i’ve been on SoS since day 1, and this is the first real match up we’ve had. Most previous matches were complete steamrolls (both ways) or PVDoor for oceanic times. This is our first real test and while we may be still learning the level of commitment required to be serious wvwers, I am proud SoS hasnt rolled over and given up despite the bad halloween event timing.

These fights are long term and you cant keep it up 100% every day, so thanks to all the SoS for keeping trying and to SoR for giving us some determined competition.

All of us who fought against you from Maguuma and Dragonbrand last week predicted that there would be a schism between your NA and Oceanic presence that would slowly devolve into mudslinging and ultimately a server split. While we would like to enjoy some schadenfreude watching this play out over the next week, for the sake of every server’s WvW balance, please don’t act like PRX did in their post a few pages back. We don’t want to encourage another server split that is just going to jumble up the rankings yet again.

If SoS doesn’t win and stays close does that mean we go to T2 anyways? I don’t know if SoR or SoS is ready to go up against IoJ. Blackgate gets a week to farm blueprints and I’m glad they are out of T2 but I’m assuming IoJ is pretty strong all the way around.

Since DB lost most of its WvW folks I’ve been server hopping a bit. I was on IOJ for a few days last week and I was impressed but, really I don’t see how they are significantly better than what I’ve experienced w/ SOR this week. SOR has a scrappy bunch of players who don’t seem to get discouraged when things don’t go their way.

After moving from DB to SOR, I have definitely found my home. Before anyone says anything about my leaving DB, it had nothing to do with winning or losing. I could not deal with the bickering that went on there, and the total organizational breakdown that happened after the server reset on Friday night. I have not encountered anything of that sort on SOR, and every Commander I have had the honor to work with has been a pleasure. Commanders actually work together to achieve common goals. There are no powermongers that I have witnessed to date at SOR. It is a very pleasant community.

You can keep up 100% presence every day, if you have a little gold and bored tier 2 players. Right SoR? :P

Let’s get something straight. The people who have transferred to SoR over the past few weeks are not top tier guilds. They’re great, but you make it sound as if we got Titan Alliance. They’re very much the same as the rest of the guilds we already had, enough so that the server doesn’t even feel different.

What people fail to grasp is that SoR is not that great at WvW. But we are determined. Determined to fight, determined to win, and determined to get better, always. To my knowledge, by the way, we have ONE Oceanic guild, a Taiwanese guild, if I recall. They are not that large, either. What you fight during Oceanic primetime is the dedicated, determined NA players and our isolated Oceanic presence. We want to win, so we are here to fight anytime there’s a fight to be had.

Anytime we need more people, we can go into Lion’s Arch and Orr and call for help, and help will come. Not always is it enough, but last night for instance, we were outnumbered 2:1, and we went to appeal for aid. We had a grand increase in numbers and were able to slow the tide of SoS pouring across our lands, though not stop them completely for a couple more hours.

This server loves WvW and we are all there to help with the battle.

Also, this hacking crap. Stop it please. Everyone’s hacking, tired of it too, no one to blame here, ANet is doing its best and dang they drop the banhammer fast. Just report and move on. Hacking QQ, from my perspective, is literally less welcome on the forums than outright flaming, it’s old and a terrible excuse, since every server has hackers. Don’t spoil the name of one server because of some deadbeats.

It’s been a fun matchup. Lets also give credit where credit is due – SoR kicked kitten after the Hell-of-a-pain patch and deserve to be in the lead. For me (as a SoS MERC) its been a lot of fun and enjoyable to see the improvement in guild communications etc.

Sure, there have been some annoying things (as everyone on every server gets). Not point QQing over that tho. I’d much rather focus on how much fun it has been in comparison to last week especially – last week I could jump into the back of a Mag zerg and kill 4 or 5 of them before having to run away, this week, I jump into the back of a SoR ‘zerg’ and I’m lucky to hit 1 person before being ganked! Huge skill level difference and very very welcome.

Well being Oceanic, it took us a lot longer to get back into the game when the patch was released. When we finally got in, we saw all our gains killed by Anet’s lack of foresight, so we mostly went and did the Halloween event.

Now if Anet had thought this through, and had frozen WvW for 15-30 mins, I doubt SoR would have been able to come back without tranfers.

I was also in EB and saw SoS (PRX) make all of EB blue within 1 or 2 hours after the patch reset and were spawn camping SoR and CD. I did read the “I guess the only thing to do now is get candy corn” messages in Map chat, but I took it as a joke… I guess others (a lot of others) didn’t see it the same way?

NA in SoS seems nonexistent. PRX is doing a splendid job. If only HuG and FoE would stay in SoS bl like they agreed to do.

Even with a queue for SoS it still feels like Rall has alot more people then we do. Its crazy!

Ok so Pre launch the talk was that SoS was going to be an Oceanic server i choose not to jump on this band wangon and went to SoR insted.

The effect of this is SoS has a Heavly populated Time due to alot of the sever being from the same time Zone (give or take a few Hours). Also we know our download speed is not as quick down this end of the world could you not have forseen things like the patch happening?

Those numbers are incredibly out of context. We got our transfers a few days before that match even started, and Yak’s was doing very well against us in the first 24 hours. Our people knocked themselves out and were asleep all day Friday. We woke up Saturday, we fought them on equal numbers during primetime, we won, and their morale broke. That is the effect of morale, not transfers.

We have only one, maybe a second I don’t know about, Oceanic guild on our entire server. And again, when this match started, numbers were equal. I don’t know what’s going on SoS side to cause this. Maybe an older player base(work and school and whatnot), which seems unlikely since almost all the guilds I’ve seen on SoR require an age of 18, or maybe morale broke for no reason, since you guys have been trading blow for blow with us all week so far.

On an unrelated note, I’d like to apologize to SoS about the orb at EH. We believe this wasn’t the result of a hack, but of a new bug with enemy NPCs spawning on top of the orb. I’ve seen this bug myself, but usually, the fight ends up being NPC to NPC, not them hitting the altar. In any case, we quickly got in touch with an SoS leader to negotiate a trade off. He simply stated that he would rather just try to take DB and put the orb there, so we accepted this offer and fought them the best we could, but they did manage to take DB. The orb was not defended and we let them take it from the north altar.

This still leaves SoS in a bad situation, since they can’t defend DB as well as EH, and the whole thing leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Hope they fix these orb issues soon.

With the exception of last night, CRS and friends has been able to hold most of SoS BL during oceanic prime with the outmanned buff.

Suka and Kyle just move around the map capping points and running from the SoS zerg, they do an amazing job leading and constantly pushing.

I do have to give props to MERC for last night tho, you surrounded us and pushed us right back to our waypoint and never let us out again last night. Well done!

Slowly as this land grew in population as it started climbing up the World vs World rankings. Tons of brave men and women joined in without guilds and quickly learned the ropes of what we call a Rallican. Oh they where fine soldiers indeed, After several decades of having great wars Sanctum of Rall had finally made it to the t3 league. During that time and Unable to see the future a big guild by the name GSCH made a grave mistake! They invited the evil alliance that was formed by a guild named TW into our land. Do not get me wrong this alliance had some good come from it, Guilds that knew what was going on and didnt try to take the world over.

However, The one EVIL guild named TW (Timber Wolves or something) attempted to steal this servers glory. The darkside had fallen upon SoR as they called all guilds into their team speak to have a meeting. Guilds small and big attended this meeting as they tried to convert them into following everything they did. The TW’s said that they are the almighty guild from Jades Quarry and they seen the future of Rall. They could see that the world was going to become the next big thing. After hours of conversation TW stopped begging and all of the guilds that made Sanctum of Rall what it was agreed that they would let TW lead them in war.

Thus the first war with TW begun and several guilds merged into the Crystal Desert Borderlands with the Timber Wolves to infact start taking over two different castles. These are mighty castles that only the finest of men can hold. Closes to our town home we took over the castle known as dreaming bay. Quickly daboss of timberwolves said “let us take THE GARRISON” With no other part of this world explored or controlled several of the noble guilds could not understand why this soldier was leading generals, However they trusted the man as we at sanctum of rall do not think that such a top guild leader would have no idea what he was doing. As leaders followed this soldier they fought a very long and tough battle, Eventually leading us into taking the garrison over. With the garrison ours we never had the chance to gain the ultra powerful orb of doom. Those dirty Sea of Sorrowerians had gotten what was rightfully ours and had no problem rubbing it into our face.

Days which would seem to be hours in SoR’s WvW had passed and the garrison and bay where still controlled by Rall, However we had started to lose towers and camps that gave us food and materials to continue building defense. The next thing you know those dirty little SoS men are coming for our keep with a force that was half of the almighty Ralls numbers. Help! Help! the smaller guilds had cried to the leader Daboss as everything around our keep had been taken over. “Ignore the keep” Daboss said, “The garrison is the only thing that matters” So a small force of 20 stayed to defend the first keep Rall had took. A long and hard battle those 20 men had fought before all dying the most gruesome death one can image. SoS had taken over 3/4ths of the world that they should have been wiped out on. With many men looking on the maps SoS called for friends from numerous worlds " All their bases belong to us" they said. So 1000’s of sorrowians came swarming from all angles. “No worries we have the garrison” Daboss said “It is the only thing that matters right now” So for hours the glorious rall fought defending the garrison like it was their only hope for another win. Within seconds the entire SoS zerg destroyed every hope and dream that Sanctum Of Rall had that night. Completely taken off the map.

Only few men can still recall truth of that night and how it happen, While others inside of this evil would blame the guilds that could only get 3-4 men inside of the world because of over population. Let it be known far and wide, The Timber Wolves are lying thieves who only join servers to falsely lead them into their doom and recruit their players because their main home did not want them anymore. While this story is nothing but facts the evil will send their force to down vote it and trash this scripture so that no other man will see it!

Also Sanctum Of Rall the following days had to work twice as hard, The thieves and hackers that joined from TW brought much shame to our world and we do apologize to SoS and CD for all the trouble that has been caused. We dont want the guys on our server but are having a hard time getting them off. If the alliance joins together maybe we can convince other players who have not seen the evil to stay away but SoR you must rise to get these guys out of here.

TL;DR Good server gets a bad guild (TW Timber Wolves) that wanted to take all credit for us winning. That bad guild almost cost them the war. "

Crystal Desert Seems having trouble Taking Back their Garrison and got Wiped multiple times.

They Start Hacking Our ORB in Shadaran Hills. First, Crystal Desert Defender[HAX] Manage to Destroy our Altar. We Fixed it and Put it back. Then after 5-10minute He Destroy the Altar again and Manage to Glitch and Reset the orb. Meanwhile, We have to Go back to Shadaran Hills because SoS is attacking south and they Finally Took Their Garrison. Just a WoW! If they cant take it, they hack it

so its 8:30 PST, how did SOS get the orb out of Hills keep? It was here at 7:45. and the inner keep has not been breached? Not going to use the word we all think about when this happens, but maybe they can explain it for everyone else.

I think the representatives from PRX are being a bit surly towards their server mates.

Peetee: MERC here. Was a lot of fun last night being tested in SoS BL fending off the two major CRS and ND led assaults. We didn’t have numbers the day before post patch but we were ready last night.

Were you part of the CRS zerg that breached Bay outer that was skirmishing with us inside Bay? Because that was some crazy stuff and took us a while to get rid of them all. Those guys were really coordinated.

I think that was probably the most fun MERC has had for a while going up against two CRS and ND zergs at the same time and holding. I had a team chasing them all over the map and it was amazing seeing how quick you guys got around.

D) Hackers/exploits.. Sea of Sorrows HATE when this happens, and yes even to the point where they will simply not play. Why? Because pretty much every single match we have had our orbs hacked.

You don’t hate having your orb hacked to the point that you don’t play. Look at Crystal Desert after you did that to us on the weekend. This would have been the 3 way battle you wanted if you hadn’t forced us to move our orb to SoR Border garrison while it was wood walls. You only had to do it once to convince us to abstain for the week. WE hate having orbs hacked, you just steamroll the map the next day regardless.

CD borderlands. Longview. Wall glitch.

Quite inconsiderate of them, considering they denied their fellow teammates who were taking down the front wall, credit for the tower capture by glitching through the sidewall and flipping it.

At this point, I hope ANet investigates this game(As in the WvW game) and try to find out exactly what is going on.

It’d be more fun, if I wasn’t being pulled through walls, enemies didn’t always have Swiftness, and Mesmers would stop with the wall tele kitten.

Actually it does exactly that.

SoS has the high PPT during oceanic(post primetime) while SoR has it during pre-primetime/Primetime.

And if everything wasn’t upgraded overnight un-contested, SoS wouldn’t have the daytime PPT either. It just takes SoR the whole day to wittle down all the upgrades and fully supplied keeps/towers.

Which is why I said it. Besides Fri/Sat. Mon/Tues/Wed SoR has 3 BLs with no queue those 3 with 20-30 people running around in it.

Interesting match regardless.

The known guilds that are hacking are Devs/Pink Monkeys/Hax. Look around the forum you’ll see they are hoping server to server hacking orbs, it’s not just our match.

Why bother doing it? And if they are known to be doing such things, why is it taking ANet so long to do anything about it?

ANet is most likely trying to do batch banning when it comes to exploits. If they banned people as soon as they found out they hack then people could discern what particular programs or even versions of programs and such are being caught. By being a bit slower about it they actually make it harder for people to hack the game undetected.

If they just banned every member of a guild when the tag was scene hacking an orb then the people that enjoy hopping servers to wreck orbs would most likely split to different guilds and hack the orbs without telling their guild that they were doing it. If they could get your entire guild punished because they convinced you they were a legit player interested in joining you they would get immense satisfaction from it.

So all in all it’s a tricky game preventing people from ruining WvW and the game in general. Same way they don’t tell us exactly how the infractions on the forum work- they don’t want to let people brag about how they are skirting the edge right where they don’t get banned.

It’s Really fun fight with SoS sever players.
Yesterday,after I back home, there were full blue point on the map.

And everywhere can see SoS recon unit, we have to move very very very fast to avoid SoS main troops. Force them split up to hunt us.

It’s really tired, but fun!

Gotta go with Kurthos on this one, I’m fairly certain the only reason it seems SoR NA > SoS NA is because for a 1.5-2 day period right as the work week started and the Halloween event got started the SoS NA had to cap back stuff from literally < 50ppt. Because I’m definitely sure that during the weekend EB and the majority of each BL was nothing but Blue points during NA prime.

To the thief I had the pleasure of killing, and the one who committed suicide, I’d really love to know how you got into Dreadfall Bay, a fortified keep with no downed walls/gates.

NA SoS have more than held their own, and from what I’ve seen they’ve been superior to the NA SoR.

There has been some fierce fighting over this match up, every day over 24 hours.

Let me clear this up, our guild HAX do not condone any hacking act whatsoever. There are some guild members jumped server to get POI and VISTA in contested area in our own world. That is all. The guild name itself stands for Hollow Ataraxia Malaysia, and that does not mean we are using any hax or haxxor ourself. Hope this will clear any accusation and prejudice towards our guild. We are small guild from Malaysia, friends among friends mostly going to wvw during the weekends only.

The posted image for the accusation does not show much of the hacking act. We would like to view more of this said proof. Thank you very much.

That makes absolutely no sense seeing as SoR during NA primetimes has held 300+ PPT all but one day in this match. The ONLY time you guys get us is during oceanics. Like right now for instance. But literally just a few hours ago we had 300+ PPT. Yet right now we have outmanned in all but one BL.

You realize we had an advantage on you starting at NA prime time right? Its not even Oceanic prime yet.

It is absolute prime Oceanic time right now, Kurthos.

The time SoS falls is the deadzone between Oceanic and US time. SoR seem to have a large presence then, and everything falls very quickly.

My mistake, but I can confirm that the ball started rolling during NA Prime. The Oceanics handed the non existent Euro prime 600 points at 5 AM PST 10/24. Around 1 PM PST we were at 150~ PPT. We were at 400+ PPT before the end of NA Prime, before patch. Now we’re at 620 PPT at 1:49 AM PST.

I’d like to know what you consider NA primetime. Because around 10 EST is when numbers start to fall. People gotta work in the morning.

I really don’t understand why we’re arguing over this. We ARE Sea of Sorrows, one server. Why does it matter who held the most points during our differing timezones? Oceanics work just as hard as NA, and NA just as hard as oceanics. Stop bickering, or at least stop airing our dirty laundry to the world.
