Sooo which dev actually thought this was a proper fun idea to implement as an event ? Could you not foresee this kitten from happening?

So we all rush the border with a golem zerg and it was fun to wreck the enemies and burning them down to the grond, taking keeps in just 30 sec, instant down thiefs messmers and rangers (yes we have the same range as rangers so nowere to hide for them). After that it was about cap and recap, cap and recap, cap and recap, cap and recap. After 2.5 hours and the longest fight we had that evening lasted for 45 sec, i was ready to fall a sleep on the keyboard because i was so bored. The only thing that amused me by that time was to listen to my golem when he was dancing.

This week will totally empty the border and everything will be paper because why bother upgrade something that will be gone in short.

Next time there will be events, please have them over the weekend and not the whole week. This way we can go on and play as usual if the event don’t fall as well as you guys hope for. This event wont.

We’ve known this was coming for a while, and although Alpha blueprints spiked a bit they came back down. You can buy them with badges anyway. Our BL has just been pretty trashed by one of our opponents – they realised it was golem week before us (nice spot guys!).

BUT!

You CAN kill golems with canons and arrow carts. Yes it’s a bit harder. Yes the golems move faster and do more damage, but it IS possible to stop them.

Sure we’ll see a different play style for a week – and that’s a long time – but I’ve stayed with my server on a drop from T3 to T8 and I’m not going to stop playing WvW just because ANET tried something different for a week out of the years I’ve played (from original beta).

I don’t want this to be the new WvW, but I’m willing to adapt for a short time because next week is a new day (as it were).

If you REALLY don’t like it, take a 1 week holiday (I know you don’t want to but at least you won’t be taking part in something you don’t like). If you’re feeling adventurous, hop in a golem and try it…. you might even enjoy yourself! I was also sceptical at first, but it can be fun and golem duels are something new to learn!

ArenaNet event makers are either high on crack, waste of WvW time, another week afk.

No. Just no….
You can’t stop a 6/7 golem rush at your keep atm. Because acs won’t work fast enough and because we won’t have ANY canons upgrade during the week (flipping is just too fast). And if someone gets canons it’ll definitely not be the ones that need them vs golems…

No this week is about golems vs golems. Like it or not, that is another debate. But no BS about how you can “stop” them plz : )

No construction on, how is bad, just saying, it bad and it sucks. But why, were you so set in your ways they this is a big change? Why not go out there and have fun. What stoping you from playing as normal? I am just confused by this? On top of this, I notice more players in wvw, take the time to introduce your self to the new WVW, they came for the fun, they may stay after it gone?

DiscoJacen – I must admit I was in a keep that hadn’t been flipped yet so I take your point. But I do think we can come up with strategies other than complaining about how everyone is going to leave WvW because of this. Perhaps use Omegas instead of canons?

The event is just ridiculous, blobs with 10-20 golems, opening gates in 10 seconds, spamming 1111 and karmatraingin everywhere. This will be a karma train week, go somewhere, spam 1 and get your loot, WXP and your karma.

I really think these kind of things should be done in EOTM so only players that want to do it can go there and try it, doing it in regular WvW is just something really bad for the WvW players, people already left reset because was boring, people won’t lay this week because it’s boring, people will not upgrade or defend this week because it’s useless. What’s left? Ah yes!! Spam 11111, drop a golem, spam 1111111, take your karma, repeat

For years we have called for less golems, they brought us more….
We cried for new maps with the original essence of the current ones. We get EOTM 2.0…..
We asked for less pve in wvw maps. We get more, so much more….

This event is a sham and I’d much rather have seen a week without golems, or catas, or trebs, or my favourite without AC’s!!!!

It just a week long fun event to change up the norm, how can you say it the future, you did read that it only last a week, right?

The problem with this is only way you can do now is 1 big zerg running from building to building, so you have 3 map zergs running capping hill- red Tower – blue Tower – bay – sunny – garry – crag, and zerg 2 start bay – sunny – garry – crag – hill – red Tower – blue Tower, zerg 3 garry – crag – hills -red Tower and so on.

Problem is, there are tons of fun event suggestions around but instead they give us this stuff, and yes it shakes things up but in a very negative way, at least to me my guildies and many realmies.

This was said already 2 weeks ago when Patch notes came out, people already predicted this and it’s happening.

It’s constructive to say they could have tested this on EOTM, or just limit the duration not to 7 days. There is nothing good to say, everywhere I asked and could see (at least 3 different resets) were the same, go somewhere, drop golems take it, use golems take everywthing, then other server will do the same behind. There is no fun in that, sometimes the karma train is even more kittened since you arrive so quick that the lord is still buffed from the previous cap from other server

wvw player should make vacation for a week

This won’t keep people playing WvW TJgalon, when they find out it’s not all about Ktrains though. If they see big epic, non-laggy fights, that will bring and keep people playing WvW. For about an hour, it’s okay, after that it get’s old like any gimmick.

This should be an event that lasts the weekend, like that temporary April Fools event.
They should be trying harder to find better ideas, like a change to the same scoring system for once.

Was fun for 1hour or so.

Whoever thought this is a good idea should be sacked.
Won’t be playing for the rest of the week, and absolutely no chance I’ll pre order HoT now out of protest.

don’t you already do that normally, at least now, were doing it in suits, and able to take one a few players at once before the suit gets over welm. I have to go to work, so only got to play for a hourish, but i had fun, even destoryed a suit. I can’t wait, maybe even when i get home, it might be more active due to it.

can you name one busness that does that. If you listen to them, most of the time, the ideas wont be helpful or upset a balance. I work in store, everyone wants reduce prices, lol.
Also saying your not going to pre order out of spite for a week events makes me wonder why they shopuld do more, if something like this gets you upset. It a game, have fun, not a borning job, lol.

Ummmm no. You can’t stop the golems because if the player piloting them has mastery they just pop out at full health, in stealth and build another golem.
The only way to win is to have more people and more golems.

They took away all strategy from WvW. You can’t defend against larger numbers, there is no point is denying your enemy supply, there is no point in roaming, scouting or upgrading. The only thing left to do is hop in a golem and karma train, which is fine for PvE’ers who love fighting brain dead npc’s but this is terrible for WvW players.

No one will bother upgrading stuff, it will be a karma train.

First doing the same thing day in and day out, is that not what PvE is except in WvW it is not predictable what the enemy is going to do? It sucks because there is no strategy, no though in what’s happening. Run around spam 1 take everything in 30s or less. Versus having thought about what you want to defend, or what you want to take. What are the consequences. In this golem rush crap there are no consequences. AND to make things worse it only brings out the difference in numbers even more apparent than the stability change.

Well, the fact is that when I play I look for fights, in both public tag or guild raid, if there are no fights I attack a keep so people come defend and fight. PPT wars are dead since year 1 of the game, it is just ridiculous to have a blob that can take any keep in 1 min since they reach outer and to see all servers blobs run in circles, taking karma and spamming 1

I like to run around while not being in a golem as do many many others. So explain to us how this event is fun?

Um, i play a lot of wvw, i know i am not a high level, but i only been a few month old, i am up to level 135, and i play wvw at least 2 hrs a day, as I try to play everything. I not doing anything differnt then normal in wvwm, just things are kinda moving a little faster, and I seem to die a lot more, but it a game, it fun, it not, oh no, i am a gamer, i will adept, and when the week up, it will be miss but I’ll contiune to play WVW.

It just a week long event, it not permeninte, why not just enjoy the roller coaster for the week, it not the end of the world?

Maybe you all should try fighting Golems with Golems.

It’s because the fact that people already predicted this before it even happened, it’s because it’s every time more frustrating how Anet just cares about their PVE playerbase and new players and doesn’t take any attention to the veteran playerbase, or a game mode as it is WvW, that has such loyal players and after all, makes the name of the game you are playing “Guild Wars”. Maybe it should be named “Spam Wars” to be more fitted to the actual game

whoa rank 135?! I mean that’s almost bronze! That must have taken you at least a whole week of EotM to get. You’ve clearly spent a lot of time in WvW and undoubtedly have a very strong understanding of the game mode.

Thats fairly simple and easy to understand.

TBH I wasn’t going to buy HoT anyway until Anet stop ignoring the rampant hacking, this debacle just reinforced that view.

youre the only1 who enjoys it and my guess is that you actually are a pve player and does WvW every once in a while

dont blame him on his rank, some people enjoy golems some dont.
i dont like it at all but even if i did we dont need golems when 2 hackers port around insta cap anything
