Did phantasmal zerker get fixed this patch?
They better freaking do. It’s sad to see it hit only 2000 to 3000 damage MAX with ~116% crit damage and 3300+ attack power pretty much consistently. Usually even less. The 2-3k damage is with all hits being crits, even.
Phantasmal Berserker is currently a joke of a supposed damage skill.

I cant stand it either, which is what makes me wonder why I see so many mesmers in pve and wvw with a GS. I dropped GS for scepter/pistol awhile back… and ive made my mesmer to 80 twice. (dont ask, stupidity)

I will not believe it has been nerfed until they state it. ^^
They probably couldn’t find a way to fix how they broke it and so shrugged their shoulders and moved on. An unintended Nerf, but one none the less
How can they not figure out how the kitten they broke it… Simple look at what you did to Mesmer February 26th… Start rolling back those changes on your testing servers… and tada! something should change… Or is that too hard?
And even if they do not find the fix for it, they at least should compensate us with something else. E.g. up the damage, make him attack faster, etc. whatever they can change “easily” in berserker’s mechanics until they find out how they can fix him.
They broke him and they seem to not care for the mesmers.. why not calm them down with a temporary fix? (as mentioned above)
Especially it is not the first time he is massively bugged and now we waited since when? Since February??? How can that be?

if you think the stealth nerf was a mistake you are kinda naive. it was a flat nerf in damage that could have been fixed for sure. you think confusion was the main priority over izerker for nerfs? izerker was taken care of pre confusion nerf so phantasm builds didnt need another nerf. it was a stealth nerf + obamaesque blame the other guy( i dont kno wwhat happened someone must have made a mistake and nerfed you) excuse. sad to say the way this company is run and runs balance makes me miss wow….. just not enough to pay for it.
They once told us he was not working as intended and were able to fix him and this time it will be the same, too.
It is just a matter of time…
BUT I am unhappy how they handle it. They should communicate much better and they should show that they really care for this HIGH PRIORITY bug.

This is horrible. I was just thinking about this today and noted how my zerker is somehow hitting lower in PvE than in PvP. Why has nothing been done to resolve this borking? I think the mesmer community has been more than patient on this matter. I would gladly take the previously longer attack interval if we could retrieve a sliver of the damage he had.
My berserker still hits hard frequently so for me i never even noticed nerf.
But i must say that dropping warden, illusionary leap/swap, blurred frenzy is becoming incredibly addictive.

iZerker has actually been bugged for going on 5 months now. I think they may have fixed it briefly but JonP was here posting about it as far back as December.
Berserker not doing the correct damage is known issue. We don’t know where this issue is coming from but I intend to solve it by the next build. 12/14/12
I know that seems a long time but it will be set back to viable. If you have good data on the damage it used to do to heavy target dummy vs what it does now that will help me track down the issue.

Now if only I could figure out the berserker dmg thing… Worst case scenario I will just try and readjust the numbers based on the new functionality but that is harder because I don’t have the old data. For what it is worth it was not the bladetrail change that messed with this because we locally reverted that and this berserker issue still persisted.
So studying it here empirically we think berserker is just missing and not less damage, but that duelist was actually impacted by the “bladetrail” bug fix. I will try and up the duelist damage and I will try and track down why berserker is not always hitting.
izerker was changed the same patch they changed torch function. the day before that patch on LA test dummy… ( izerker dosent miss any hits and can not crit on the dummy)
same gear same spec my damage went from 4400 to 3000. if there is an issue with the izerker missing that is just part 2 of the stealth nerf. the way anet is running thier game seems very sub par. no communication on any issue only huge swinging nerfs to classes and bug fixes. thier balance guy in the state of the game seems very oblivious to how the game actually works and the issues the game has. im just assuming the balance team is not from gw1 or any other game because they seem to be reading forums on how they should balance and are not testing any patches before release.
while i think wow has some real nerf bat balance issues and i stopped playing that game for that reason atleast they run ptr where they can get some mass testing done to changes before they just throw them into the game and screw things up.

First of all berserker was bugged last year and they finally fixed him after a while.
“Everything was fine again.”
And then with the 26th February patch they broke him again, but this time they only replied once and closed some threads about this issue. Now it has been two month since it occurred and one month since they gave us any info about the berserker.
It’s not that we would not understand that it might be a little bit tough to find a solution for it, BUT it did not happen for the first time (and it is similar to what happened before) and if it takes such a long time and they claim to have him on their high priority list, they should give us a temporary fix.
And tell us what’s going on.
It COULD be quite easy to calm us mesmers down.. ^^
next time, bring it to the table on SoTG, see what they have to say, anyone?

Awesome. I know this is ENTIRELY off-topic but I had to ask… Why didn’t our Signet of Midnight get any rework in this Signet-buffing patch? 10% boon duration is, well… not worth it at all.

I believe what he means is the floating text that indicates the amount of damage done by an attack… If I understood him correctly, the attack is doing the expected amount of damage, but it is not displaying the damage with a “floater” indicator accurately all the time.

Thanks for the reply Jon. I’m guessing that means the only bug is in the pop up number which tells us how much it did? When testing on golems I’ve previously had it do 700 dmg as full zerker spec, and it certainly didn’t look like his hp bar moved as though he really had been hit for 4k.

I’m a bit skeptical about this. Back when I did a lot of testing with the berserker, my tests were done with basically 100% crit chance for the berserker. This allowed me to determine number of hits based on number of bleeds on the target through sharper images.
What my testing found was that the berserker would completely miss often, and hit only once or twice many times, and this was definitely not an issue with floaters, and missing floaters wouldn’t affect number of bleeds.

thanks for the clarification, I am a bit skeptical on this, but I think we are in a no win situation if Anet is sticking to what they stated. No one has done any recording in combat log or videos to since this bug has been going on for months, and Anet will just stick to the “it’s a visual error and mob is getting the same damage as before” answer. He said, she said, we will not win either way…

Wow if this is true….. how long ago was this known.. did they realize this and just let us sit and spin for ever until we have 5 posts about our damage reduction over and over for months.. or was this just found out today?
very easy to find out if this is true. get someone in spvp and send the zerker after them.
see if the zerker is doing the damage it says or doing more. please people hop in a private spvp server and start testing.
so track your freinds health. tell them the floater number and have them tell you the real damage number.

My testing appeared to match pyro’s before the patch, I haven’t tested post patch.

As you can see you have an active mesmer community on which you can relate to do an extensive QA testing on this topic. the people who are saying they dont have old data are also saying that there is no change from old data to new data. “just a floater issue”.. so did they start keeping old data after the first post? do they have the old numbers and the new numbers. do they think that we are too dumb to understand a better answer then its a floater issue? like how it functions and how the error is effecting it.( like the floater for the first hit of berzerker isnt displaying a floater,,, or whatever the issue is." so when the 100s of us that test this in game to figure out the problem for them are armed with the correct info.

Made a video showing the bug j Peter mentions and the bug where iZerker totally misses.
Your testers probably aren’t very good considering how many bugs are still in the game since Beta, but ill leave that for another time.

get a partner,,,,, get in spvp empty server. record thier full hp. send a izerker at them.. see the floater over thier head… see if the floater matches thier hp reduction…
theres the test.. if the floater is wrong they should have lost more hp then your floater indicated.
if there is somethign wrong with my logic please let me know. if you need a friend in order to test this … let me know and i will test tonight.
this is definately NOT just a bug with the floater text. there is no way from just playing the game that the phantasm is doing normal damage.
the damage numbers you saw in full berserker and the amount of average health 1 spin USED to do pre-bug and the damage it does now is night and day.
I will redo my previous test tonight. If this has become a floater problem, I will know, and if this is truly a hitting problem as I suspect, I will know that as well.

Hey there Pyro! I just tested it in sPvP with guildmates (individually) as they can see how many times it hits and how hard in their combat tab. IT IS A HITTING PROBLEM. I will record it myself too and post the video after class.
I will redo my previous test tonight. If this has become a floater problem, I will know, and if this is truly a hitting problem as I suspect, I will know that as well.

and there is a flat damage reduction on top of the hitting issue.
lions arch dummys cant be missed or crit as far as i know. and the izerker does not move while damaging them so there is no path issue. damage pre patch 4400 damage post patch 3300 max. there is either a flat damage reduction to all hits or there is a “floater issue” not counting one hit. but there is more then one issue in this issue. missing and damage reduction per hit.

Like it was with the loot issue..
1. we have to insist that there is a bug
2. we have to prove that it is a bug and not just what they say it is (that’s the point where “perceived” comes into my mind ^^)
No, I am not unforgiving, but it reminds me enormously what happened the last time the players were “wrong”..
Could we just skip this nerve-racking and annoying part and get a real solution to the problem? It is there and it is there since 26th of February.
