How you all can field almost 50 people per map and still get put up against people who can barley field 20 per map?

Its 80% Population. you have 20+ in 1 BL 30+ in another 30 some on another and 5-7 3 to 4 man groups running around getting supplies .. YES wining WVW has everything to do with population. Lats week AR out maned both GOM and ET servers and won 300k to 80k in points juts like this week BP with their Population overflow will win. BP Zergs more then any server i know .RIGH now .. 15+ Bp in ARBL are taking keeps 15+ are taking supplies and i see a max of 20 av running around trying to retake our stuff and 10 in BP maybe,..

It be nice to have 20+ per map in all the BL’s but unfortunately We cant on AV get 30 on 1 single map let alone 20 per map.

BP’s gonna be fine in the next bracket. If anything they may find some solace playing with a population that’s similar to theirs and probably welcome the challenge again. Nobody really likes to win with a landslide.

Oh and yea, because I can, those guilds listed a couple pages back being accused of exploiting…..they’re in the Ta Are R Da Alliance.

Only certain members of the alliance had a problem with me because well I’m fairly vocal about the use of exploits and such….just like the Ta Are R Da Alliance likes using often, especially when losing. Plus, my guild is called Equal Opportunity Haters…..I’m allowed to hate everyone and take that hate back too. Oh yea, and get with the program….AR is in T7.

If it was a full server I would expect to see me somewhere in those screen shots at some point .. somewhere. Alas I do not, as I was not participating in any hijinks.

Many of the server members of BP had claimed they had received no transfers and had the same population they had always had in Wv3 repeatedly. We all know this is not the case, no matter where they came from. Even if it was from PvE and not GoM, JQ and other servers that have posted on the boards they had transferred over. I really don’t think there would be any issue with the increase in server population if BP had just been honest about it from the start. You have more Wv3 population now, you didn’t 6 weeks ago. Do you belong in the tier you are in? No, clearly you should be in a tier with higher population and more coverage in time slots.But does this make BP a “better server with more skilled players”? Heck no. BP currently does not belong in it’s current tier and everyone knows that, except maybe some BP players that have bought into the “we have the same numbers we always have had” nonsense.

I can’t speak on behalf of wherever the screen shots are taken, I was doing my usual following the BP zerg and recapping supply I always do, supply camps don’t cap themselves.

The most discouraging aspect of Thursday night’s play was seeing how many different guild tags were involved. Just look at those pictures above. The leaders and officers of those guilds should really consider if that is how they want to be represented, and if not, I would expect to see a lot of folks in those pictures getting kicked from guilds.

I’m a bit too cynical to think that will happen in any significant way, but until it does, it really will be hard to overgeneralize about AR’s use of exploits and hacks.

I’m a founding member of [GOAT] and consider my fellow [GOAT]s friends, but I would fully expect Plok to boot me from the guild if he saw me in a screenshot involved in an exploit or hack. And he would be right to do so.

I do wonder how the Anvil Rock guild leaders will respond.

AR used this mechanism to ninja the garrison from us (SF) in the middle of the week. Before everyone blows their top I think the proper attitude is to just report the bug and then deal with it instead of trying to demonize AR about it. There is a thin and weird line between exploiting and “creative gameplay.”

On another subject to the Borlis Pass D/D elementalist who kicked my kitten repeatedly last night, you are completely awesome. Untouchable, uncatchable and just a great player. I was so demoralized about how poorly my engineer performed and inspired by how good you were I rolled an elementalist immediately. I don’t think I will ever play at that level but it’s important to acknowledge when you are just beat.

I will say I’m from Anvil Rock and noticed this happening last night and left because of it. Two towers and bay capped in about 5 minutes without any siege being used or Mesmer already inside just isn’t right. It was coordinated by the alliance leadership and for that reason I personally and others I know, no longer associate with them.

I didn’t log in WvW yesterday since I’m leveling an alt (boring) but man I would have loved to be there.

I would have reported every freaking cheater that was there. Man I hate people that use exploit, even more when they are part of the alliance.

So to every other player from other server that I replied saying Anvil Rock didn’t have more cheater then other server, I might have been wrong.

I don’t mind when it’s a random guild/player, we can’t control that. But when it’s a major guild?

I will be on a mission this week, to ban all those damn cheater out of my server.

In the picture Plok posted, I see… a bunch of people attacking a wall? So? It looks like a wall near the water gate of garrison the borderlands area. What is the issue here? (Maybe I’m just dumb and not seeing what the complaint is.)

In the picture Rinzler posted, I see two guys standing outside a keep. Yay? If it is a keep they own, I’d assume they are watching for invaders. If its a keep they don’t own, I’d assume they are scouting or spying on enemy movements. I wouldn’t have a problem with either of those activities. So what am I not seeing?

Obviously there must be something, but its not self-evident to me.

I believe the issue with the portals is that using terrain exploits it is possible to set up a portal that allows folks to get inside a keep without actually having a mesmer inside the keep. In the screenshot you can see a portal on top of the door and a portal on the ground. Most likely the portal on top of the door was placed due to an “unintended mechanic.” Effectively, yes, a portal was used to bypass a gate/wall.

I’ll have to go there and look at the terrain to really get an idea of it I guess. If there are ledges and simple jumps, I suppose you could argue that its an alternate method of gaining entry (ie: sneak attack) but if its obvious you shouldn’t be able to climb there then I’d have to agree and call it an exploit.

Not participating in this myself, nor do I condone it, however, was there any way by the time in the match that this occurred any chance a server other than BP was going to win? Is it right to do it, no of course not, but I would venture to guess it was probably done by people in those guild that were frustrated by the imbalance, not by people using malicious tactics to win.

People in the game use whats in the game to the best of their abilities and get called cheaters. If you made an awesome build for your character no but you will get called cheater but all you did was think of a skill combo that the game designers didn’t intend in development. Alot of times these builds are nerfed which in the case of whats going on if Anet doesnt like whats going then they should fix their game. Dont blame people for using the all the tools they have. Blame the designer for not planning for the obvious.

I can’t really see the portal, but thats probably due to my eyesight. I have a real problem with all the glittery effects piling on top of eachother in this game.

I certainly agree that bypassing a wall/gate that way would be an exploit, though, and I think the rest of Anvil Rock would agree. I’ve been playing a lot of WvW, and I haven’t seen these methods used so its definitely not a general server-wide thing. Most of our activity consists of karma-trains (ie: capturing stuff and then not defending it) or solid straight-forward tactics (ie: trebs, catapults, etc.). If I saw something like that happen in-game, I’d report the exploit myself. I want to win, but I want to win fairly. I don’t dance on peoples corpses, emote tears over them, or use lame tactics just so I can say “yay, we won”. It’s not like we get a prize at the end.

EDIT: Why DON’T we get a prize at the end? Seriously, the game should track this stuff and give everyone who did WvW an award at the end of the week based on their performance.

We actually need to up our game in terms of overall coordination, I think. One reason we get creamed by BR is that we seem to move as a bunch of distinct units that don’t really communicate as much as they could. That situation is improving, I think, but we’re still not there.

I have to say I was especially impressed this week by the way BP used the Overlook in EB to shut-down pretty much any activity originating from Veloka’s.

We had our moments, though. We absolutely salughtered one BP zerg that came into Veloka’s when we purposely let the gate get breached. That was pretty fun. Having 3 billion BP take all 3 maps completely away an hour later was less fun, but oh well — you take the good with the bad.

I’m hoping our next match is against a team thats more at our level (ie: similar tactics, similar numbers).

Finger pointing may help curb the desire people have to actively “cheat”, reporting them will suspend them for doing so, but the third and MOST effective thing is reporting these methods as bugs so that they can be fixed to completely STOP anyone from using them ever. Don’t forget to report bugs!

Those are exploit. Everybody know it. We know it. You know it. When you play the game, you agree with the code of conduct of Anet. If you exploit, you are going again the code of conduct, and shall then be punished.

If we follow your logic, I could use a speed hack as long as Anet doesn’t block it. Yeah man great logic.

Don’t try to defend exploiting, there is no way you’ll get out with it.

Are you admiting you are using exploit? Since you think it’s ok, I don’t see why you wouldn’t use them.

People complained about mesmer portals since beta and nothing has changed with tons of forum post many of which have been deleted or merged. So putting in another bug report seems to be a bit pointless.

I haven’t been in the threads in a while and all i have to say is OMG.

I’m at work atm, but i just wanted to say farewell to BP, you guys do not belong in these lower tiers, and fighting under populated servers in wvw, it only gets you big headed like some of your members posting in the forums have shown. Must be nice to transfer down and fight you way back up, wining week after week. Great moral booster, and I hope you all the best in the next tier, or the tier after.

It’s funny, AR won in the previous tier because of numbers and majority of us admitted to that, but still today, BP can’t admit to just simply outnumbering their opponents hands down, and that is clearly why you are winning.

and before Plok, or Daisnoob responds to this thread and say it’s not numbers lol, I just want to say is that I can’t wait to fight an authentic server like GOM and NSP and not a created server by transfers like BP. It’s clear to me now that all the noobs that transferred out of the upper tiers probably from losing servers i might add, decided to head down join bp and work their way up since the strategies they wanted to use like oh, bash everyone against the gates, zerg around mindlessly, wasn’t cutting it in the upper tiers who used real strategy, and since it’s perfectly working so well vs servers that can barely field 40 players on a given map at times, it must be th grand of all strategies.

Wow name calling so grown up. All I was stating was that anet needs to take some responsibility for the state of their game. People will use what is there to use. There is only 1 group that can fix it. To say well we just wont use whats there and trust that no one else will use it is naive.
