Yes. Tytos our leader filmed all 8 fights. We started with 18v18 for first couple of fights and the last couple it was around a 15v15. We were up 3-0 and ended 6-2 in choos favor. Some really awesome fights though. Hopefully we can get some more guilds involved in the future.

Was fun watching the GvG on the sidelines. We really need to set up more like this near the end of the week (Thursday). I feel sorry for the teams going at it though with all of the BG JQ and SoR on the sidelines I bet culling was a real pain. I know watching from the side all I could see was Agg and the Choo commander. It looked like he was soloing an Agg zerg.

So, I have a question for you then. Its similar to a philosophy question I’ve heard once.

Say there is a naval ship, named Enterprise. Every time she goes back to port, a piece of the ship is replaced. The mast one trip, the rudder another. Until eventually she’s made up of entirely new wood. Then each piece that was taken from that ship was put together into a new ship. Which ship is the real Enterprise?

So a guild comes from another server and 100 people come in the transfer. When it gets to its new server all its officers and members are from the old server. Over the course of five months players come and go and the guild builds and grows. The officers and leaders slowly quit and are replaced with people that didn’t come in the transfer until there are only one or two original leaders.

Is that guild still a transfer after that long?

The original ship that is made up of new parts that is named enterprise is the enterprise.

Well of course there was alot from both sides, but you are also failing to take into note that BG was coming back from their spawn and we would have to come back from garrison for our spawn. I do know the quality is kitten atm. I’ll be fixing that tonight, and that isn’t gameplay of me but of a guildie.

I remember seeing quite a few SoR running back to that fight through the water. I was working on picking off stragglers at the time. But yeah the BG zerg was probably graveyard zerging you. Kinda lame but it’s how the map is designed unfortunately. Happens to us all.

It appears to have been a well played zerg fight on your part. Hard to tell what’s going on most of the time though.

I also agree the rivalry in itself is pretty fun. Honestly your play has forced us, (we’ve faced you every night in Tier 1 at least for a portion of the night) to keep sharp. It makes us better for all other fights as well. I’m sure it does the same for you.

Having said that, you and I both know 2am is not an accurate measurement of “OMG WE ROXORED YOU, OMG THE BAGS”. So as Rawthorn said, we would like to GvG. Maybe you win, maybe we win. Either way it will be fun. And either way I know I’d like to do it more than once. I think its something this game is fundamentally lacking but something we can choose to participate in.

We’ll go 30 vs 30. Enough for a good fight, shouldn’t be too much skill lag if we do it south of the camp. We can count out both sides (not that either of us would EVER accuse the other of cheating). I think it would be fun, and thats what this is all about.

Though we should do it sooner rather than later. Or we may not get the chance.

Two guilds fighting with equal numbers…in a known setting…with foreknowledge. That’s in no way representative of WvW skill, where reacting rapidly to unexpected situations against possibly superior numbers can occur at any moment.

It’s in those situations you can recognize the good fighters.

What you’re proposing is just a face-saving measure. “Unless you accept our challenge, your claims are not true!”

Who cares if you or anyone else believes it? Stop worrying about your press and fight. If you’re as good as you say you are, people won’t believe any false propaganda anyways.

I’m not saying unless you accept our challenge your claims are untrue. We’ve wiped each other back and forth all week. We both have footage of wiping each other. Both have footage of OMG THE HUMANITY LOOK AT THE BAGS as in that last vid. What is there to save face on?

And you’ll notice no where in there did I say we’ll destroy you or anything else, I truly am interested in seeing what would happen. We all know with culling it can be hard to see who has more numbers, you guys may wipe us up, or we may have very very close fights or we may win, who knows, but we won’t unless we play. I asked cuz I thought it would be fun, not to “control the press”.

You guys GvG Agg. If you don’t want to GvG us well that is of course your right, and people can draw what conclusions they want from it.

18vs18 would be fine with us, whatever you guys want.

It just seem like first it was weekly score isn’t a measure of WvW skill, because of coverage, but SOR NA is best.
Then PPT in NA isn’t a measure of WvW skill of our NA, fights are.
Now even fights with foreknowledge of location aren’t a measure of WvW skill, only surprising your enemy with superior numbers is.

Know a lot of players and guilds on JQ sitting this round out waiting for culling and lag to take a dive. There’s too many players in tier 1 for the servers to handle as it is. We likely have the power to address lag ourselves if we would all just spread out a bit (across maps & worlds) but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Well, we got what we asked for. When the culling patch came out they lowered the map limit for a week and quietly increased it the next week.

As soon as all the possible zergs converge on one area the servers can’t handle it.

Yeah, only do that to SF and PRX clowns :P

Why so much hate for BG?

So I wanted to take the time to address the rumor mill regarding BG ‘Buying/Hiring/Bribing’ or whatever else, Guilds to fight for us. This will probably be a long winded post, hit the bottom for TLDR.

So first my credentials;

I’m the Chapter AGM of Lords of the Dead on Blackgate. LotD is one of the oldest (dare I say THE oldest?) active MMORPG Guild world wide (est. 1995 for those that don’t know.) You may have noticed we don’t post much here, or guru, or anywhere. We tend to save our breathe for stuff that’s worth saying.

I have helped bring the BG Community together since we first transferred over back in early October. I’m a moderator on Blackgatewvw.com, recognized as a community leader among my peers and the BWC.

Probably the most important fact for you to know about me regarding this issue, is that I was the point man on our meetings with FoE/Agg and later MERC/ND prior to their transfer to BG.

Every single one of those Guilds reached out their hand to us and inquired about how receptive BG would be for a move from SoS. They asked about our coverage, and would they be a good fit for what we already have. We talked to great lengths about willingness to fight, being active, rest days, etc etc etc. All the above Guilds affirmed their decision to move to Blackgate before the idea of a donation was ever mentioned. Here I should be clear, only MERC and ND ever asked about the possibility of help with transfers. It was in the spirit of helping Guilds stay together and keeping this game as free to play as possible that we agreed to help offload some of the cost for their Members.

So there you have it, straight from the horses mouth. I’m sure there will be spin, or claims that I’m creating spin, or just overall calls of BS. I’m also sure that if we carry a win for this week people will say we bought our way back into T1 and to the #1 server spot. To be honest, I could care less about what anyone else on another server has to say about it. I do however realize there is a dark cloud over our new Guilds, so perhaps with first hand information it will help alleviate the crap being thrown their way. So take what you want from all this, my intent was only to deliver the truth and set the record straight.

To all those ‘in the know’ people, who made such ridiculous claims about 2000gp per Guild or other asinine posts. Just lol. Clearly you have or say you have people in the BWC, or who know people in the BWC, or know person (x) who saw it all go down. Based on what I’ve seen so far, it’s a lie. Those people fed you crap and you ate it up, because as always in video game politics, people eat up the stuff that creates the most drama.

TLDR: I was at the meetings, hell I led the meetings. Anyone who posts information contradictory to what I’ve written above is pulling your chain.

Yeah probably. It’s usually players that only participate in WvW when a server is winning, and are basically saying “haha we’re in T1 and winning you’re bad neener” or something along those lines. All servers have the sort, and they usually go away when losing. Humans are usually mean by nature … we have to learn to be nice.

I agree, that’s one thing that makes me proud that I play on JQ. I’ve seen spam laughs from a lot of BG and even from some SoR. It’s really unsportsmanlike. Only emotes I see from our JQ guys are usually beckons, cheers and salutes.

We really don’t have to be mean spirited about the competition, after all it’s only a game, and laughing and dancing on corpses is pretty low.

We don’t care about the whole buying of guilds. The whole fact that you guys had the once T1 rulers BANDWAGON to your server is what ruins it. When I was on Blackgate we had our chances of ruling T1 but PuGs quit, Guilds hated each other (and still do), and there was no real communication outside some forums that was moderated by someone that didn’t play the game. Some of the guilds, instead of preparing, felt they HAD to attend WvW. Instead of fixing this problem, they paid/bandwagon for guilds to transfer over and now talk like they’re all that

I said the same thing when I was on Blackgate and I’ll say it again and again. They aren’t T1 material, and the fact I’ve been with just about every guilds zerg so far in this matchup and it’s been a simple cakewalk over them, making tons of badges and gold, shows that is the truth.

If SoR were to get the coverage to actually compete, there wouldn’t be much chance. The fact we even have over 100k points with such lack of coverage is nothing short of amazing. Constantly having paper walls while you guys have T3 and still owning the PPT matchup.

You guys should simply try getting better rather than bandwagoning. That is all.

Nothing will ever beat the crotch grab emote from Shadowbane. I was a little surprised when the dude just stood there not finishing me off when he had the chance but it’s all good. I’ve killed so many people and been defeated enough that it’s just not a big deal to me.

Epic fight. Pretty impressive you guys won that tbh, spawn camp fight almost 15minutes and they kept reinforcing.
