Where’s Raincrow? I miss Raincrow.

Just wanted to observe how last week, there were countless rants about how SBI is winning despite being lacking in skills or tactics. This week we are apparently still completely lacking in skills and tactics along with chest thumping about the score and taking our keep. Through it all I’m rather proud of the fact that, for the most part, the posts from SBI have been respectful of the skills and abilities of the other servers.

Who is chest thumping about the score?

Is there a good way of countering a golem rush of that magnitude? So far the consensus seems to be “back off, and retake it from them once they move on”.

Another question. Are you just going to sit there and take that CD and SBI?

Or are you going to get smart and go after them. Mag coming on here bragging about taking both your Keeps. And you’re just going to go about business as normal, fighting each other and letting Mag stomp your kitten into the ground, having their way with you.

If you have only one man, you can build a treb aiming the gate, and wait for them. If they come, all their golems will die very quickly. But you have to have patience ; they may not come all day long.

If you have only one man, you can build a treb aiming the gate, and wait for them. If they come, all their golems will die very quickly. But you have to have patience ; they may not come all day long.

Yep. I remember Yaks trying a golem rush last week against Dawns. Someone had built a treb meant to countertreb any treb in stargrove but we used it to wreck the golem rush. And the next golem rush too.

What we did last week many times while outnumbered and facing inevitable zergs with only one place they wanted to go, was to set up super sieged choke points in a keep or SMC and keep camping it till we wiped or TC/DB gave up.

There was one night holding SMC with it’s gates open, I’m sure I had gotten well over 100 kills and multiple full inventories before I died. That was from falling off a cliff during a supply run…

That week our ending score was ~99,374 to TC’s ~343,230 but it ended up being one of the most fun WvW weeks, for me at least.

Yes, well, the choke point argument went out the window when trebs cracked open two wall sections on the SBI Overlook (Eternal Battlegrounds), and when we took a break to snatch up our borderlands . . . we came back and ran into the same zerg all over again.

That’s when I called it quits for the night.

Like I said. I’m a ranger, and a player who’s not that good at player-vs-zerg. “What am I supposed to use, harsh language?”

It’s not that we don’t like posting. Some of us just prefer to not feed the trolls as a general rule. I mean it’s like when you give a mouse a cookie, but far far worse.

Arrow carts and ballistas. It’s true the same method won’t work forever and in every situation but really the only way you can beat numbers in WvW is with a lot of siege on a concentrated area unless they’re just bad. Then you can stack might and steamroll.

For what it’s worth, I’m not even WvWing this week except for daily since when we blowout I’m never motivated and sort of feel like I’m on the wrong side.

Tho I’m just strange like that… Our fairweathers are the opposite.

By the way, lots of fun last night @ CDBL Bay, extended 3-way (which is really the best kind). Also, good times on the walls of SM before that…even though that 3-way was cut short (maybe you guys were excited and just finished too fast). It’s ok, it happens to everyone.

We spent the last couple of weeks dealing with some bitter trolls in another tier that had dampening effect on our posting habits. I’m sure the activity will pick up soon.

I actually prefer fighting Maguuma to Yaks Bend as they have a habit of complaining about us night capping even as they have twice our score, which always makes me scratch my head a bit.

Maguuma is less about moving up tiers than YB. I prefer t3 over t4. I don’t like serving up zergs to lesser populated servers as is happening.

I wish my server had an actual oceanic crew. Not to go up in tier, but because our Aussie commander really gets pooped on.

YB seems to want to be something they’re not.

CD and SBI shouldn’t be too shy in posting. I think mag is tame to our opponents when we go into zerguuma mode. And I have to applaud both servers this week. Whether or not you guys have retooled your servers since people xferred off of them you guys have a whole lot of fight in you. And SBI’s small man teams are very sneaky.

I walked up to 2 guys attacking a tower of the enemy team yesterday in the late evening. They were meleeing it. They had been meleeing it for 15 minutes and not a single person had come to defend it or check on it. So I joined them. We meleed the door down for another 5-10 minutes and took the tower. Three people.

You only needed one person to come and ruin our day. Pointing out that not a single person came is not bragging. We are honestly confused as to where your people are.

As probably the most hated person on the server, I can answer this. SBI has an overabundance of ‘fair weather players’. Unless we are winning within the first 5 hours on friday, people started saying “Well, back to PvE/Farming”.

You will not have many fights outside of the mindless zerging and some of them are leaving. SBI is flooded with good ideas but unless they are followed by a blue tag or spam about SBI teamspeak they are not adhered.

Yesterday, about 4pm CST Maguuma was trying to take Ogrewatch and a certain commander that I frequently name as probably the worst one on SBI. Placed siege in the easiest place for Mag to counter siege. Props to you guys for already posting up counter siege at the exact places where it would hit all of ours. After a few deaths, the commander took his crew to an uncontested BL.

For the most part, SBI has people willing to learn but we have the some of the worst commanders in the history of PvP, anywhere. We lose to inferior numbers on a regular basis and I give additional props to the 5 CD (3 thieves 1 d/d ele and ranger) by pangoloss that wiped a good 25 SBI people. I watched from Ogrewatch, spamming in team chat what would happen, and yet again. I was right

Maguuma, please dominate SBI as much as possible. I want you guys to get up 400+ plus so I can ridicule SBI into making some transfers off or generally quit the game in general. SBI is a solid server that belongs in tier 6 but we have a population advantage. Mostly bad players, but in WvW numbers trump skill most of the time.

First. I offer you a bottle of YOLO and welcome to our world. Every single match Mag is in now is already predetermined in terms of #1 and usually 2 and 3 but so what? It doesn’t mean no one is allowed * gasp * try.

Why this upsets you that someone points out that the games World vs World ranking system is nothing more then a ranking based on Population I don’t know..

I thought this was well known by now.

Nobody has denied that rankings is population, the overall outcome is determined by population and that’s why maguuma is winning. Killjoy was never talking about the whole matchup, merely a snippet where she and four others took the east side of SBI bl without resistance whilst SBI had 10-15 players punching at SW tower, she is merely confused as to why the SBI players concerned chose SW tower over the east side of the bl is all. As a side note I think you also misunderstood the /laugh point, from what I read it’s more the confusion that the SBI defenders when eventually reacting on inner garrison /laugh’d at the maguuman invaders, an act of superiority over them. But the defenders had just lost their whole east side to those 5 who they /laugh’d at, showing a complete lack of superiority. I take the original post as a little bit of a lesson to check for ninja with a chest thumping agenda, but you know all about ninjas though right? (loved those videos friendopal)

We may have had more ppl on the map but we had very few ppl paying attention and trying to defend. It shouldn’t happen but it does.

I didn’t notice the emotes….didn’t come from those that were on TS I think….but that happens too. You can’t apply the attitude from some to a whole server. I certainly didn’t feel “superior” at that moment. But was relieved we finally responded enough to stop the ninja at Garrison at least. =/

Agreed with this, you guys have nothing to be discouraged about, look at the tiers lower down and take note of how many of those servers have been pooped on by transfers…You are doing fine and you all are putting up a hell of a good fight.

Hmm… Let me try to help… Yesterday (or the day before?) in WvWvW one of the players on one of the servers (either SBI or CD, I’m pretty sure) killed me. It wasn’t fair. I wasn’t ready. The should have warned me and the others in my group. I’m very unhappy. I’m still the more skilled player.

Just speaking for myself, it’s fun to hop onto a borderland and clean up a camp solo once in a while . . . mostly because somewhere else, a tower is being assaulted so most everyone’s busy there

Usually that statement really means: I’ve irritated the majority of people I’ve interacted with, but Instead of thinking that’s reason to change my behavior, I’m going to be proud of it.

Hard to do when we cant even fill 1 map let alone multiple.

I think both SBI and CD are beautiful and we should all love/respect each other. Also note that Johje isn’t even in this tier from what I can tell so you should prob. ignore him
