Northern Shiverpeaks Night Crew
Os Guild
(edited by Rob.7624)
A guild should not be called hardcore that runs only in 10+. Thats not hardcore, thats just a guild Zerg bird song. Stop giving props to people undeserving.
Dude. I know what I see. And I’ve got the field time to back that up.
Pretending that War Machine are not an excellent organisation of force is absurd. To suggest otherwise would be ridiculous and demeaning to the shiverpeaks.
Its always frustrating fighting servers who clearly outclass us and should not be in our tier but there is no need to bicker with Them and Myself. I’ll see you out on the map The zerg should provide enough time to get your PAXA guys to flip and gank

One point that would make WvW matches more interesting:
Server that ends the match
1rst pos. should automatically get in upper thier
2nd pos stays in actual tier
3rd pos drop a tier.
That would prevent from fighting a server during 2-3 weeks in a row, as NSP are with Anvil Rock this week, and many times before.
That would prevent players from getting bored.

Pew pew.
Sorry I’m just shooting down you idea in flames.
The server from the tier above would most certainly own the map like Kaineng is now.
If Borlis or Devonas moves down to tier6 next week we will most likely lose to them.

Dhampyr,
We’re not running 5 mans to be carebears. We play for kills. Im not gonna lose a fight and just say, “yay good fight, so happy for everyone” when our objective is to kill what’s red.
Bird,
We are on different wave lengths brother. You command your “hour long banging on the same keep door” armies. We will do our thing. The WM Zergs we have fought hve just simply been numbers and numbers of people. No skill in numbers.
MaximeP said it perfect, Zergs are just for lazy, skill less players who hide behind numbers and ride the wave. We don’t like free waves. Have fun bangin on wood.
PAXA:
Speaking as a player who much prefers running in smaller groups to a big zerg, I’d like to quote a post from another thread that didn’t get nearly enough attention.
Dear Anet,
Rock is OP and needs a nerf. Paper is fine.
Sincerely,
Scissors
WM is great. We have no business being on the same tier with them. Or they have no business being on a tier with us depending on how you look at it. Either way it’s a mismatch, and mismatches are boring.
That’s not a dig on WM by the way just the way it is as long as there are free transfers every once and a while a server will roll through the tier, and make for a boring week.
Good luck in the higher tiers Kaineng.
See you next week NSP.
1) As the video shows and when fighting you in game, a majority of your members do not evade. I see you doing a ton of dodge rolling but most of your guys are not very mobile. Why would they not evade?
2) When you a majority of your members are downed, they do not use their downed skills. Why is that? Would it ruin something if someone where to use their downed skill?
Thanks for sharing, and if you do not I understand.
I can probably answer this.
1. reason for that is there’s a constant AoE heal under the AoE of attack, and as we all know it, AoE skills only affects at most 5 targets. So basically a meat wall + a few AoE heals under that wall can really sustain the damage dealt.
2. While downed, spamming your 1st skill willy actually "DRAIN" life faster, so just wait for the 4th skill to get up and pop that would be much more effecient.
No skill in numbers.
MaximeP said it perfect, Zergs are just for lazy, skill less players who hide behind numbers and ride the wave. We don’t like free waves. Have fun bangin on wood.
I would object to that statement. In the case of movie 300, the Spartans hold off like a huge zerg army, how? If according to what you were saying, the Spartans would have get squashed over like in day one of the match due to the sheer size of the army. So it is actually just because the Spartans were a better tactician utilizing the choke.
Like the [MAN] guild, they utilized excellent positioning, and coordination to pull off some crazy and impressive defenses/offenses with few vs many.
So it’s not how zerg requires no skill, it’s the guy who is actually leading has the skill or not. If you did take a look at WM’s zerg, that is actually not a zerg, it’s an army. They are TRAINED to be concentrated and coordinated.
Compare WM’s video with Zoose from [MAN] in AR fighting my SoS guild, you can see a clear difference between the coordination in my guild VS theirs.
http://www.twitch.tv/thundercatshoooo/b/356251475
(Start watching from 1 hour and 9 min in the video til the end)
SoS grew up in a PvE environment, so a lot of us are not trained like WM, and comparably, we are much, much more scattered and not concentrated. I intentionally lead my zerg and run into them and get them wiped to make them learn the hard way on how and why they were wiped. Nothing learns quicker if you actually experienced it yourself. And I’m sure WM undergo this experience tons of times, thus resulting in his bot-like group with auto-follow and excellent execution of commands.
tl;dl; numbers doesn’t mean anything. it doesn’t mean skill, it doesn’t mean power. Only how the tactic was planned, and how efficiently it was executed is the main cause on why and how a battle is won/lost. Trying to stop a train by standing in front of it trying to block it vs finding and pulling emergency breaks can have an obvious result difference, you just need to know the most efficient way of executing your plan in order to pull it off.
WM/DE/RE is just op, they shouldn’t be in this tier
Kaineng just got carried up a tier because of all these transfers
Seriously, I’m sure even at Tier 1, there will be people that whines at things like this.
But I know why you guys are crying all over this, as even us Kaineng cried on DR got PRO guild that carried the server out of tier 8, but seriously, after that one time we whined, and DR left, we experienced exactly the same experience that DR had when we faced FC + ET. I had to say, at least for myself, I can clearly see why there’s so much QQing and raging.
Just let it go guys. This is like Tier 5 already. sure, even if we DID get 900+ transfers from different servers as you guys claimed, this still does not make up with all the previous lost players combined. That being LaZy, iSpy, War, Nuke, NoQQ, and all the precious guilds that Kaineng that has lost over the time, I’m sure you guys can still match it. As I have seen how much NSP can send their zerg defending, and how AR plays with their excellent executed tactics.
You guys really could have done it, but you guys aren’t doing it for one simple reason - Morale. I know we’ve literally killed most of your morale, but trust me, if you guys really do start focus and push back, you guys still have a chance, really. Just like how DR can catch up 30k point in one night after the weekend, and chased over Kaineng that had like 60k lead during the weekends in 3 days, 3 days I tell you, 60k lead, gone.
I am an honest and open dude, I can tell you, one of Kaineg’s biggest weakness is timezone coverage, sure, with WM/DE/RE here, it appeared to be a lot better, but I’m still fearing that loophole is still there. Oh well, we’ll see about that in next reset
(edited by Chaster Sharpshooter.3640)
Yep, Kaineng is on a whole other level then us right now. Anvil Rock doesn’t have any night, we don’t have much hardcore guild in WvW, and we have a lot of PuG.
The difference between Kaineng and Anvil Rock on primetime might not be so much about population, but more about PuG population.
When I join WvW, I see multiple guild tag on our side. A lot of random. A lot more PuG then any premade guild.
When I see kaineng, I always see the same tag. WM, SE, RE, SOS. They are few big guild that control the flow. They can team work better, and they have a better skill cap.
It’s like a Premade vs PuG match up this week.
I don’t have anything again Kaineng, but that kind of multiple mass transfer kinda destroy our balance. At least it’s only for a week. Can’t wait for the next week match up.

That’s how I got my SoS big. It’s no trade secret. I just snowballed it.
All you need to do is to impress other that your guild is well organized, and has a lot of FUN in it, and soon you’ll have people flocking to you.
Send me those 100 gold and some real life cash so I can take vacation, I should be good to follow your guide.
I’ll answer this on behalf of General since I imagine his reasons are similar to mine when I run an organized Zerg:
1) As the video shows and when fighting you in game, a majority of your members do not evade. I see you doing a ton of dodge rolling but most of your guys are not very mobile. Why would they not evade?
This one is probably a mix of 2 things:
1) In Zergs it is often hard to tell when to Evade, or you get lagged so much that you don’t see the attacks to dodge.
2) I will often have my Healers watching for AoE attacks on us and wait till then to spike-heal. It makes it so I do not lose out on DPS, and the healing will keep everyone up as long as possible.
2) When you a majority of your members are downed, they do not use their downed skills. Why is that? Would it ruin something if someone where to use their downed skill?
This is an easy one: Anyone downed with Thieves nearby needs to remember NOT to attack the enemy, because then you become visible again after they stealth you to rez. In Zergs I’ll usually assign Thieves the task of Refuge Rezzing while making sure no one uses Downed Skills.
Edit: Hmmm…just saw Chaster responded as well with an almost identical answer for #1. I feel better now. Though I do think my #2 answer is better Chaster!

Yet another week watching a transfer titan stomp around and claim they are the best thing ever. For the dedicated WvWs on NSP and AR, thanks for keeping up presence and showing up. For Kaineng, thanks for encouraging a week of PvE to buildup cash reserves. Have fun moving up, lets see what happens when you run into numbers. I’m predicting a repeat of DR – they were the bestest most tactical server ever until oops, last week happened. For Anet, enough with the server transfers already, last week was what T6 should be, stop allowing fair weather transfers to create steamrollers that completely destroy any semblance of balance in the lower tiers.
So many cute things being written here. So many kittens! These 7 pages read as if Northern Shiverpeaks needs to clean its litter box (you know who.) I can’t fathom having read, much less written, nearly all of what their “GM” has to spew. The kid is vile, and I don’t care how well the boy uses his keyboard’s number row inside a fantasy world.
Stay classy, have fun, and meow the kittens.

…I’m confused by this sentiment…While I will admit I’ve seen jerks in Map-Chat and such /laugh and all around be condescending snobs, I haven’t really seen it on here. I have seen many Kaineng offer thanks to AR and NSP as well as understanding for their position and yet still impressed with what they can put out. Kaineng isn’t DR…we don’t go around claiming we’re better than everyone…most of us in the larger Guilds/WvW Guilds fully expect to have the brakes stomped on soon because it will no longer be a “Zerg-fest” but rather require tactics.
The only people I’ve seen truly giving Kaineng “Props” were on the other 2 Servers…or Kaineng in relation to crushing several groups who seem to enjoy complaining more than playing. :p Those don’t really count though.
WM – Gangnam style
i am worst of WM’s warrior.
Have fun with this movie.
That was a funny video. I enjoyed the "Start Chicken run’
I wonder if people on Ehmry, Maguuma, Dragonbrand, Yaks Bend are motivated or interested in being the ones to stop Kain dead in its track. Though I won’t see Kain next week, it does appeal to me to be part of that. No disrespect towards Kain. I just see it as a newcomer to the block that needs an initiation in T5 and T4.
@StormWolf – Not hammering on the people – well maybe some of the posts here – just more the situation itself. Its hard enough to bring new bodies into WvW on a PvE server to get them the experience necessary to become effective , let alone bring them in for outmanned overpopulationed zergfest 3.0 (DB, DR, K). To quote in another thread “Blowouts suck, no matter which side you’re on. There’s no reason to log into one. Better off letting the week go and see what happens next.” Until this transfer stupidity ends, T6 is going to forever be the last week of roflstomp for the “next big thing” and the rebound fling for the “used to be the next big thing”. T7 and T8 seem to be stable. T6 wont be until one more server rebuilds. Even more frustrating knowing that last week was what T6 should be and its been destroyed by server bloat.

Dunno if it makes you feel better, but it looks like DR will probably be down here with you guys again next week. While that doesn’t initially sound good, they lost a LOT of their population…so it’ll probably be a much better fight between your Servers!
Every wvw thread each week I see 2 common themes.
1. Other servers growing dislike to us (kain)
2. Everyone’s growing dislike to server transfers
90% of the posts are not worth reading. Keep on do whatever it is to have some fun, and keep up the practice and training Kaineng. To the NSP and AR I have met, some enjoyable battles, thank you. Keep up the good work.

The sole reason I can’t wait for the “Block” is to find out who’s -REALLY- here for Kaineng, and who’s here for easy wins. What I am -hoping- will happen, is we will lose a lot of the dead weight Fairweather players who’ve been joining us since we started our “Trail of Tears” up the Tiers, and that those Guilds who joined us expressing their desire to stay and remain strong were serious. It will give them the opportunity to prove to everyone once and for all that they aren’t going to bail at the first sign of trouble.
I’d say that any reference to history, or a movie, is a moot point as this is a video game where characters don’t die, they immediately respawn and rejoin the battle. That being said, 50 vs 10 may stay at 50 vs 10, despite the 10 possibly holding of the 50 for some time. Eventually, the larger numbers will generally win, and can do so by brute force and the ability to respawn, carry more supplies, put down more seige, hold key points on the ground, etc. Although having more people doesn’t translate into less skilled players, it does give a server more wiggle room to make mistakes and dismiss tactics if they desire, as they can defend siege even if placed in the least of strategic spots.
I don’t think morale is really the issue here as much as it is a recognition of reality. I don’t think people want to waste gold on a battle that realistically can’t be won. Kaineng is a huge force and they shouldn’t be faulted for that. However, because this is a video game with features such as respawning, time zone coverage, and culling, it makes having more players the most powerful advantage. Careful strategy and tactics can only take you so far in this scenario. Servers at this tier simply cannot match the coverage that Kaineng has at this point. To make the argument that such an outbalanced WvW player base can be consistently countered with strategy is silly. Perhaps it’d be true if when your character died, they were out of the fight for a few hours, but that’s not the case. So, in the end, I think that the outmanned servers aren’t having fun (I’m not) playing Kaineng, so we are letting Kaineng pass, rather than bang our heads against a wall.
As a side note, I like this tier for what it is and the great battles we’ve consistently had against evenly matched servers such as NSP. If AR were to get massive guild transfers and started steam-rolling people, I would probably transfer elsewhere. I personally don’t find being on either side of unbalanced fight very fun. Anyways, I wish the best of luck to Kaineng and I hope you guys do well in the higher tiers. It is nice to see the server I started on climbing the ranks.

The smart thing for Anvil Rock and Northern Shiverpeaks would be to gang up on Kaineng. That’s far easier said than done though. It would take a lot of coordination to pull off and even then I think the numbers still favor Kaineng.

Couldn’t agree more and GJ expressing things more eloquently than I can.
The reality is not
“1. Other servers growing dislike to us (kain)
2. Everyone’s growing dislike to server transfers”
Honestly, I have zero opinion on Kain. Just waiting for the week to be over.
Its
“I like this tier for what it is and the great battles we’ve consistently had against evenly matched servers such as NSP” and when can we get this back.

I’ve had lots of fun. Allies coordinated significant defenses on our home borderland for 8 hours following Friday reset. When we get frustrated, we don’t blame Kaineng. Instead, we go into PvE, level up some alt characters, discover jumping puzzles, 5-man some dungeons, etc.
Then, when we’ve cooled off and are ready for more WvW, we bring tens of new players into WvW by use of recruiting, promotion, and dropping Guild boost banners. We train them on basic strategies and tactics, and show them how WvW works.
I try to spend some time each week playing with a group of people I’ve never met before. Sometimes it gets me onto a guild VoIP server I didn’t know about, and I make some more friends.
If Anvil Rock got “massive guild transfers”, then those transfers would have to contend with the fact that we are not a pre-transfer server of the class which Kaineng was a few weeks ago. However, this isn’t even possible while Anvil Rock is classified as fully populated, so don’t even worry about it.
Leave the kids to play on the lawn, while we clean our house from the inside, out.
@Anvil Pants
I used to play WvW only, becuase I thought everythng else was boring. When it becomes unplayable in WvW and it’s your only option, it’s really does sucks.
Now at least I have PvP, but still it’s annoying when I want to go WvW to relax and find myself in that kind of match up.
So I was on my Northern Shiverpeaks account this morning capping camps and I had no grudge against Kaineng or War Machine until I saw Jang’s post about “keyboard warriors” I kinda agreed that there is alot of unnecessary rabble on these forums but requiring this many people http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m320/darkangel921/gw200_zps5a05e74e.jpg to cap a camp from 4 defenders is far worse cowardice than being a “keyboard warrior” So I shall wait patiently till Maguuma gets to fight Kaineng. Mag has the numbers manpower and tactics, we will bathe in their blood.
That would be a zerg, they don’t run up to the supply camp and go, “ok guys there is 4 dudes in there with npcs…lets only send in 7 people.” No they send in the zerg, wipe everything quickly and re-supply. That’s why you take a zerg to a supply camp.
/logic
Have you seen NSP borderlands? we own NOTHING at 2 am.. Why would they need to supply up when they have everything sieged and fortified? But that’s ok I have 2 superior ballistas a nice choke point and an idea that Quenta would be proud of today,,, let the badge farming commence, the bigger the zerg the better. Oh and BTW 1 suppy camp= 100 supply so only 10 people can supply up there anyway.

I suppose. Despite having been in WvW for more than 1000 of my 1200 Guild Wars 2 hours thus far (I know this by the age of my two level 80 characters, which I took from level 2 to level 80 almost exclusively within WvW)… I can still only sympathize.
Seems to me that (and I mean generally, not you, Kar) the players whom only enjoy and become obsessed with a single mode of a well rounded game, like GW2, are the ones that we find alone, not representing a guild, or representing one we’ve never heard of, in Eternal Battlegrounds at 4am EST this past Saturday, mewling incessantly like a gutted kitten for more than an hour as I /sleep in mid-air next to them while wearing my commander dorito.
They’re the people who feel personally insulted and angered in these times. They feel cheated, as if we are collectively conspiring to ruin their fun.
I want those people to fall off a cliff, one by one, so I can savor each crunchy splat. They’re welcome to transfer up a few tiers, and join in the circle of collective self-hatred enjoyed around those parts.
In the mean time, I’ll keep practicing my skills in kitten strangling. Mewl on, little kitties.

The problem is that they’re so used to hearing stuff like that from low Tier Servers moving quickly up the Tiers that they still hear it even though it’s not being done! We must forgive the mix-up, it is understandable.

Yes, a supply camp holds 100 supply. That’s 100 supply they didn’t have. Either way, the original point stands. They were there and it’s not like they are going to hold back just so happy mctwoaccounts can have his “fair” fight. Go ahead and farm the zergs, they probably don’t really care :P
Wait wait wait…when did we claim we were the best ever? It’s constantly guys like you telling us we are worth nothing other than our numbers.
Since your transfers in and your human wave through t8-t6, you are simply your numbers, you will only see your true worth when you fight servers that are on equal terms as has been the case for DR and DB as well. Don’t get bent out of shape over it. NSP and AR could be the the most amazing tacticians ever and you could be be completely talent-less (not saying you are, btw) and the result will be the same this week. In WvW on a server level, Skill>numbers if numbers are close. Otherwise Numbers > skill.

We don’t get bent out of shape, statements like your first post are exactly what I was talking about. You never see posts from our server claiming we are the best. It’s posts like yours making general statements “Yet another week watching a transfer titan stomp around and claim they are the best thing ever. " That do nothing but try to inflame us, yet I have never seen a Kaineng member talking down to anyone but trolls in these threads.
[PAXA], I have alot of respect for you and your style of play. Thanks for making the game fun over the past few days.
You have certain leadership that spout alot of unnecessary inflammatory junk and drag your tag down. Thankfully, ANet had the foresight to provide an “ignore posts from account” option. Thanks, ANet!
Co-Leader here. Don’t have anything to spout but I would love to get a screen of your character so that way I know when I fight you.
Thanks and watch your back

2 things:
1) Despite climbing the Tiers we have not yet done any chest-thumping, we have made it clear we understand we will win and would win no matter what due to numbers and coverage. The issue he has was you making it sound like we’ve been bragging about being awesome.
2) Actually…the results of this week COULD be vastly different. Kaineng’s core group has a lot to learn, because we have become masters of defense. I have seen your numbers and they are very similar to what we had vs. DR in Tier 8. While you can not WIN against the numbers we have, if both Servers turtled up their BLs(Preferably while helping each other out to allow each other to get Tier 3 Towers/Keeps.) you could have at least kept us here and gotten a lot more Badges out of us. The end result of us eventually going up a tier is inevitable, but would take us a lot longer. The mindset required is vastly different though, which is why you’re seeing the “Transfers” as being more visible atm…they’re much more experienced in the Zerging/Attacking required.
I’d say we do have server transfers but not of the magnitude of kaineng and DR. Besides most of them are here for PVP since we’re considered as the best pvp server. If only we could get those hardcore pvpers to get in wvw, but our weakness will still be time coverage when most of our players are NA based.
Ive been through the thread, and I will see your side and adjust this point to the following – Yet another week watching a transfer titan stomp around - Guess I’m still coloured by DR.
As to point 2- NSP has played well against larger servers in the past – We stayed T5 for way longer than we should have vs DB and DH. But lets be realistic – Why would we want to keep you here? The sooner you are gone, the sooner we can get back to hopefully having a good week of WvW. Another week of “Oh look, the map is all one colour!” would just be utterly horrible. No need to earn badges for ascended items when weeks like this gives more than enough time in FoTM to be fully decked out in ascended gear as well as pad the bank for siege and upgrades next week.

I think this is where our opinions truly differ. :p I consider it a victory to stall a much “Stronger”(in population if nothing else) Server from going any further. Every week DR was in T8 was a huge fight, every week was difficult, and while there were times I complained that the numbers were ridiculous…I loved every second of it. I consider it fun to fight an up-hill battle and not lose…we may not -WIN-…but we won’t lose either.
I think it might have been a bit closer to that picture (and enthusiasm) had we been paired with DH. I can’t picture us holding hands with AR to take on Kain, even though it has been pointed out numerous times that a Northern Anvil server would be fairly good one.
Anvil Rock (especially Godfather) maybe don’t know this word “trained”.
He is Just stupid or just trolling.Community Coordinator !
Why don’t kick or bann him?
I love this video.
2m 9 secs. Charge!!!! attack Anvil Rock.
2m 10 secs. mmmmm. maybe not.
2m 11 secs, Charge!!! attack NSP.
;)

This also applies to Kaineng, we are all presently just building supply up, and levelling alts. When you have access to EB JP daily, usually you get way too much seige than any commanders can lay out supply for in a days run. 2 prints per character * lets be nice and say 100 versus the entirety of a guild 400+ (we’ll chalk it up to concurrent users at a given time in wvw)… we still won’t lay near that at all.
So yeah, both points actually apply to … all servers. 1. Not as much to do, but find a couple good battles here and there. So instead … practice/test play/improve upon, and train. And 2. Supply up, for long & constant battles ahead.
WAR would like to thank all the old and new Kain guilds. Your players have boosted the morale of my guild for next week. I think server flip Friday was our most impressive outing to date when we tried a daring Garrison ninja move which resulted in us defending Hills in your BL for almost 7 hours after it failed. I hope you have fun chasing our lowbie WAR trains for the rest of the week!

Right, and that presents two distinct types of “server transfer”: Guild coordinated, “mass” transfer, and individual player transfers. I was addressing a concern about guild coordinated transfers, which Anvil Rock can’t receive so long as our server is considered by ANet to be full.

I’ve spent some time recently with some sPvP players, including a recently formed WvW guild created by sPvP players looking to run together in WvW. Playing with them while connected to their VoIP server was fun. However, it also revealed some differences between PvP and WvW styles. For example, although the PvP crew was about 20 people, 3 5-man parties, plus some PuG, the PvP crew used combo fields very well, within and without the premade parties.
On the down side, they, like we’ve seen here from [PAXA], had no stomach for outmanned conditions in WvW, and they went back to their comfort-zone in sPvP after wiping on larger armies 3 times.

[PAXA] will be best remembered on AR BL as the run-away guild. Always enjoyed a chase.
well it has been fun kaineng. Im switchin servers till transfers on kain leave. See yah.
Well I’m actually interested to see how far kain goes up in the ranks. Sure the other two servers were stopped there, but i also don’t remember either of them having this much of a lead on us.
@PAXA guild. Be sure to be on the lookout for us soon as kardiamond said. We don’t have an established roaming team yet but its coming. See you out there in the coming weeks.
I’m looking forward to battling against mag’s. FA, and DB again. If things work out, maybe only a couple weeks now.
First loss is nothing but a lesson to improve and learn from. Other guilds come and go, but they aren’t after the same objective. Each week is suppose to be harder, we know this, otherwise the ladder would not exist.
Practice … makes … perfect. Everyday you improve, we do not? And the guilds staying have fought and won against the above servers. I just call them out, as personal fun battles.

They have some good tactics, which is what BP and DR lacked… If you recall the majority of the time we were outnumbered but ripping through BP lowbies on a daily basis until we were simply over-run. The problem is Kaineg can’t handle as many hours as DR and BP were capable of.. I don’t think they’re going very far.
