

Okay, here goes… for the third time… let’s see if thos post gets deleted as well…

To those of you out there evryday fighting in T1, we love you. Actual fights in game are awesome. If you feel it is absolutely necessary to come here and provide reasons why you lose a fight, fine. But it’s more fun to actually go and play the game, win lose or draw.

Lets all put big people pants on and remember that score and Tier rank doesn’t mean anything. Taking on 5 enemies by yourself and killing them all is what’s important. Sniping dolyaks is important. Shooting a Balista up someone’s natural exit is important.

If you play WvW for the score, you will always be disappointed (unless you’re on JQ, or have a time machine and are on SoS). Score ain’t no thang.

I can remember one of the best times I had was running 10 straight breakout events while JQ had a 50 PPT the first week the breakouts came. 13 players took the tower after 3 tries with both SoS and BG trying to stop us. It took SoS 30 minutes to get the tower back by trebbing from Bay.

We lost that week pretty handily, but we all had fun doing it. Maybe is SoS had server wide TS, they could find more joy in losing than they have so far. JQ was the eternal loser for 2 months and I think that’s the time we all got to be friends and bond.

Fun is the people you play with and against, bot a meaningless score that everyone will forget in the next month. The end.

My observation is that SOS is suffering from tiredness and a lack of motivation and probably needs to drop to T2 to regain some motivation.

I tend to agree with parts of this latest Guild wars fan post. The coverage issues are just part of the game. Blaming or defaming other servers is pointless and while some find the forum drama fun, I personally feel it drives others from these games.

FoE and AGG are both in the process of moving to Blackgate.
SoS was our home but in recent weeks they have simply given up and the militia have vanished/bandwaggoned. We found ourselves trying to hold 2-3 maps between 2 guilds and pugs, with other guilds cowering away from the fight. People like tsym having 4 of 65 online people in WvW wanting to take week off after week off if we aint winning, and other guilds more interested in Fractals than fighting for 2nd place.
This was starting to snowball and was not healthy for either of our guilds who are both active competitive pvp guilds, and after several weeks of server meetings we decided its simply time to move on.
Will we have a better chance of being #1 with Blackgate? Probably not unless they get Oceanic/SEA transfers, but what we will get is a server who actually want to fight and never give up which is all our guilds want.
We wish Sea of Sorrows the best and we leave sad that the server went this way.

I say this as a JQ citizen. If you guys are bailing to another server, don’t leave the guild ND on a sinking SOS. They are too good to fall out of T1. Remember that SoS recruited them, so if the server is giving up on WvW, atleast let them know so they can find a new home on SoR or Blackgate, or maybe even TC, though I think they should stay in T1.

FoE and Agg are bandwagon guilds that can’t bear the thought of not being in tier one. They think their guilds stand a better chance at staying in tier one than they do on SoS, that’s why they are leaving. The server isn’t dieing, it’s two bandwagon guilds leaving (they bandwagoned to SoS, it was a matter of time before they left it), not a dead server. Tier one isn’t going to be a three way competition until the numbers even out, that’s just how it is. The server didn’t get weaker, they just didn’t get all the transfers that JQ, and to a lesser extent, SoR and other servers got.

I’m guessing Agg and FoE are hoping their bandwagoning off of the server will snowball with other guilds on the server and force SoS into tier two. That will cause their new server, conveniently the strongest tier two server, to move up to tier one.

As far as you speaking as a JQ citizen about ND needing to stay in tier one (I like ND and I’m glad I get to play with them), a lot of people on both SoS and SoR don’t consider tier one very competitive. I know it’s not fun beating up on an out-manned opponent, but that’s what happens when you can fill maps with transfers and the other servers can’t. I honestly believe every server would get better competition in tier two where the numbers (at least between first and second) will be more even. My experience with ND is that they play around Oceanic/SEA times and thus even in tier one, they have plenty of support from the native SoS population and don’t have to fight JQ zergs that greatly outnumber them (which is the case for many other times of the day) but tier two has Kaineng. During ND’s time in WvW, Kaineng is probably the best server to compete against. Their Oceanic and SEA presence is probably the only one that rivals SoS (and many guilds on Kaineng are formerly tier one) so if SoS were to drop to tier two, I strongly suspect the best fights for ND would be in tier two. Kaineng doesn’t look to be leaving tier two any time soon (not unless they get more coverage judging from their match with BG) so the Oceanic/SEA scores between the two servers will be a lot of fun to watch (hopefully). If ND did transfer off, they’d be missing out. This is all assuming SoS drops to tier two

At least one thing good game out of this. Agg and FoE are paying our “subscription” fees this month. Hopefully BG doesn’t start losing in the future, otherwise ArenaNet’s coffers might see another boost.

Wait, so FoE and AGG are bandwagon guilds that can’t stand not to be in T1? This sounds rather odd coming from JQ who collected that exact description server wide. My guess is, had they chose to go to JQ when all the others bandwagoned there, they would be described slightly different?

Kaineng’s troubles in T2 aren’t coverage, they vastly outnumber BG during Oceanic but can’t seem to push BG to spawn camp armed only with a handful of feisty commanderless pugs

Both The JQ citizen and the SoS citizen were agreeing that ND is a very good guild. the SoS citizen was making a case for why ND shouldnt leave: i.e. they are not a bandwagon guild, and would find better fights in there timeslot if they stayed with SoS. In his defence how is it any different from people chest beating about dominating the entire map when we all know there is little opposition?

Personally I’m not phased by the scoreboard at all, when we are losing to superior numbers I just roam and search for the smaller fights. Zerging is boring imo

Well, a few minutes ago, there was a band of SoR flipping the north camp on SoS BL. We three kept a “there is nothing to see here, move along” profile. And we were deemed insignificant. The things you have to do to get that Vista in the north.

Well, a few minutes ago, there was a band of SoR flipping the north camp on SoS BL. We three kept a “there is nothing to see here, move along” profile. And we were deemed insignificant. The things you have to do to get that Vista in the north.

I don’t bother people obviously getting skill points/vistas. If they are doing that, they aren’t crapping on the things you love. I was wiped by a zerg of 25+ BG once trying to get that north vista on their BL. Alone on my level 15 necro. lmao.

Sometimes I think I’m reading 2 different threads, then I realize peoples perspective of things gets skewed with emotion. I’ve honestly seen 1 guy troll this thread, the rest of the posts not so much, some chest thumping and so on.

Great fights all around, its been nice seeing as many open field fights as we’ve had this week so far. To the persons post above that kind of a graph thing, whatever it is, use a ven diagram, their far more confusing, but more appealing to look at.
