Thanks for the list! I’m looking forward to using this class when I start the game.

I removed all out of date builds or that I couldn’t discern whether it was still viable. I had a short time to go over the list so if I removed your build by accident and it’s still good let me know and provide a link.

If you have a build that’s not on the list also let me know on here so I can add you I will be checking this thread fairly regularly from now on but I don’t yet have the time to go through all previous topics to actually find which builds should be on it but aren’t right now.

If you aren’t the build owner you can link builds on here that you would recommend to be on the list as well.

I think this is still a great Dungeon/Fractals build (the build on the first page). I use it in dungeons and fractals and can’t see any problems with it. The bonus is you only need to change a few major traits if you want to switch from Focus to Pistol or Sword to Scepter for certain bosses.

Hi Fay, when you get a chance, can I request my builds to be on the list? Technically, it’s 1 build and an alternate variant, but both still serve the purpose of being a hybrid power/condition. It is updated as of June 25th, but the build calculator website isn’t yet. Once it does, I’ll update the links.

So far, it works great in PvE and dungeons and shows a uncommon combo of scepter/pistol + staff (or other weapons).

Which build is this? Sometimes build threads show as many months old but the original post gets updated, date of updating a post is listed at the bottom of each post but if you notice any inaccuracies please let me know so I can correct it on the list

My current Mesmer build with detailed explanations for each choice. “DPS Support” for WvW and PvE content mostly. Seems to fit the new “Meta” build.

First off, thank you for continue making and maintaining this list of amazing builds for us! I wanted to let you know that I’ve modified my builds and have only two versions of them. I’ve been playing with them since late July and I believe they’ve gotten improved and still apply to the theme I have:

Flowing Images – Critical 10/30/0/10/20 and Flowing Images – Shatter 10/20/10/0/30

Edit: Critical build uses Scepter/Pistol + Greatsword while Shatter build uses Scepter/Pistol + Staff (but I’ve added alternative weapon choices as options in both guides).

Having played extensively since the big patch, I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that this build is no longer viable. The retaliation trait was the very basis of this build. With that trait effectively gone, this build no longer has any offense available to it, and simply becomes a difficult to kill Mesmer that you can completely ignore.

I will be adding this note to the beginning of the build. Many of the tips and tricks I have in the guide are still helpful and valid, so I’ll be leaving it up, but until Anet fixes the retaliation trait into a form that isn’t worthless, this build will unfortunately remain unplayable.

I would check out the builds that use gsword & sword/focus or sword/sword. They should be in-line with sword/pistol builds.

I’d personally probably go for/try something like this:

I went for more precision/crit there so your duelist illusion will stack more bleeds. Other than that it would be a pretty standard power build. I added some vitality to it so you wouldn’t drop like a fly instantly but if you mostly run with the zerg I would try to add more toughness/vitality as the power of a zerg comes from it’s numbers and ability to survive, not so much pure damage.

If you prefer skirmishing however and are used to running Berserker you can take the chance and go less tanky just don’t be surprised to get steamrolled by an enemy zerg.
